Hello Summer Mason Jar DIY Pallet Shape

Hi friends! It's Jennifer on the blog this afternoon to share a project I  created with one of the fabulous DIY Pallet Shapes!  The Mason Jar DIY Pallet Shape is the perfect project for summer  and I  wanted to create a fun, personalized door sign.

Clear_Scraps_Mason_Jar_DIY_Pallet

I  began by lightly sanding the front of my pallet; this step is not necessary but helps the paint go on smoothly.  Using chalk paint in a light mint green, I  painted the bottom portion of my pallet. I  allowed areas of the wood to show through to give the pallet a distressed look.  Once dry, I  marked off the "lid" of the pallet with painters tape and applied grey chalk paint. I  love the two colors together!

Clear_Scraps_Mason_Jar_DIY_Pallet2

Next, using a cut file and a dark grey matte vinyl I   applied my "Hello Summer" to the center of my pallet.  I  sanded the area where I  would apply my vinyl to ensure it would attach to the wood.  I  purchased a summer garland from a local craft store and affixed the top and bottom with floral wire.

Clear_Scraps_Mason_Jar_DIY_Pallet3

Then using a hot glue gun, I  affixed different sized flowers around my wreath to accent.

Clear_Scraps_Mason_Jar_DIY_Pallet5

To finish, I  punched holes at the top  in order to string seam binding for hanging my pallet. Clear Scraps offers a large variety of DIY Pallet Shapes for your home decor projects!  Visit the Clear Scraps shop to see the other great designs! Have a  great day!

Banner Flag

Happy 4th of July, ok so I am a little early.

Welcome to this week's project.  I have created this super fun and cute banner flag.

This is perfect for those 4th of July parties!!  Just imagine having several of these hanging around!!

Lets get into how I created this one!

Watermarked-20190625_140503

I used the Small Chip Pennant Banner Set and the Stars 6x6 Stencil for this project.  I first cut my paper into strips to create the layout of the flag.  Boy was that tedious figuring out the measurements to make them all even.  I then adhered them to the wood banners.

Watermarked-20190625_140509

I then broke out my stencil and with a white gel pen I colored in the stars.  And yes there are 50 of them!!  Wouldn't be a flag with no stars, right?

Watermarked-20190625_140509

I then took some seam binding and used that to attached all 3 banners together and used it so that I can hang my flag proudly!

I hope you like what I have created for you!

Now lets celebrate!!

Thanks,

Kim :)

Creating a Custom Disney Album with Clear Scraps

IMG_3107wm

If you follow my blog or Facebook you already know this, but if not WE LOVE DISNEY!  When I saw this Photo album I just knew I had to give it a try!   Disclaimer notice: I have never made a mini album like this! ever.   But Clear Scraps Albums made it so easy to do!  I paired the Clear Scraps Mixable Magical Album  with some Simple Stories papers that I have been hoarding forever!

To create the album I traced each page and cut the papers to fit. You can see all the dimension in the album!

I have included some close ups of the album.

Scallop Wood Phone Stand by Clear Scraps~

Hi, Connie here with one more wood phone stand by Clear Scraps.  These are so fun to make and great for placing right along side your phone charger.  Makes the area look so cute!!!  Clear Scraps has many different phone and tablet stands.  I will be creating with the Scallop Wood Phone stand.

Scallop phone stand1_clear scraps_c.mercer
I love using acrylic paint to decorate the phone stands but paper is beautiful too.  I watered down some green paint and brushed it on the phone stand.  By watering down the paint it acts more like a stain.  I then sanded it lightly after it was good and dry.  I added some free hand stems with leaves (stencils work great, too) and then speckled with black paint.  Pretty simple project to create!!!  Clear Scraps has beautiful 4 X 6 stencils that look great on the wood phone stands.  Check them out ~

Just for a re-cap here is a picture of both phone stands that I created this month, the Vintage Wood/ wildflower and the Scallop Wood/ leaf stems~

Great projects to complete fast and they make beautiful gifts.  Everyone has a phone :)

Poolside Cutie

Hey friends! Today I am sharing this cute layout featuring Clear Scraps 12x12 Acrylic Sheets and Mirror Embellishments, as well as my adorable grand-daughter in her new sunglasses.

PoolsideCutie_LeahCrowe

The beauty of acrylic is the WOW see-through factor. Wouldn't you agree?
I cut out the mermaid scale background on my silhouette and attached it to the front of the acrylic sheet.
From there, I just built some fun layers to create this adorable layout.

Here's what the layout looks like against white cardstock. I love the look both ways.

PoolsideCutie2_LeahCrowe

I adhered some fun stickers to the butterfly embellishment, if you look close you can see the reflection of the sky in the mirror.

