Hello hello hello crafty friends... Christmas is 15 more days from today. Decorating the house during Christmas time is a fun moment for our family. One of my favorite things to do is making Christmas decoration. This time, I made this Be Merry Farmhouse Pallet Sign.
For this Farmhouse Pallet Sign, I used the Rectangle Medium DIY Pallet Shape, it is a 6.5" x 16.5" x 1/8" birch wood pallet shape. The stencil I used is Be Merry 6"x16" Stencil, which is one of the Farmhouse Stencils.
I started mixing the Black All-Purpose acrylic paint and Red All-Purpose acrylic paint on my craft mat. I mixed the color to get the burgundy shade because I did not have it.
I used foam brush to apply the first layer of the paint on the wood. I let it dry completely and then apply the second layer of the paint. You can paint the wood once if you think it is enough, or twice if you want to. It is an option.
I sprayed the back of the stencil with temporary adhesive and let it dry for a minute. I added it on top of the wood and pressed it well to make sure it stick. If you do not have this spray adhesive, painter tape will work well, too.
I used White Chalk Paint for the letters. I added the paint with round sponge brush with tapping motion. I let it half dry and then added more paint for bolder result.
Very carefully and slowly, I removed the stencil from the wood. After that, I did a little bit touch up with small round brush.
I made the burlap bow out of wired burlap ribbon and then I added it on the wood with glue gun. Now... it is on our mantle with the other Christmas decoration.
I hope this project will give you an idea for your home decor at this holly jolly Holidays. Make sure to visit Clear Scraps Store for the wood pallet and stencils, and more home decor supplies!
