Mouse Medium DIY Pallet Shape

Hello and happy Monday!  Jennifer on the blog today to share new Clear Scraps products!  I  created a fun home decor project using the Mouse Medium DIY Pallet Shape and Dream Big XL Script Wood Quote!

Clear_Scraps_Mouse_Medium_DIY_Pallet

I  began by painting my pallet with chalk paint in black.  Chalk paint works beautifully on the birch wood and a little goes a long way!

Clear_Scraps_Mouse_Medium_DIY_Pallet2

I  also used chalk paint on my XL Script Wood Quote but this time in red! I  set it aside to dry to work on decorating my pallet shape.

Clear_Scraps_Mouse_Medium_DIY_Pallet3

Using Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive, I  adhered a strip of patterned paper to the center slat of the pallet.  Anything solvent based is what you want to use with the wood or acrylic Clear Scraps products!

IMG_7595

I  then flipped over my pallet and used an x-acto knife to remove my excess paper.  Also going around the edges with a sanding tool is recommended.

IMG_7597

I  wanted to add a bit more background to my pallet behind the XL Script Wood Quote!  Using the 4x6 Star Stencil and modeling creme, I    applied a layer to the top and bottom slats of the pallet.

IMG_7598

Here is the end result of the stencil + modeling creme. You can see its not perfect but that's ok!   I    then  adhered my Dream Big XL Script Wood Quote to the center of the pallet (again using my Beacon adhesive).

Lastly, I added some small embellishments from the collection I  used.   I  felt like if I  added too many my pallet would be too busy.  I  did use a hole punch at the top of the ears to add some seam binding to hang my pallet!

Mason Jar Hanging Mini Layout

Hi everyone and welcome to my project.

Today I have created this super cute and shabby chic Mason Jar Hanging Mini Layout.

I wanted something to hang in my room that I could change out photos if I wanted to.

I used the new Mason Jar Medium Pallet Shape.

Watermarked-20190809_142219

I cut and glued down some pattern paper to the individual slates of the pallet.

I then inked all the edges with Victorian Velvet distress ink.

I punched 2 holes in the top to run some seam binding for my hanger.

I wrapped some natural colored twine at the top and tied a bow.

Watermarked-20190809_142219-1

I layered some craft and cream cardstock for my photo mat.

I added some scrap lace along one edge of the photo mat.

I then pulled some coordinating flowers from my stash and some white

flat back pearl embellishments.

To finish it off I added some Nuvo drops the the top left and bottom right corners.

Watermarked-20190809_142214 - Copy (3)

I hope you like what I have created and hope you hop over and get

a few of these Mason Jar Pallets and created your own

hanging mini layout!!

Thanks Kim :)

Cupcake Pallet by Steph

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman creating with one of the newest shaped pallets - the Cupcake Pallet.

Cupcake-clearscraps-6-steph-ackerman

This cupcake pallet is composed of 1/8 birch wood and measures approximately 8" x 8".  I painted the cupcake base with brown paint, then taped off each section before painting the rest of the pallet.

Cupcake-clearscraps-steph-ackerman

Placing the Stripes Layering Stencil on the cupcake base, I painted through the stencil with a darker brown, moving the stencil as needed to cover the entire base.

Cupcake-clearscraps-1-steph-ackerman

While waiting for the cupcake base to dry,  I painted the cherry.

Cupcake-clearscraps-2-steph-ackerman

The middle panel was painted yellow to simulate a yellow cake.  Then I used a thicker white paint to create the icing on the top panel, using a pallet knife rather than a brush to create the texture of icing.

Cupcake-clearscraps-3-steph-ackerman

While the icing was still wet, I sprinkled dew drops into the wet paint to give the illusion of sprinkles - so fun!

Cupcake-clearscraps-4-steph-ackerman

I created a banner with a happy birthday sentiment and placed it behind the cherry.

Cupcake-clearscraps-5-steph-ackerman

As the icing dried, it left lots of texture as well as a drips down the yellow panel.

Thanks for stopping by.

Ice Cream Shaker Card

Hiya, Clear Scraps fam!! It's been so hot this year and I thought crafting something cool may help cool me off.
(It didn't, but it was fun! lol)

Here is this awesome Mini Shaker Ice Cream card.

IcecreamShakerCard_LeahCrowe

I have a video on youtube sharing how this interactive card opens up. I just love the shaker and show you how I quickly put it together.

IcecreamShaker_LeahCrowe
I used these two inks to color the very top frame.
I then chose papers from a 6x6 paper pad and used another frame to trace the ice cream scoops.