Thank You Wood Card by Steph

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today using one of the Clear Scraps Wood Card/Mini Album pages

Thankyou-card-clearscraps-2-steph-ackerman

The Thank You Wood card measures approximately 3 3/4" x 5 3/4".  These 1/8" Birchwood panels can be used as cards or album covers.  So I chose to create a card.

Thankyou-card-clearscraps-steph-ackerman

I first painted my wood panels with gray paint.  Once dry, I used Verafine Ink with a script stamp randomly about the cover.  For definition I inked the edges of both panels with rose-gold ink.

Thankyou-card-clearscraps-3-steph-ackerman

I added 2 strips of Rinea Ebony/Gold Foiled Paper along the left edge.  For definition, I added a panel of Ebony/Gold Foiled Paper behind the panel.  You can see the gold foil peeking out from the die cut Thank You!

Thankyou-card-clearscraps-5-steph-ackerman

Inside I added a die cut panel of Ebony/Gold Foiled Paper along with a  coordinating sentiment.

Finally, I tied the card together with gold ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by.

Clear Scraps Accordion Shaker Album--Stars & Stripes

Hello everyone!  Laura here with you today, sharing

one of Clear Scraps fun Accordion Shaker Albums!

These come in many different shapes, a window,

a present, a boat, lighthouse.....for this project,

I chose a favorite, the Mason Jar Album!

Clear_Scraps_Accordian Shaker Album_Stars & Stripes Mason Jar(2)

These are so much fun to make! The first page is a shaker

that has a piece of matching pre-cut acrylic and you can

add beads, or use sequins, like I did here.

Clear Scraps has some of the highest quality sequins

that are in gorgeous color blends.  You can find them

in the store HERE.  I used the Winter Blend.

For the front cover, I painted the album with gray

and red acrylic paint, then when dry, used

glitter glue to give it sparkle and shine.

Next step is to cover both sides of the jar "pages"

with paper.  Just trace, cut out, and glue on.

Then once you have all the pages covered,

you can start to decorate each page!

Clear_Scraps_Accordian Shaker Album_Stars&Stripes page 2 & 3(1)

I chose to use different colors of paper to cover the jar,

but you can use the same paper, paint, stain, ink, etc.

Love this about the wooden Clear Scraps items,

you can create with them any way you choose!

Clear_Scraps_Accordian Shaker Album_Stars&Stripes page 3&4

To decorate I used paper, journal cards, chipboard,

bling, twine, stickers.  You can use any of your favorite

embellishments to make it your own.

Clear_Scraps_Accordian Shaker Album_Stars&Stripes page 5&6

This could be used as a mini album (you can see I left

room for pictures) or as a home decor banner, or

as a combo, it could stand on a table as home decor

with the pictures displayed.

Clear_Scraps_Accordian Shaker Album_Stars&Stripes back page

The album is tied together with twine and ribbon, but

you can use rings too.  I liked the festive look of the

red and blue twine for this one!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Stop back soon for more inspiration!

Floral Wood Card with Clear Scraps & Joy Clair Stamps

JC CS Banner

Hi everyone!  It's Annie, and today, as part of our collaboration with Joy Clair Stamps, I'm sharing a fun floral wood card that's perfect to send a happy hello.  The wood cards from Clear Scraps can be customized in tons of ways and can be a fun departure from ordinary paper cards.

Floral Wood Card by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Main

I started by painting all sides of both pieces of the Hearts Wood Card a bright spring green with acrylic paint.  Once dry, I laid the 6x6 Quatrefoil Stencil on top of the card front and sponged gold gilding wax through it around the edges using a foam blending tool.

Next, I stamped several images from the Doodle Flowers stamp set onto white cardstock using alcohol-friendly ink.  After coloring them with Copic markers, I fussycut them out and adhered them to the front of the card using strong liquid glue.

Floral Wood Card by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Inside

I adhered a pieced of patterned paper (sponged around the edges with the same gold gilding wax) to the front of the other card panel so that it would show through the cute heart cut-out on the card front.  Another little floral image added to the interior corner brings the doodled style of the images inside.

Floral Wood Card by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Detail

To finished the card off, I knotted the two panels together using a bit of rustic twine and added a tiny gold glitter die-cut greeting with strong liquid adhesive just above the hearts.

I hope you enjoyed this fun wood card project and thanks so much for stopping by today.  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for even more inspiration during our collaboration week with Joy Clair Stamps!

Clear Scraps XL Script Wood Quote--Love Our Home

Joy Clair

Hi there everyone!  Laura joining you this afternoon!

I'm sharing a project that would work as a stand

alone project for home decor, or you could use it

on a larger page (like a Clear Scraps Acrylic 12x12)

with a family photo, or even in a frame.

Clear_Scraps_Script Wood Quote_Love Our Home

You know I love my home decor, so I've left it as that.

