Creating Acrylic Cards with Chipboard Embellishments

Hello friends and happy December! Christmas time is upon us and if you like to create your own holiday cards, then this post is for you!  Clear Scraps has released many adorable new Chipboard Shape Embellishments that are the perfect size for cards. Today, I'm going to show you three cards I  created along with techniques!

First up, I  used the new Star Bulb Chipboard Embellishments that are one of my new favorites!  I  began with kraft cardstock as my background, then adhered a cut down piece of the 12x12 Acrylic Sheet.

On my chipboard, I  used red chalk paint and black acrylic paint to color the bulbs and stems of the ornaments.

I  then used embossing ink and powder to add sparkle to the red portions of the chipboard.

Using different sizes of circle punches, I  adhered patterns from the collection I  used to the front of the acrylic as well as directly on the kraft background. This is a great way to add dimension and layers to your project! 

I  stamped my sentiment at the bottom right corner of the kraft to allow it to show through the acrylic.  

For my second card, I  used the new Candy Canes Chipboard Embellishments. I  used the same technique as in my first card with the acrylic paint, embossing ink, and powder. I  love how the glitter red embossing powder looks on the chipboard! 

For my acrylic piece, I  applied StazOn Opaque using a dauber and the 4x6 Snowflake Stencil.  I  also added ink around the edges of my acrylic to give it a "frosted" look. 

My last card isn't exactly Christmas per say but I thought the Coffee Mug Chipboard Embellishment would make a cute gift card. I  actually covered the main portion with patterned paper and white cardstock to recreate a certain popular coffee cup! The smaller "java jacket" I  left bare and embellished with a cute buffalo plaid sentiment sticker. 

I  used adhesive dots to affix my gift card to look like it was sticking out of the top of the Coffee Mug.  I  also stamped a sentiment underneath as well as added a chipboard heart.
