Clear Scraps Jumbo Wood Tags -- Happy To Be Haunting

Hey there everyone!  Who's excited for fall?  Do you love fall crafting?

Laura here, and I've got to say, fall is my favorite time for crafting!

I'm here today to share a fun home decor project for Halloween!

It was created using the new Clear Scraps Jumbo Wood Tags.

Clear_Scraps_Jumbo Wood Tags_DIY pallet_Happy to be Haunting

This project uses the scallop wood tag.  Love that little extra detail

at the top!  It's like all the wonderful wood items from Clear Scraps,

limited only by your imagination!  This one I painted with orange

acrylic paint, then brushed the edges of the tag with black acrylic paint.

After this dried, I used the new Clear Scraps 4x6 Oct 31st stencil.

Clear_Scraps_Jumbo Wood Tags_DIY pallet_Happy to be Hanting_close up 2

You can use washi tape to hold the stencil in place, and then

sponge on your paint.  The black acrylic really pops against the

orange paint on the tag, and fits perfectly on the tag right below

the little ghost pallet shape!  How cute is that little ghostie?!!

She's new from Clear Scraps too, of course!

It's the Ghost Medium DIY Pallet Shape from Clear Scraps!

Just painted up with white acrylic paint, and then added a

cute face.  I'm not the best at hand painting.....so I just found

a printable on the computer, cut it out, glued it on, and done!

I added a few stickers and scraps of paper, journal boxes, etc, to

add pops of color and texture, using some foam tape to pop up.

To finish it off I added a bunch of Halloween ribbons, some tulle,

and the nice heavy duty cord....that one actually comes with the tag!

Make sure to check out the Clear Scraps store to find a bunch of

these great DIY Pallets in all sorts of shapes to get your creative

juices flowing and give you ideas for all your home decor projects!

Once the pallet was completely dry, apply Crackle Medium.  Let the crackle medium dry completely.  paint stem.

Mouse Wood Accordion Shaker Album

Hello friends! It's Jennifer on the blog today to share one of the newer Wood Accordion Shaker Albums with you!  If you are a fan of all things Disney then you will love the Mouse Wood Accordion Shaker Album!  Each album is constructed from sturdy birch wood and is easy to assemble!  I  scrapped some favorite photos from our trip to Orlando last fall!

Clear_Scraps_Mouse_Accordion_Shaker_Album

The front cover consists of four pieces: 1 wood back, 2 wood cut outs, and an acrylic piece. I  have found its best to cover the both sides of the wood and use your hole punch before assembling your shaker.  Using black chalk paint, I  colored the 2 wood cut outs as well as the edge of the wood back.  I  adhered my first wood cut out to the solid back using my Beacon 3-in-1 adhesive.  I  then selected coordinating colors of sequins to insert as my shaker pieces.  Next, I  adhered my acrylic piece followed by the second wood cut out.

Clear_Scraps_Mouse_Accordion_Shaker_Album2

Here is the backside of the shaker portion which can be used as another page or painted a solid color.  I  added some journaling as well as embellishments to accent my page.

Clear_Scraps_Mouse_Accordion_Shaker_Album3

I  assembled my album accordion style but you can also insert chrome book rings/twine into one side of each page.  These albums do not strictly have to be accordion but can lay like traditional books.

Clear_Scraps_Mouse_Accordion_Shaker_Album5

I  did use black chalk paint to go around the edge of each page. I  felt that it added some depth as well sealed the paper to the wood. However, this is not a necessary step.  I  did use a paper sander to remove an excess paper which is always helpful.

Clear_Scraps_Mouse_Accordion_Shaker_Album6

This particular album measures approximately 5x8 inches so you can definitely used 4x6 photos. Since I  tend you use a lot of embellishments and papers, I  chose to use wallet size photos (which I  matted onto white cardstock).

Clear_Scraps_Mouse_Accordion_Shaker_Album7

For this page I  opted to paint the top portion with my black chalk paint and only covering the bottom with patterned paper.

Clear Scraps Edison Light Bulb Chip -- Bright Ideas Notebook

Hi there everyone!  Laura joining you today, with a fun project for back to school!

You see a lot of cute projects online for teachers, and younger students, so I

thought I'd share and idea for a project for an older student.  Part of the

fun could be creating this project together, or you could make it and give

as a gift....it would make a great gift for a high school or college student!

Clear_Scraps_Edison Light Bulb Chip_

One of the things I love to do is take a basic boring composition notebook,

and make it into something special.  This one could be used as a fun

notebook for note taking, or it could be used for ideas, dreams, a daily

journal, so many options!  And it's much more interesting than the

plain old composition notebook....who wouldn't be inspired by that?!

