Buffalo Plaid Phone Stand

I am on a Buffalo Plaid kick!  I love how it looks and I love using it in my home decor.  Christine joining you today and I am going to show you one of our new Wood Phone Stands decorated with Gray Buffalo Plaid!  

I painted the entire background of the Hearts Wood Phone Stand - lots of paint tape and patience involved in that process.  The nice thing was I really only needed two colors of paint, gray and white!  Because this phone stand is made of wood, I opted to prime it first with some white spray paint.  Generally I like wood grain to show thru, but knowing I was going to create a pattern, I wanted to minimize that aspect.

Inspired by the hearts that are already cut out of the stand, I opted for a love phrase for my stand!  I cut out the "Faith, Hope, Love" phrase on my electronic cutting machine and then adhered it using transfer tape.

My phone fits on this stand perfectly - even with the knob on the back of it, the shelf still holds it well!  We've got lots of options for phone stands in the Clear Scraps store, be sure to swing by and check them all out!

Clear Scraps Acrylic Clipboard - You're in My Heart

Hi everyone!  Laura here to share a little

 romance with you all today!

And what goes better with romance than....

a mixed media project!

Ok, maybe not everyone's idea of romance,

but I think once you see how fun using different

inks, stamps and stencils, you might just fall in love (haha!)

The scraps of paper I used, and the stickers, are pretty,

and they made a perfect little card for my clipboard.

I tied on a little bow, added a few puffy heart stickers,

and a lovely lacy punched border along the bottom edge.

But the clipboard is the star of this romantic project.

shape is where this project starts.

Clear Scraps has many different shapes of these cuties,

and you can find them all HERE.

First I peeled off the protective plastic covering on

both sides, and then used alcohol inks in 3 coordinating

colors and applied them to one side using a foam applicator.

Next up, I flipped it over and stamped the acrylic piece

with a sheet music stamp using black Staz-On ink.

I love this look on it's own, but I wanted to soften it

a little bit, so I pulled out my Clear Scraps stencils!

I used the 6" Damask stencil and some white

pearl texture paste/dimensional paint and

applied it over the top of the stamped sheet

music image, using a pallet knife.

Ok, I can't lie here.....I thought this was so pretty,

I almost left it just as a mixed media mini clipboard.

It's definitely a stand alone project! 

But in the end, being a romance project and all,

I decided to clip on that sweet little romantic

sentiment, so I could give it to someone special.

Mason Jar Wood Pallet Decor by Nancy

 

Hello, everyone!

It's Nancy here with a new project to share with you!

This is another fun new product project, using:

Mason Jar DIY Pallet Shape,

and the

Create XL Script Wood Word.

I had lots of fun with paint on this project.

I also took process photos but they somehow got deleted!

I can't find them anywhere!

Here's the finished project:

I began by painting the entire piece with brown acrylic paint.

When it was dry, I coated it with crackle medium.

When that was dry, I painted the top with black paint,

and the bottom with buttercream paint.

It's so fun to watch the crackle happen! :o)

I inked the "Create" with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

When it was dry, I glued it in place.

Finally, I tied a ribbon around the top of the jar,

and added an extra double-loop bow!

Butterfly Pallet By Steph

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with one of the new pallets - Circle Medium DIY Pallet and Love Chipboard Word Title.

At approximately 8", the Medium Circle Pallet has lots of room to create a wonderful wall hanging.  I started by painting it black as I wanted my decorative elements to pop.

I cut Rinea Fuschia/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper smaller than the pallet then distressed the edges before adhering it to the panel.

Next, I die cut butterflies from Rinea Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and adhered them to the Fuschia Foiled Paper to serve as the base of my project.

Then I adhered a selection of items from my stash - tickets, flowers, and envelopes.  

Additional butterflies were added along with Princess Sequins representing the butterfly trails.

Finally, I inked Love and adhered it across the pallet.

Wood Word on a Scrapbook Layout

The home decor and crafts route is an obvious choice when it comes to the XL Wood Words/Quotes.  But have you considered how you can work them into a scrapbook layout?  Christine joining you today to showcase how I used the Hello XL Wood Word on a Scrapbook Layout!

When I first laid eyes on the different XL Wood Words, scrapbook layout was not what came to mind.  But the more I looked at them, the more I realized they could be a really cool title and/or focal point for a layout.  

There are so many options for how to color these!  I opted for a quick and easy white spray paint.  

This one measures about 9.75 inches by 4 inches tall, so it easily fits on a 12 X 12 inch scrapbook layout.  All the measurements are on the website - so you will know what's coming before you buy it!  I made a process video for this whole scrapbook layout - you can check it out here.

