Mouse Wood Accordion Shaker Album
September 26, 2019
Hello friends! It's Jennifer on the blog today to share one of the newer Wood Accordion Shaker Albums with you! If you are a fan of all things Disney then you will love the Mouse Wood Accordion Shaker Album! Each album is constructed from sturdy birch wood and is easy to assemble! I scrapped some favorite photos from our trip to Orlando last fall!
The front cover consists of four pieces: 1 wood back, 2 wood cut outs, and an acrylic piece. I have found its best to cover the both sides of the wood and use your hole punch before assembling your shaker. Using black chalk paint, I colored the 2 wood cut outs as well as the edge of the wood back. I adhered my first wood cut out to the solid back using my Beacon 3-in-1 adhesive. I then selected coordinating colors of sequins to insert as my shaker pieces. Next, I adhered my acrylic piece followed by the second wood cut out.
Here is the backside of the shaker portion which can be used as another page or painted a solid color. I added some journaling as well as embellishments to accent my page.
I assembled my album accordion style but you can also insert chrome book rings/twine into one side of each page. These albums do not strictly have to be accordion but can lay like traditional books.
I did use black chalk paint to go around the edge of each page. I felt that it added some depth as well sealed the paper to the wood. However, this is not a necessary step. I did use a paper sander to remove an excess paper which is always helpful.
This particular album measures approximately 5x8 inches so you can definitely used 4x6 photos. Since I tend you use a lot of embellishments and papers, I chose to use wallet size photos (which I matted onto white cardstock).
For this page I opted to paint the top portion with my black chalk paint and only covering the bottom with patterned paper.