To create it is simple too!  Take the notebook, and cut paper to fit,

and glue to the front cover.  I did use a corner rounder on the right side,

but you could easily trim it to fit as well.  To add a little extra something,

I sprinkled some distress spray stain on it.

Clear_Scraps_Edison Light Bulb Chip_close up 2

To do this, place on a protected surface (cover your work surface with

newspaper, or take it outside on the lawn!) then ake out the sprayer, and

tap the plastic tubing over your project to get the splatter effect.  You

can also use a toothbrush, but I like the control of this method better.

When that was dry, I went back and added some stencil images,

using gray paint and the Clear Scraps 6" spiral stencil.

Clear_Scraps_Edison Light Bulb Chip_cloe up 3

The awesome chip Edison light bulbs, are the Clear Scraps

Edison Light Bulbs Chipboard Embellishments.

They are painted black, then I tapped on some orange paint,

then a little more black over that to give it a rusted look.

Then I used some random letter I had to put on my title.

Now all that's left is to decide who to gift this to!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Floral Whiskey Barrel by Steph

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here using the Whiskey Barrel DIY Pallet Shape and the Grateful XL Script Wood Quote.

Barrel-clearscraps-5-steph-ackerman

This is a fun wood pallet which I first painted with 2 shades of brown paint.

Barrel-clearscraps-steph-ackerman

Once dry, I realized I wanted it darker to I repainted it with a darker brown paint.  Once dry, I painted a layer of crackle paint across the horizontal boards.

Barrel-clearscraps-3-steph-ackerman

The wood word was painted with red paint then spritzed with yellow ink for contrast and sparkle.

Barrel-clearscraps-2-steph-ackerman

It was then added to the Whiskey Barrel.

Barrel-clearscraps-7-steph-ackerman

This Whiskey Barrel  is perfect to decorate with your favorite silk flowers.

Barrel-clearscraps-4-steph-ackerman

I've hung it on my fence, but you can also consider placing it in your garden and let the flowers mingle with the barrel.

Glittery Hello Fall Sign

Hello Fall Sign by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Main 3

Hi everyone and happy first day of Fall!  It's Annie, and today I wanted to share a quick tutorial to make this glittery autumn décor project using one of the new wood shapes and a gorgeous farmhouse stencil from the Clear Scraps shop.

Hello Fall Sign by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Painting Tag

I started by giving the Jumbo Wood Tags Rounded shape a quick sanding with my sanding sponge.  Then, I applied two coats of brown acrylic paint over the entire tag.  Once dry, I roughly sanded the piece with my sanding sponge, concentrating the heaviest pressure around the edges and in random small areas elsewhere for a distressed look.

Hello Fall Sign by Annie Williams - Stenciling

Next, I centered the Hello Fall stencil on top of my tag and secured it on two sides with some painters tape.  I carefully applied red, orange, and gold glitter gel through the stencil, mixing the colors a bit where they overlapped, for a fun rainbow effect.  Once I had finished applying the gel, I immediately removed the stencil and washed it gently with warm, soapy water.

Hello Fall Sign by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Add Bow

The tag comes with a rustic twine rope to use for hanging, but I chose to thread some fall plaid ribbon through the shape instead and tie a simple bow in the front to the secure it.

Hello Fall Sign by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Detail

Although a relatively simple project, I love how the thick, beautiful font used on the stencil looks with the brightly colored glitter.  The new tag shapes are the perfect size to use with any of the Farmhouse stencils in the Clear Scraps shop, so which one would you choose?

~ Annie

Additional products used: brown acrylic paint; sanding sponge; painter's tape; red, orange, and gold Glitz Glitter Gel; fall plaid ribbon

"dream Big" Tag Cork Board

Thanks for joining me for today's project!

I am in love with this extra large tag cork board!

Let me take you through the steps on how I created it!

I have used the Jumbo Wood Tag, and the "dream Big" XL Script Wood Quote.

Watermarked-20190911_135111

I started out by painting the extra large tag with this beautiful sage green paint.

I painted the "dream Big" Wood Quote with some gray/brown paint to make the word pop.

Watermarked-20190910_152516Watermarked-20190910_152516

I attached the "dream Big" wood quote to the top of the Large Tag.

I then added the cork to the bottom of the tag.

Watermarked-20190911_125915

Wood "Write your Story" Album by Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a Wood Album by Clear Scraps.  I created with the "Write your Story" wood album and matching 6" stencil.
So fun and easy to make it your own.  I will use this one as an art journal~

Wood album1_clear scraps_c.mercer
Creating the cover was the fun part !!!  The cover was painted with acrylic paint and then sanded lightly.  The feather was stenciled first using the 6" Write your Story stencil.  I used about 4 different colors of Archival ink but as you can see it all looks black.  So black it is!!!

