Hi everyone! Laura here today with a little
springtime bouquet for you with this cute little
mason jar home decor canvas!
This project started with one of the cute Mini Pallets from Clear Scraps.
I started with a quick light coat of white paint as a primer
to make sure the wood surface was all covered.
The next step was to paint over this with a good thick coat of
aqua/blue colored acrylic paint. After that was completely
dry, I painted over the surface with white crackle paint
to give the jar surface that aged texture.
After it dried, I rubbed over the surface a bit with
black distress ink to make the crackle show up
a bit more, then it was time to make the lid.
I applied embossing ink to the lid area only, then
embossed with silver embossing powder.
I repeated this over part of the lid to make it a little
uneven and a bit thicker to make it look more like metal.
To create the bouquet, I trimmed pieces of flowers
off of a floral bouquet stem and tied them
together tightly with some twine after they were
arranged the way I wanted them. (I held them
behind the jar as I did this to make sure the
flowers looked good "in" the jar!).
This bouquet was glued behind the jar using
Beacon Adhesive, which I also used to glue the jar
to the canvas after I tied on a bit of twine around
the bottom of the jar lid. A few stickers and pearls,
added a little springtime touch to finish it off.
