"You Got This" Heart Wood Shape

Hi ya'll,

Tami here today to share a project that you can make for your child or anyone who needs a little encouragement.

This project uses a brand new product from Clear Scraps;  the Heart Wood Shape, which comes in a 3 pack and measures 7 1/2 X 8.

The size makes it great to use for home decor.

Create a colorful reminder to tell them "YOU GOT THIS" every time they look at it.

I started with the new Heart Wood Shape and stained it with pink ink.

I spritzed the board with a little water first to create a wash of color when I applied the ink.

I also distressed the edges of the heart with the same pink ink.

For the "You Got This" XL Script Wood Quote,  I wanted a layered, distressed finish. So first I sprayed the piece with a yellow ink that I heat set.

Then I brushed on a layer of pink paint and heat set it also. When the piece cooled, I used a sanding block to remove some of the paint.

To assemble, glue the "You Got This" towards the left center of the heart.

Then add mirrors to the center of the "O" and to dot the "i" as well as arrange some to the upper right of the heart.

Add flowers with small mirrors are the centers of the large flowers and rhinestones to the centers of the others.

To finish, glue a ribbon hanger to the back.

Thanks for visiting the Clear Scraps Blog; please come back for MORE new products and inspiration on how to use them.
