Hi friends! It's Jennifer on the blog this afternoon to share a project I created with one of the fabulous DIY Pallet Shapes! The Mason Jar DIY Pallet Shape is the perfect project for summer and I wanted to create a fun, personalized door sign.
I began by lightly sanding the front of my pallet; this step is not necessary but helps the paint go on smoothly. Using chalk paint in a light mint green, I painted the bottom portion of my pallet. I allowed areas of the wood to show through to give the pallet a distressed look. Once dry, I marked off the "lid" of the pallet with painters tape and applied grey chalk paint. I love the two colors together!
Next, using a cut file and a dark grey matte vinyl I applied my "Hello Summer" to the center of my pallet. I sanded the area where I would apply my vinyl to ensure it would attach to the wood. I purchased a summer garland from a local craft store and affixed the top and bottom with floral wire.
Then using a hot glue gun, I affixed different sized flowers around my wreath to accent.
To finish, I punched holes at the top in order to string seam binding for hanging my pallet. Clear Scraps offers a large variety of DIY Pallet Shapes for your home decor projects! Visit the Clear Scraps shop to see the other great designs! Have a great day!