IcecreamShaker2_LeahCroweIf you trace the inside of the pieces, just cut around the outside of the trace 1/8" and then erase the pencil marks.
Then adhere to the back of the frame. Repeat until your scoops are flavored with the right paper! ;)

IcecreamShaker3_LeahCrowe
Once all the layers are adhered, I go back in with the 5x9 Stripes stencil to create the waffle cone effect.

IcecreamShakerCard2_LeahCrowe
I used my cutting machine and a Lori Whitlock file to create this fun Twist Pop card.

IcecreamShakerCard3_LeahCrowe

I think I will add a birthday message on the bottom, it's perfect for a Birthday card!

Flower Medium DIY Pallet

Hi there everyone!  Laura here with you today, excited to share one of many projects

you have started seeing with some of the brand new Clear Scraps release!

There are so many fun new goodies, make sure you check out the store HERE.

This sweet little wall hanging was created using one of the new Medium DIY Pallets!

Clear_Scraps_Flower Medium DIY Pallet_Sunshine & Happiness

These are so fun to create with, they make great decor pieces and are also great to

make as a gift for someone!  I like to create seasonal decor like this summer piece,

and I thought the new Flower Medium DIY Pallet was perfect! LOVE this new shape!

It's painted using white acrylic paint (how simple is that?!!) and then I

brushed around the edges with black acrylic paint, using a foam applicator.

Clear_Scraps_Flower Medium DIY Pallet_Sunshine & Happienss

I think the black paint around the edges make it pop and creates a perfect frame for

this project! It's different too, even though you can cover it with pretty paper, or stamp on it,

or you can paint it a pretty color.  I wanted to show just a simple black and white background

could make a great base for the bright colored patterned papers, stickers, and enamel

dots that give this project its fun, colorful vibe of happiness and sunshine!

Clear_Scraps_Flower DIY Medium Pallet_Sunshine & Happiness

I just cut out a journal card, and a pretty paper square that I matted, then added

some bright fun stickers using foam tape, and finished off with enamel dots.

A crop a dile can be used to punch holes that you can thread a ribbon through

to create a hanger for the project.  The black and white dot was perfect!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Make sure to stop back often,

we are all showcasing some of the new releases in the next month so

you can get a lot of inspiration on how to use these new amazing pieces!

Supplies Used:

Clear Scraps:  Flower Medium DIY Pallet

Other:  Black and white acrylic paint, ribbon, adhesive,

Photo Play paper, stickers and enamel dots.

House Medium DIY Pallet Shape

Hello and happy Friday!  I'm happy to share one of the new releases by Clear Scraps today on the blog! For Summer 2019, there are new Medium DIY Pallet Shapes in your favorite designs! For today's project, I  used the House Medium DIY Pallet Shape and I'm going to show you my techniques.

Clear_Scraps_House_Medium_DIY_Pallet

I  began by applying a light coat of acrylic brown paint which I  watered down to create a "wood stain" effect.  The birch wood soaks up the paint so all of the beautiful qualities show through!

Clear_Scraps_House_Medium_DIY_Pallet6

Next, using the 6 Inch Shiplap Mascil, I  applied texture paste to the front of my pallet just in the "house section". I  did not worry about my application being perfect either as I  just wanted to add some dimension. Using a heat gun will help the paste set quickly.

Clear_Scraps_House_Medium_DIY_Pallet7

My pallet was then ready to decorate!  I  trimmed a favorite family photo down to 3x4 inches and matted onto white cardstock.   I  layered two pieces of patterned paper underneath my photo and adhered the entire piece using foam tape.  I  then secured a metal clip to the top.

Clear_Scraps_House_Medium_DIY_Pallet2

Using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive, I  adhered a few flowers as well as a die cut to add to my photo.

Clear_Scraps_House_Medium_DIY_Pallet3

Using my hole punch, I  added this decorative knob to the side of my pallet to give it a vintage feel.

Clear_Scraps_House_Medium_DIY_Pallet4

To finish, I  again used my hole punch at the top of my pallet to tie ribbon.  This is a cute way to hang your creation or you can use wire as well!

Jumbo Wood Do Not Disturb Tag

Hello Friends! Leah here with you today to share a project created from the new releases! Have you seen them?

JumboWoodTagDND2_LeahCrowe

I'm using the Jumbo Rounded Wood Tag and a new large do not disturb stencil.

JumboWoodTagDND4_LeahCrowe

I used some washi tape to hold the stencil in place and pounced distress oxide ink on the stencil.

JumboWoodTagDND5_LeahCrowe

I switched to a brick red for the top of the stencil and then tied the rope so you can hang the sign.

JumboWoodTagDND3_LeahCrowe

I adhered washi tape along the tag and some pretty flowers to add more color and softness to the tag.

Have a great week!
