Hi, Connie here with a journal page using the fabulous stencils by Clear Scraps. I started out using the 3 x 12 border stencils but quickly realized the random patterns from the 6" stencils looked so cool. I love cool !!!! The stencils, by Clear Scraps, are one of many products "made in the USA" by this family. Seven stencils were used on these journal pages.
The background is created by using a gel press and cleaning my brushes on this page. Everything is just random. No right or wrong way to create the background. The pocket watches were added using modeling paste. After the modeling paste dried I rubbed brown ink over the pocket watch images to give more dimension to the page. The list of stencils used (randomly) will be listed at the end of the post.
The coffee cups were stenciled on using brown ink and then highlighted with white acrylic paint. The hearts are added with a stencil and then highlighted with white acrylic paint. I love adding white and black color to the pages. Random pops of color look great as well as wavy lines. Get your old toothbrush and splat spots of color on the page using watered down acrylic paint. You can go for drips or more of a spray effect. Play around with the toothbrush to figure out the look you like.
