Inspirational Pallet

Hola,
Tami here to share a little positivity with you today.
We find ourselves amidst troubling times; where our everyday life has become anything but "everyday".
So I thought I'd put some pent up energy into making something positive for my home. Clear Scraps has many messages of faith in their line, and I decided to use the "Faith Over Fear" XL Wood Quote as a starting point.
I noticed that the quote fit perfectly on the Medium Deco Pallet Shape, so decided that would work great as the base for the quote.
I wanted something colorful for the background, but couldn't find a printed paper I liked and didn't just want to paint or ink it. Then I caught sight of my washi tape; I have a "slight" addiction to it as you can see from this photo...
Washi tape comes in tons of patterns and colors and I thought it would work well to cover the pallet with.
I placed strips of washi tape horizontally on each section of the pallet, lining up each strip directly beside the previous one. Then used a file to remove excess tape from edges.
For the quote, I painted it white so it would stand out from the background; then distressed it, especially around the edges of the letters. Loosely outlining the letters in a black pen helped define them a bit more.
Washi tape was also used to dress up the Fancy Butterflies Chipboard Embellishment.
Here is a short little video that shows you how I made this project step-by-step.
