Springtime Home Pallet Sign

Hi everyone!  It's Annie, and today I'm sharing a tutorial to make some pretty spring home décor using brand new chipboard embellishments and pallet shapes from Clear Scraps.  Customizing a simple rectangle pallet shape to welcome spring is super easy thanks to the new large chipboard designs that come in welcoming phrases and home-y shapes.

Start by trimming a sheet of 12" x 12" scrapbook to fit onto each slat of the Rectangle 12" x 10" Medium DIY Pallet Shape.  I wanted to leave a small unfinished wood border around each slat to give my sign a rustic feel, so I trimmed my paper to about 3.75" x 11.75" for the middle slat and about 2.5" x 11.75" for the top and bottom slats.  Apply collage medium or Mod Podge to the wood pallet, smooth the paper on top to adhere, and then cover the piece with another coat of collage medium or Mod Podge to seal the paper and yield a smooth matte finish.

Paint the Large Wagon Chipboard Embellishment with champagne metallic acrylic paint.  I like to use a soft foam brush for soft and even application.

Using white satin finish acrylic paint and a soft foam brush, apply several thin coats of paint to the Large Home Chipboard Embellishment for a smooth and even finish.

Adhere the letters from the Large Home Chipboard Embellishment to the top of the pallet using hot glue for secure adhesion but a little bit a dimension.  Then pop the Large Wagon Chipboard Embellishment up on the bottom of the pallet using foam adhesive.  Tuck pre-formed flowers, die-cut leafy branches, and a few small floral picks into the top of the wagon and secure the entire arrangement to the pallet using hot glue.
