Hi everyone! It's Annie, and today I'm sharing a fun and easy Christmas décor project made with one of the medium pallet shapes and a festive stencil from Clear Scraps. I love anything red and green for Christmastime, but today decided to try out some non-traditional colors for something a little different.
I started by giving the Bulb Medium DIY Pallet Shape a quick sanding with a sanding sponge. Then I applied two coats of deep purple pearl acrylic paint to the body of the shape and two coats of metallic silver acrylic paint to the hanger top using foam brushes. Once completely dry, I laid the 4x6 Sparkle stencil over the center of the shape, taped it down with light-tack painter's tape, and applied silver glitter gel through it with a palette knife. When I had a nice even coat of glitter gel applied, I removed the stencil and moved it further down the shape to add a few extra stars by stenciling just a small portion of the design.
I left the sign to dry completely overnight (although a few hours is probably all that is needed). To embellish, I added a few pom-pom branches from a fun and sparkly floral pick with hot glue, then tied a small bow of white organza ribbon around the hanger portion of the shape. You can add a rope or ribbon hanger to the sign if desired, but I chose to leave mine as is.
I hope you enjoyed this fun and festive holiday décor project and thanks so much for stopping by today. How would you decorate the Bulb Pallet Shape for the holidays?
~ Annie