But a lot of options!  The project started with the

Clear Scraps Our Home XL Script Wood Quote.

These quotes can be used in so many ways,

and there are new ones coming soon in

addition to all the wonderful quotes already

available!  You can find them all HERE.

I painted this one with gray acrylic paint.

Clear_Scraps_XL Wood Word_Love Our Home close up 2

I also brushed around the edges with black distress ink.

The sentiments are from a Joy Clair stamp set, stamped

in black ink on white cardstock, then trimmed them down,

and inked around the edges before gluing them to the

XL Wood Quote.  I highlighted some of my favorite things

about family and what I want our home to be filled with...

laughter, smiles and hugs.

The heart is one of the Clear Scraps DIY Mini Pallets

Clear_Scraps_XL Wood Word_Love Our Home close up

These mini pallets are cute, and oh so fun to create with!

I chose the heart shape to reflect the "our home" feeling.

It's been painted with coral acrylic paint, then I used the

Joy Clair stamps, Versamark ink and black embossing

powder, to add the swirls/flowers to the edges of the

heart.  They help to frame the stamped "hugs and smiles"

sentiments that are similar to what I used on the

Our Home XL Word Quote

The flowers in the upper right corner, were stamped

using black ink, then I used watercolors to color them.

I cut them out and layered them in the corner using

glue and foam tape.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Stop back soon for more inspiration!

Partnering with Joy Clair today~

Hi, Connie here with the Scallop Wood Phone Stand by Clear Scraps and it is decorated with Joy Clair stamped images.  The images and sentiments are stamped directly on the painted wood.  We are partnering with Joy Clair Stamps this week! So fun!

Partnering with CS

How cool is that?  Super easy and looks beautiful.  Let me show you~

Wood phone stand4_clear scraps_c.mercer

Instructions:
Wood phone stand1_clear scraps_c.mercer
1. Sand the wood lightly before adding color.
2. Paint all sides (I used a metallic acrylic paint) and then sand lightly again.
Wood phone stand2_clear scraps_c.mercer
3. The next step is making a temporary stencil.  I did this by die cutting an oval shape on a 4" X 6" piece of white cardstock.
4. Use the negative and lay it on the front of the phone stand.  Use a soft sponge and add color to the inside of the oval shape.

Wood phone stand3_clear scraps_c.mercer
5. Stamp the sentiment inside the oval shape.  I used Archival/Jet Black ink.  It is a good idea to test the stamp, several times, so you get  good coverage when stamped on the wood.
6. Remove the temporary stencil and add the border to the top of the phone stand.
7. Outline the oval with a no.2 paint brush and white acrylic paint.
8. Stamp the leaves and ivy to the bottom of the oval.  Paint the inside of the leaves with green acrylic paint.

Wood phone stand7_clear scraps_c.mercer
9. Add a paper flower to the center of leaves and splat with metallic paint (used to paint wood phone stand with).
10. Stamp small highlights and place a white pearl in the center.

Hearts Wood Card with Joy Clair

CS&JoyClair

Good afternoon, friends! Clear Scraps has teamed up with Joy Clair this week and its been so much fun.

Today I am sharing my Clear Scraps Hearts Wood Card chock full of more goodies from Clear Scraps and cuteness from Joy Clair!HeartsWoodCard_LeahCrowe

I'm pretty much just smitten with the 4x6 Quarterfoil stencil right now. I used distress ink and a paintbrush to apply it to the wood card on the cover and inside panels. I then used the Joy Clair stamps and stazon ink to stamp a sentiment on the wood card base. As you can see it made a lovely impression, especially over the existing ink already on the card from the stencil.

I stamped and colored several of the cute critters from the Deer Friend stamp set using Prismacolor colored pencils, then popped them up on foam tape for some dimension.

Here's a look at the inside.

His & Hers Key Holders with Joy Clair Stamps

Hello Everyone!  Welcome to this weeks project.  This week we are partnering with Joy Clair Stamps

64226687_10156047520426603_5923275486238081024_o

I have created these super cute His & Hers Key Holders.  I have used the Mason Jar Mini Pallet shapes and the Wheel Gears Chipboard Embellishments.  I just love how these have turned out!  Lets get into how I have created these!

Watermarked-20190610_135011

First I started off by painting both the mini pallets with Ivory acrylic paint.  I only need to give them just one coat of paint.
Watermarked-20190610_135011

I then inked the edges of the mini pallets.  For him, I used walnut stain and black soot distress ink.  For her I used Victorian velvet distress ink.  I then used the walnut stain and black soot stain on the wheel gears.
Watermarked-20190610_135011

Nest I used victorian velvet, forest moss and crushed olive distress inks with the Paisley Bouquet Stamp Set from Joy Clair Stamps.  I stamped the images on white card stock which I the fussy cut out.
Watermarked-20190610_135011

I then used the ink and stamps on the mason jar mini pallet.  Just randomly stamping.
Watermarked-20190610_135011

I then adhered the stamped images and the wheel gears to the mini pallets.
Watermarked-20190610_135011

I then took some wood knob pieces that I have inked and glued them to the bottom of the mini pallets.  This is where keys can be hung from.
Watermarked-20190610_135011Watermarked-20190610_135011

I absolutely love how these turned out.  Can you just picture these hung up with his and her key chains hanging from them?  I can!!!