Wood album2_clear scraps_c.mercer

The stencils added to the background to create interest and dimension are ~ 6" Chevron, 6" Swallowtail Butterfly, 6" Quaterfoil, 6" Plaid and 6" Shiplap Clear Scraps has some really cool and fun images that look great for mixed media backgrounds.  Just start adding one at a time~
Wood album3_clear scraps_c.mercer
I used black, cobalt, beige and white ink with the 6" stencils (for the background).  The cool thing is if you have an area you don't like just add more stencil images until you get the look you are looking for.  I love that, can't mess it up!!  No way!

Wood album4_clear scraps_c.mercer
I added mixed media paper to the wood album because I  will be using this as an art journal~so excited to create a page!!

Wood album5_clear scraps_c.mercer
The inside cover the 4"x 6"stencil  "All Created" was used by Clear Scraps.  On the side page (black) the 6" Diamonds stencil was used to create a background.
I also used red rubber stamps by Darkroom Door for a the art images.  Beacon 527 was used to glue the inside pocket on the wood inside cover.

Wood album6_clear scraps_c.mercer
This is the back cover~another pocket to hold any extras or notes.

Mixable Medley Album

Good day, Clear Scraps friends! Leah here with you today sharing the awesome Mixable Medley album. Each album includes 5 cascading pages mixed with both Acrylic & Chipboard. My husband recently celebrated his birthday, so this album is all about him.
MedleyMixable_LeahCrowe
I used several of the 6" stencils on the chipboard pages in the album. I started by painting the album pages lightly in white, then I used distress ink and a brush to stencil on the pages. I also used alcohol ink and a stencil on the acrylic page. Here's a list of the stencils used as well as a peek at some of the pages before decorated and assembled.

Clear Scraps 6" Groovy Hearts

So cute! Here is a closer look at each page.

I used an acrylic sealer on the chipboard, which created a distressed look. I didn't love it, and the nozzle was clogged. I even tried cleaning the nozzle and went forth trying to seal it anyway. I should have waited for a new can. lol, live and learn, right?! It's still cute!

I'll add in my journaling later.

I applied pattern paper to the backside of the groovy heart so the back is covered as well.

Autumn Thank You Card

Autumn Thank You Card by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Main

Hi everyone!  It's Annie, and today I'm sharing a tutorial to make this bright autumn thank you card using chipboard embellishments and stencils from the Clear Scraps shop.  What I love most about stencils is their versatility...and sometimes you can find some pretty unique uses for them!

Autumn Thank You Card by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Painting Trees

I started by painting the Oak Trees Chipboard Embellishments with yellow, orange, red, and brown acrylic paints.  Rather than paint too much detail onto these pieces, I simply pounced a small flat paint brush full of paint over the shape with different colors until I was satisfied with the results.

Autumn Thank You Card by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Inking Background

Next I applied three blue shades of Distress Oxide inks over a 5" x 7" panel of white cardstock with a foam ink blending tool until I had a smooth ombre effect as shown.

Autumn Thank You Card by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Stenciling Clouds

I wanted to create wispy cloud shapes but didn't have a stencil with the right look...until I realized that the 6" Pine Trees stencil looked just like wispy clouds when I turned it on its side!  I dabbed a damp baby wipe through two of the tree shapes onto the inked background panel to create faint white cloud images in the sky.

Autumn Thank You Card by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Diecut Hill

The hillside was die cut from some green cardstock with a wavy border die.  I added speckles of orange and yellow paint to the die-cut under where I knew I would be placing my trees to give the ground a beginning-of-autumn feel.

Autumn Thank You Card by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Sentiment
The last detail was a small flag of white cardstock that I stamped a thank you sentiment on using orange ink.

Autumn Thank You Card by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Detail

To assemble the card, I adhered the inky background to a 5" x 7" white card base using tape runner and popped the sentiment and grassy hillside up on top using foam adhesive.  The trees were then tucked into the hillside and adhered with liquid glue.

I hope you enjoyed this bright autumn thank you card project and thanks so much for stopping by today.  There are tons of stencils to choose from in the Clear Scraps shop...what are some unique ways that you've used yours?

Tis the Season to Sparkle Cards

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today using the new 4x6 stencil - Sparkle.  This stencil is the perfect size for cards so I've used it to take center stage.

