Hello there everyone! Laura here today...and I've got a pretty card to share with you!
Fall is such a fun crafting season! It's full of pumpkin spice and everything nice,
just like this card! I started with basic cream color cardstock and created a
A2 size (4&1/4" by 5&1/2") card base. Next I took the Clear Scraps
4x6 Plaid Stencil and laid it onto the base, then I used washi tape to
block off everything except the larger squares.
Next I applied distress ink in a darker brown color to the squares. I removed
that washi, and then blocked off the larger squares and part of the thin lines,
leaving the rest of thin lines so I could apply another shade this time.
I then went back and did the same with the other thin lines to finish off the colors.
Colors are usually best in threes.....so I used the dark brown, orange, and a bright
orange/yellow color. They made a pretty fall palette to create my card.
So very easy to do, but it looks so pretty and very "pumpkin spice season".
I wanted to keep this simple, because the plaid stencil creates such a striking pattern,
but I did want to add a little something else, so I took some alcohol ink and dabbed
it onto one of the Clear Scraps Acrylic Leaves Embellishment.
After the alcohol ink dried (which only takes a few seconds....love that!) I used
some glitter glue (here it was the gold Glitter Kiss) brushed onto the edges of
the leaf to give it a bit of a gilded effect and then I punched a hole so I could
tie the leaf onto the pretty organza ribbon and bow with a bit of twine.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Stop back soon for more inspiration!
