DIY Spring Wood Pallet Sign

Clearscraps-woodpallet-chipboard-spring-helengullett

Hello everyone! Helen is here today. March is here and that means Spring is coming, too! It is time for a new home decor.

I made this new Spring Wood Pallet Sign using the new Wagon Large Chipboard Embellishment and Rectangle 12x10 Medium DIY Pallet Shape.

Clearscraps-woodpallet-chipboard-spring1-helengullett

To decorate the Rectangle 12x10 Medium DIY Pallet Shape, I measured the size of each pallet and then I trimmed a 12x12 scrapbook paper with paper trimmer into paper strips. Or you also can simply trace the wood pallet on top of the 12x12 scrapbook paper and cut with scissors.

I added each paper strip on the wood pallet with Beacon 3-in-1 adhesive glue. If you don’t have this glue, make sure you use permament strong adhesive glue that works on wood surface.

Clearscraps-woodpallet-chipboard-spring2-helengullett

Next step is decorating the Wagon Large Chipboard Embellishment. I used heat embossing technique on this chipboard embellishment. It is easy and give some texture on the wagon, it looks like a painted wood wagon.

I applied the VersaMark ink all over the wagon chipboard surface.

Clearscraps-woodpallet-chipboard-spring3-helengullett

And then, I sprinkled the white opaque glitter embossing powder (I have a bottle that I mixed the white embossing powder and iridecent glitter embossing powder). I cover the whole surface.

Clearscraps-woodpallet-chipboard-spring4-helengullett

And then, carefully I used my craft heater gun to heat set the embossing powder. Please, make sure your craft heater gun is warm enough to melt the powder, better pre-heat it for 15-30 seconds before. If not, you will blow some of the powder off when you go over the chipboard when it is still cool.

I did this embossing step three times to get the thickness that I wanted on the wagon and for the wheels I decided to use the black glitter embossing powder for the second and third layer.

When the embossing step is done, I adde the chipboard on top of the wood pallet with the Beacon 3-in-1 adhesive glue, and I held it down for a minute to make sure the glue dried well. I added a diecut flowers and leaves on the wagon to embellish it.

For the sentiment on the sign, I used cork letter stickers and I wrote the rest of the Bible verse with permanent marker brush.

I finished the wood sign with couple of those gold beaded butterflies that I added on the wood with the same adhesive glue. It is ready to be put on our mantle for Spring decor.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Make sure to come back tomorrow to see more inspirations from the design team. And... Check out more of the new products at Clear Scraps store that you will love to use for your projects!

Have wonderful day!

Hello Peeps Easter Cards

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today using  the 4" x 6" Hello Peeps Stencil.

Easter-card-clearscraps-1-steph-ackerman

This stencil is versatile and to show it's versatility, I've created 2 different sized cards.

One card is 4 1/4" x 6" and the other is 4" x 5".  By adjusting the stencil you can create a variety of different sized cards.

Easter-card-clearscraps-6-steph-ackerman

My first card uses a background created with assorted spray inks.

Easter-clearscraps-6-steph-ackerman

The stencil was placed on the background and modeling paste was used across the stencil.

Easter-clearscraps-7-steph-ackerman

Once dry, the stencil was realigned and a variety of inks were used to add color to the modeling paste.

Easter-card-clearscraps-7-steph-ackerman

The panel was cut to size, matted with purple cardstock and added to a yellow card.  Coordinating colors of brads were added to the corners of the card.

My second card realigns the words for a smaller card.

Easter-card-clearscraps-3-steph-ackerman

I taped the stencil to a white panel and added color to the rabbits.  As you can see, the words are off the panel.

Then I realigned the stencil and added color to the words.

Easter-card-clearscraps-4-steph-ackerman

The inked panel was then added to a yellow card and coordinating colors of brads were added to finish off the card.

Clear Scraps Medium DIY Pallet -- Flannel Fun

Hi there everyone!  Laura with you today and even with

spring right around the corner (yes it's coming!) I'm

sharing a home decor project that would be great year

round, especially if you love cabin or woodsy decor,

or love that buffalo plaid themed home decor look

look that is so popular right now!  It's sure one of my

favorite looks, how about you?