Thanks for joining me on this little tutorial!

Butterfly Wood Card and Joy Clair Stamps

Cross Promotions Joy Clair - ClearScraps

Hello! It's Jennifer with the second post of the day of our cross promotion with Joy Clair Stamps!  Keep checking back everyday for inspiration from our design team, as well as from the ladies at Joy Clair! Using the Blank Wood Card set, I  created a mini album with the Butterfly Kisses Clear Stamps.

Clear_Scraps_Blank_Wood_Card_mini

Clear_Scraps_Blank_Wood_Card_mini2

I  began by lightly painting all sides of my Blank Wood Card set with white acrylic paint. I  did add water to my paint to thin it out in order to allow the wood grain to show through.

Clear_Scraps_Blank_Wood_Card_mini3

Once my paint was dry, I  used StazOn ink in black to stamp my butterfly cluster to the front of my album.  Because its a porous surface you can use a pigment ink, but since I  painted it first I  used StazOn to prevent any smudging.  After my album was assembled, I  lightly painted Distress Oxide ink into the bare sections of the butterflies to add some color.

Clear_Scraps_Blank_Wood_Card_mini4

Using vellum, I  stamped this "let your dreams fly" sentiment with StazOn. I  then used a circle punch to cut the sentiment out and layered it over a neutral print.  I  secured the two together with a small staple in lieu of using any adhesive. I  then attached the circles with pop dots and tied bakers twine around to accent.

Clear_Scraps_Blank_Wood_Card_mini7

Here is a photo of my inside cover; I  trimmed down one of the 4x6 journaling cards to fit the Blank Card and added stickers, chipboard, and a mini doily.

Clear_Scraps_Blank_Wood_Card_mini8

I  used a 12x12 Acrylic Sheet and trimmed down to 3.5 x 5 inches to create a page insert.  Using the 6 Inch Monarch Butterfly Mascil, I  applied a layer of modeling paste to the acrylic.  Once dry, I  lightly applied Distress Oxide Ink to add color.

Clear_Scraps_Blank_Wood_Card_mini6

Here is the end result of the modeling paste + ink! I  blended the two colors in some areas to give contrast.

Clear_Scraps_Blank_Wood_Card_mini9

My next pages are cut from smooth white cardstock which I  embellished as well as stamped with sentiments from the stamp set.  The book can be used for journaling or wallet sized photos can be added as well.

Clear_Scraps_Blank_Wood_Card_mini10

Clear_Scraps_Blank_Wood_Card_mini11

Here, I  folded a vellum envelope and filled with the Princess Sequins from Clear Scraps!

Clear_Scraps_Blank_Wood_Card_mini12

For my second acrylic page, I  used the Butterfly Flock 4x6 Stencil and Modeler Creme in Champagne.  It goes on smooth and dries fairly quick.

Clear_Scraps_Blank_Wood_Card_mini5

After my Modellier Creme was dry, I  added patterned paper and a metal charm with bakers twine.

Happy Graduation Pallet

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today and this month Clear Scraps has teamed up with Joy Clair Stamps.

Joy clair

I'm using with the Deco Medium DIY Pallet Shape to showcase a photo from my son's college graduation.

Graduate-clearscraps-joyclair-steph-ackerman

At 8" x 8", this 1/8" birch wood pallet needs no preparation or sanding.   It's such a wonderful panel that can be painted or stained or left "as is". I chose to leave the pallet "as is", adding a limited amount of color.

Graduate-clearscraps-joyclair-4-steph-ackerman

I found Joy Clair's Going Places Stamp Set was perfect to use as accents for the graduation photo.  Once I determined where the photo would be placed, I stamped a selection of balloons and the sign post with black ink directly on the pallet.  I arranged the sign post so that it would overlap the panels.

Graduate-clearscraps-joyclair-3-steph-ackerman

I ran a brown ink pad lightly across the panel and around the edges.

Graduate-clearscraps-joyclair-2-steph-ackerman

I added color to the balloons with Memento Markers.

Graduate-clearscraps-joyclair-1-steph-ackerman

I matted the photo and placed it on a slight angle.  I then stamped a number of the phrases from the Going Places stamp set on white cardstock, punched them out and matted them with kraft cardstock.  These are perfect stamps for a graduation layout.

Thanks for stopping by.

Steph