Tablet Stand with a Wood Quote by Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a fun project using the acrylic Tablet Stand and one of the newly released Wood Quotes by Clear Scraps.  The Wood Quotes are really a neat product and there are so many ways to use them.   I have combined the Tablet Stand with one of the Wood Quotes to decorate the front.

The wood quote was painted with acrylic paint, sanded down (to remove rough edges) and speckled with white acrylic paint.  Matching pattern paper was double matted and adhered to the front of the tablet stand.  White acrylic paint was speckled on the acrylic also.   The wood quotes look amazing on all types of items.  

Clear Scraps has ten newly released Wood Quote words.  The quotes can be used separately or with the new Medium DIY Pallet shapes by Clear Scraps.   Here is an example of a wood quote on a pallet shape.  So pretty anyway you want to create with them.

New Chipboard embellishment cards

Hi Clear Scraps fam! Leah here with you today sharing these super cute chipboard embellishments that I used to make two cards.

This one features the Girl Cloud cutout.

I cut down the 12x12 Acrylic and turned them into 4x6" cards.

Using these chipboard cutouts on acrylic allows you to create 3d looks by allowing stuff to show through from the back to the front. Notice the star behind the G?

Once I placed the star behind the front panel, I then assembled the girl cloud to the front. So fun!

The baby pin chipboard embellishments I decided to paint pink as well since I used it on the birthday girl card.

Vintage Garden Canvas

Hello! It's Jennifer back on the blog to share another project I  created with one of the fabulous new releases!  The Farmhouse Wood Stencils go perfect with the Medium Pallet shapes but you can use them on other surfaces as well. I  found a burlap canvas at my local big box craft store and thought it would go perfect with the Vintage Garden Farmhouse Wood Stencil! 

I   applied acrylic white paint with a foam paint brush. The burlap soaks up the paint so I  went slow and applied at least three coats.  My end result wasn't even but I  think it gives my project a distressed/vintage look.  Before adding embellishments, I  used chalk ink in brown along the edges of my canvas. 

Here, I  used one of the Monarch Butterfly Chipboard Embellishments that I  painted white. I  then heat embossed with a glitter teal color to give it extra pop.  Then using my Silhouette, I  cut layered flowers with different patterns and fastening brads in the center.  I  also adhered a few paper flowers in with my embellishments for more dimension. 

I   also utilized my butterfly hand punches to add additional accents. I  found using my hot glue gun worked best with affixing my embellishments.

It's Nancy back here with you today!

Today I'm sharing some more fun new products:

the Our Home XL Script Wood Quote, and

the Square Medium DIY Pallet Shape.

Here's what they look like together:

I started by measuring and cutting the paper 1/8" smaller 

all around than the wood. 

I inked all the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink,

before adhering it to the wood. 

I inked the entire Our Home wood piece 

using Peeled Paint Distress Ink,

with an inking tool.

I then cut and adhered a scrap of cardstock

behind the heart "o" in Home.

Finally, I adhered the word piece in place

on the decorated pallet.

I added a hanger on the back for hanging.

Another option would be to punch holes in the pallet,

and hang it with twine or wire.

Papers: MME - In Bloom, Scrap of Matching Cardstock;
Inks: Distress Ink - Walnut Stain, Peeled Paint.

Clear Scraps Wood Card Home Decor - Be My Valentine

Hi everyone!  Laura here to share with you today!

I'm adding another cute insert to the home decor frame project!

If you remember my posts for this little project, it started

with a fall insert created on a Clear Scraps Blank Wood Card.

Next came the Christmas insert using another wood card,

and some of Clear Scraps amazing chipboard embellishments.

This month I'm sharing the Valentine's version with you!

I'm just over the moon in love with this project, it's so easy

to take a few scraps of paper (a GREAT way to use up those

scraps from scrapbooking, card making, or any paper crafting

project!) and then a few stickers, layer them up with some

basic cardstock on the little wood card, and frame it up!

This time I just painted the card with white acrylic paint,

and then brushed around the edges with some gray

paint once the white was dry.  But you can stencil it,

stamp it, ink it, whatever you choose.  Or you could

even leave it just the plain wood card for a cool rustic look.

For this project, I created the center card and framed it on

red cardstock, then glued it onto the wood card using Beacon Adhesive

once it was good and dry.  Then I glued the wood card onto the 5x7"

black cardstock background, and put it into the frame.

Another great addition to my sweet and simple home decor project.

And it's great because it's almost like storing a few greeting cards,

and I've got all the holidays covered in the one item.

Buffalo Plaid Wood Pallet

I have been loving all the Buffalo Plaid patterns on everything everywhere.  But it's not super spring friendly in it's natural state with the red and black.  I have noticed it in a spring friendly form in home decor too - with a gray and white pattern.  I decided to try to replicate it on my own using this new Plaque Medium Diy Pallet! Christine joining you today with a DIY pallet project!