Clear_Scraps_ DIY Pallet_Flannel Fun_LCDec 2019(1)

How cute is this little sign?!!  It started with the Clear Scraps

Medium DIY Pallet, these little square pallets are so great for

any home decor project!  Paint 'em, ink 'em, paper 'em!  Any

theme you want for seasonal decor, or add photos to display

a favorite memory.  Sometimes I keep it simple, and so this

is just painted up with brown acrylic paint on the top and

bottom boards.  The center board is covered with a piece

of patterned paper that goes with the outdoorsy theme.

Love the new Vintage Truck LG chipboard embellishment,

which is one of many chipboard shapes available in the

Clear Scraps store!  Want to see all the others available

just waiting for your creativity?  You can find them all HERE

The truck has been painted with red, black and brown acrylic

paint, and then I went around the edges with black ink to

make it look a little more vintage/aged.  I added a bunch of

cute cabin and outdoor themed stickers.  They are layered,

using foam tape, at the back of the truck. At the top,

the word Howdy is also new from Clear Scraps!

It's just painted with black acrylic paint which matches the

buffalo plaid theme perfectly!  The little "channel the

flannel" tag with a twine bow adds a little of that plaid

flair and color at the top of the project.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

XL Wood Bunny

Hello friends and happy Saturday! Hope you are having a good start to your weekend! Spring is just around the corner and today I'm sharing a fun Easter project using the new XL Wood Bunny! This would make nice home decor piece for the spring or a welcoming door hanging!

Clear_Scraps_Bunny_XL_Wood_Shape

I  began by painting my shape with chalk paint in a bright patina color allowing some of the wood to show through. This is an easy technique to give a distressed look to your wood.  Also, the chalk paint dries quickly so you can move on to your next step!

Clear_Scraps_Bunny_XL_Wood_Shape2

Using my Silhouette and white cardstock, I  cut a pretty "celebrate spring" title for my project.  I  simply adhered with Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive; it dries quickly and will not warp or miscolor the wood.  You can also add sentiments using vinyl as well!

Clear_Scraps_Bunny_XL_Wood_Shape3

Again, using my Beacon Adhesive I  adhered these pretty pink paper flowers in a cluster around my title.

Clear_Scraps_Bunny_XL_Wood_Shape4

Last, I   created a bow to adhere onto the bunny ear for decoration. You can also use a hole punch such as a Crop-o-dile if you want to hang your project.

Feeling Lucky Shamrock Shaker Home Decor

Good Morning friends! Leah here with you today to share another home decor item.

As you know, Saint Patricks Day is around the corner, and whether you're Irish or not, there is something to love about little Shamrocks and rainbows!

Shamrock-Shaker_LeahCrowe

I had this cute Mini Shaker Shamrock and knew I wanted to make something with it, so I pondered on that while I put the little shaker together.

Shamrock-Shaker_LeahCrowe

I adhered pattern paper to the top and bottom layer of chipboard then filled the shamrock with little rhinestones.

I happened to look up and notice my daughter's rainbow canvas hanging on my wall. I had rescued it from the trash when she tossed it over a year ago, vowing I would figure out a way to re-purpose it and surprise her. I ended up adding some black stazon ink to the background and edges, and dressed it up with ribbon and stickers, with the focal point being that adorable SHAKER!

Shamrock-Shaker_LeahCrowe

Look how cute this is hanging up! I love that it can be interactive with the shaker element too.

Happy Saint Patricks Day a little early!

Mixed Media Acrylic Tag

Hi Ya'll,

Tami here today to share a mixed media project with you.

Some of you may be asking, "what exactly is mixed media?". Well, simply put, Mixed Media is any form of art that utilizes more than one medium or material.

Using multiple materials or products in the same art project helps to create depth and texture.

For this project, I started with the Acrylic Tag Album, which includes 4 different shaped tags. The tags are great to use as a set to make a mini album, but they are also fun to use separately.

I picked one design, the traditional style tag, to use for this project.