Sparkle-clearscraps-rinea-3-steph-ackerman

Using Rinea Foiled Papers, I taped the stencil in place.  Using a spackle knife and modeling paste, I covered the stencil.

Sparkle-clearscraps-rinea-steph-ackerman

I removed the stencil immediately so I could create a second card.  Don't they look amazing?

Sparkle-clearscraps-rinea-1-steph-ackerman

Putting aside the panels to dry overnight, I created my cards.

I used some papers from my stash and added ribbon across the center.

The panels were matted with cardstock then added to the cards with foam adhesives for dimension.

Thankful Card Set using Twig Leaves Stencil

Thanks for joining me for today's project.

I have created these super cute and very easy card set.

I have used the Twig Leaves 6x6 Stencil to make these lovely napkin cards.

Watermarked-20190910_144833

I started out with a kraft cardstock for a base.  I used the stencil on some cream colored cardstock

using distress inks in 3 different colored inks.

It gave a very nice background to my cards.

I continued by taking some napkins and decoupaging then to some cream colored cardstock.

Watermarked-20190910_144841

I trimmed them down and added them to some kraft colored cardstock.

I popped this layer up on some foam tape to give them dimension.

I inked all layers with distress ink.

I added some nuvo drops to the bottom right of each corner.

The inside of the card is just as lovely.

Watermarked-20190910_144914

I used a strip of the napkin again to add some decoration to the inside.

I decoupaged it again to some cream colored cardstock and then fussy cut them out.

Thanks for joining me and hope you give these cards a try.

Kim :)

Thankful Pumpkin Pallet

Thankful Pumpkin Pallet by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Flat

Hi everyone!  It's Annie, and today I'm sharing a tutorial to make some fun autumn décor using one of the new pallet shapes from the Clear Scraps shop.  I'm in love with all things plaid this season, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to make some custom plaid décor.

Thankful Pumpkin Pallet by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Tracing

I started by tracing the shape of the Pumpkin Medium DIY Pallet Shape onto the back of some double-sided orange plaid paper with a pencil.  I then repeated this step with just the stem region of the pallet onto some green plaid paper.

Thankful Pumpkin Pallet by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Cut Pieces

Knowing that my traced image would end up slightly larger than my actual pallet shape, I trimmed out the paper shapes slightly inside the traced lines using detail scissors.

Thankful Pumpkin Pallet by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Adhering

I adhered the paper to the pallet using collage medium by first brushing medium onto the wood and pressing the paper on top.  Then, I added more collage medium over the entire shape on top of the paper to seal the piece and add a nice matte finish.

Thankful Pumpkin Pallet by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Coloring Edges

To finish the piece a bit more, I ran orange and green distress crayons around all of the edges and then blended them out and smoothed them with my finger.

Thankful Pumpkin Pallet by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Vines

For a little extra detail, I die cut leaves and vines from the same green plaid paper.  After blending green ink around the edges of each with a sponge dauber, I carefully adhered them around the stem with liquid glue and foam tape.

Thankful Pumpkin Pallet by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Detail

The thankful sentiment and its shadow were cut from some gold foil and brown linen cardstock using my Silhouette CAMEO.  For a bit of dimension, I adhered this to the piece with foam adhesive.

Thankful Pumpkin Pallet by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Main

I hope you enjoyed this fun autumn décor project and thanks so much for stopping by today.  With all of the awesome new pallet shapes in the Clear Scraps shop, which one will you be choosing to decorate?

Beach Time vacation layout

Hello, friends! Leah here with you today sharing another layout this month. My daughter recently went to the beach so I have a lot of fun photos to play with! These two are my favorites from her trip, and I knew Clear Scraps products would be the perfect way to show them off.

Beachtime_LeahCrowe

On this layout I have used:
Clear Scraps 12x12 Acrylic Sheet
Clear Scraps 6" Bubbles Stencil
Clear Scraps Coral Chipboard Embellishment
and I didn't have this stencil in my stash, but wish I had - Clear Scraps 4x6 Sunrise Stencil (I used my electronic cutter to create mine, it came out ok)

I started by using white cardstock, gesso, and spray inks to create my background. I adhered that to the 12x12 acrylic sheet, then masked the 6" Bubbles onto the background using course gel texture.

Howtobeach_LeahCrowe
Howtobeach_LeahCrowe

The texture is divine! I covered it up a little more than I had planned, whoops.

I then used my makeshift sunray stencil and applied that to the layout.

Howtobeach3_LeahCrowe
Once that dried I added my large title I cut using my Silhouette.

Beachtime4_LeahCrowe
I then added the Chipboard Coral and my photos.

Here's a look at the layout just lying on my glass table.