So let's start off being totally clear - recreating Buffalo Plaid on your own with painters tape and paint is no easy task.  Patience and time are definitely a requirement!  That said, in the end I was really happy with how this turned out!

In addition to lots of paint on the background, I also added wood stain to the wood word "Believe" and secured that onto my pallet!

I opted for wood stain here instead of paint so that the natural look would come thru a little more.  The versatility of these products is what makes them so great!  You can use the Plaque Medium DIY Pallet Shape for so many different things - adding quotes or wood, painting it, staining it!  The possibilities are endless!

Clear Scraps Acrylic Sheet - Love You Always

Hello Everyone!  Laura here with you today, sharing a little February inspiration,

romance, and yes, a little love....with some  Clear Scraps acrylic and wood words!

When this one was created, I was thinking, wall hanging, or even

scrapbook LO with a picture.  But it looks great without a picture too, so

I decided to leave it that way.  It's a nice option to have it as

a Valentine's, or really everyday,  home decor piece

(you know how I love a good home decor piece!).

This project started with the Clear Scraps Acrylic Sheet. 

These are so much fun to play with!  If you haven't

tried one yet, don't be afraid to give one a try!

To give it a little interest, I brushed the edges with gray

acrylic paint as you can see here along the upper edge:

Super simple to do,  just use a paint dauber, or if you want,

you can use a foam brush or foam dauber that you'd use with inks.

It gives the acrylic sheet a little interest and makes a nice frame

for the project.  The little "peeling wallpaper" look at the top

left is easy to do, just make a little tear in the paper, ink the

edges and rough them up and roll slightly, then take a small

scrap of contrasting paper and glue it behind.

Clear Scraps makes these wonderful XL Script Wood Words.

To create the look on the bare wood, it's painted with

gray acrylic paint.  Then after it's dry, it's stamped with

black archival ink (I used a sheet music stamp).

To finish it off, the edges of the word are brushed with

black distress ink using a foam applicator.

Then everything was glued down with Beacon Adhesive.

It works perfectly with the acrylic page and the wood word!

Hearts Wood Phone Stand by Clear Scraps~

Hi, Connie here!!!  Clear Scraps have hit it out of the park with the new Hearts Wood Phone Stand, pretty cool product.  They have two other styles in the Clear Scraps online store.  You have to check them out!!   So fun and so useful!!  I love useful and did I mention cute, it has to be cute.

I did a little something different with this phone stand.  Sometime my phone is on charge when I'm using it and I need to write something down.  It is so nice to have the notepad at my finger tip.  Let me show you how cute this phone stand looks~

This is a view of the backside of the Hearts Wood Phone Stand.  Hubby even thought it was pretty clever.  Super easy to add a pocket, for a notepad, to the back of the phone stand.   There is even room for a pen or pencil in the pocket too.  

Instructions;
1. Paint the wood phone stand , on both sides and let it dry.
2. I used a vintage library card holder for my note pad pocket.  I added decorative paper to the note pad(back) and the front of the library card pocket.  I used strong double sided tape.
3. The next step is decorate the front of the Hearts Wood Phone Stand. I painted an Ivy around the hearts and then added decorative paper behind the cutout hearts (so it would show through the cutout hearts on the front).  
4. The next step is to attach the pocket to the back of the phone stand.  I used Beacon 527.  Great wet glue for this type of project.

Mini wood pallets with Leah

Hi Clear Scraps friends! Today I'm sharing these brand new miniature wooden pallets. They are so fun to work with, and I'll share with you how I created them.

Bunny Mini Pallet Shape

When I was placing the paper on the wood slats, I wanted the butterfly located near the neck. A trick I figured out was to hold the paper up to a light source, along with the pallet, to figure out placement of the patterns in relation to the position on the wood.

Then I just carefully turned the paper over and marked a few spots on the paper so I could lift the wood away and add my glue. This helps to get the wood back in the spot I chose.

Using a craft knife, cut away the excess paper and embellish.

Heart Mini Pallet Shape

This one came together quickly. Using the Modellier Cream from the 2019 January Q Kit, I applied the cream all around the edge of the heart using my fingertip.

Once dried, I traced the heart onto a piece of paper, and cut inside the traced image by 1/4".

I popped up the heart paper using foam dots, then enbellished with enamel dots. Voila!

Jar Mini Pallet Shape

This one is my favorite. The jar and the twine just make me happy. I started by adhering the jar pallet to pattern paper. I used my craft knife to cut in between the slats on the backside of the jar.

Then flip the jar pattern side up to finish cutting the paper by gently placing your craft knife against the edge of the cut line.

Once the inside slats are cut, finish up by removing the excess paper around the edges.

Next, add some twine to the top of the jar.

Embellish. These are perfect for mini albums, scrapbook pages, or magnets!