One of the reasons acrylic is a good pick as a base for a mixed media project, is that you can work on both sides of the acrylic to layer and help create depth.

Here is the tag that I made...

Clear_scraps_acrylic_tag_wm

I actually started this project by working on what would be the back of the tag; I painted it black. Then I flipped the tag and painted the front blue. What this allows me to do is to scrape away some of the blue paint to reveal the black paint underneath. This is a great technique to use on acrylic.

Take a look at a closeup pic of those 2 layers...

Clear_scraps_acrylic_tag_cu_wm

I was able to create a pattern and add texture to the tag base, and it also adds a bit of depth as the black layer is on the back.

I added another layer to the background of the tag with the Clear Scraps 4 X 6 Brick Wall Stencil and white modeling paste.

For my next layer,  I used some VERY blingy glitter gel pens to color in some designs, then cut them out and adhered them to the tag. Some of the pieces were adhered using pop dots for even more dimension.

A twine bow finishes off the tag.

I took a video of this project while i was working on it. If you'd like to see the steps, please view this video...

Dog DIY Wood Shapes

Hello all! It's Jennifer on the blog today to share another fun, new Clear Scraps release!  The Dog DIY Wood Shapes has three different designs to create a home decor project, to use alone, or to make a mini album as I did.

Clear_Scraps_Dog_DIY_Wood_Shapes

The first shape is a cute paw that I  painted with black acrylic paint.  I  used my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive to affix patterned paper to the back of the paw.  I  even adhered a photo in one of the cut outs.

Clear_Scraps_Dog_DIY_Wood_Shapes2

The next shape is a bone which I   covered both sides with patterned paper.  I  trimmed excess paper using an x-acto knife and sanding tool.  Wallet sized photos work best on this shape.

Clear_Scraps_Dog_DIY_Wood_Shapes3

On both sides of this page, I   utilized my circle punches to adhere different patterns across the bone.  I  even adhered a couple with pop dots to add dimension.

Clear_Scraps_Dog_DIY_Wood_Shapes4

The last shape is a heart which is the largest size. Here, I  was able to use a 4x6 photo that I  matted onto white cardstock. I  also added another pattern underneath my photo to add color.

Clear_Scraps_Dog_DIY_Wood_Shapes5

I  used my hole punch to place a hole in each shape to loop my chrome book ring through. I  finished by adding some fun yellow seam binding ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today! Be sure to visit for more inspiration from our design team! Have a great day!

Additional products used:  patterned paper, stickers, enamel dots, epoxy buttons, chipboard: Crate Paper; punches: Fiskars, Paper Shapers; adhesive: Beacon, Tombow, Thermoweb; cardstock: Bazzill; wood veneer shapes: Studio Calico; foam letters: American Crafts; hole punch: We R Memory Keepers; ribbon: Snug Hug; misc: buttons, chrome book rings.

I love you to pieces Heart XL Wood Puzzle

Happy March Clear Scraps fam! Leah here with you today sharing a new release item, the Heart XL Wood Puzzle Shape!

My wedding anniversary is coming up at the end of this month, we're celebrating 17 years of marriage and I thought this would be a sweet way to show hubby how much he means to me.

HeartXLWood_LeahCrowe

I started by adhering pattern paper to each individual puzzle piece and then sanded the edges down so the pieces would fit back together smoothly.

I didn't want any glue to show when adhering this puzzle shape, and since this was made for a home decor piece, I didn't want it coming apart. I adhered the puzzle as a whole onto two spare pattern papers on the backside. This gave the puzzle shape stability too.

HeartXLWood2_LeahCrowe

It looks a little funky, but totally worked! I cut away the excess and I then used my crop o dile to attach my hanging element of twine.

HeartXLWood3_LeahCrowe

I also used a new chipboard butterfly embellishment that I colored with Distress Oxide Ink.

HeartXLWood3_LeahCrowe
I popped up my photograph on pop dots then arranged the title block and embellishments around the heart to create movement.

HeartXLWood3_LeahCrowe

I'll see you soon!
