Personalized Tractor Pallet Sign

Personalized Tractor Pallet by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Main

Hi everyone!  It's Annie, and today I'm sharing this fun, personalized tractor sign made with one of the wood pallet shapes from the Clear Scraps shop.  My four-year-old loves anything tractor, but is particularly fond of the green and yellow ones.   :)

I started by giving the Tractor DIY Pallet Shape a quick sanding with a sanding sponge before applying two coats of bright green acrylic paint.  This gives me a nice base to apply my other colors to.  Once dry, I continued by painting the steering wheel, gear shift, and tires freehand with black acrylic paint.

For a fun, personal touch, I used painters tape to mask off the border of a long stripe down the side of the tractor and applied letters inside of the strip that I cut from stencil material using my Silhouette CAMEO to spell out my son's name.  The font I chose is very close to the one used by the "green and yellow" tractor company in their logos (recommended on their website).  I painted over the tape and letters with yellow acrylic paint, and peeled away the masks once nearly dry to reveal my son's very own tractor logo.

To finish the sign off, I painted the wheel wells with the same yellow acrylic paint and the grill on the front with silver metallic acrylic paint.  Since the sign is fairly large and colorful, I didn't think it needed anything else.   And guess what...my son loves it!

I hope you enjoyed this fun, personalized home décor project and thanks so much for stopping by today.  There are so many gorgeous wood pallet shapes to customize in the Clear Scraps shop...which one would you make for your loved one?
