This Is Us Wood Pallet

Hello friends! Jennifer on the blog today to share my first new release project!  It has been so hard to keep all of the fun, new goodies under wraps these past few months! I  know our design team has had a great time creating with the new designs and can't wait to show you!

I  started with the Deco Medium Pallet Shape as my base and gave it a few coats of chalk paint in grey. This is probably my go to color right now but it looks so classy with the birch wood!

Next, I  cut a 6.5x 6.5 piece of background paper into sections to adhere to each slat. Using a liquid adhesive works best when working with the birch wood.

I  laid that aside to paint my This Is Us XL Script Wood Quote. And wouldn't you know that it fits perfectly on the Medium Pallet! :)  In fact, many of the new releases can "go together"!   For this piece, I  used black acrylic paint because I  wanted a nice contrast!

Before adhering my Wood Quote to the Medium Pallet, I  used my sanding tool to distress the edges to give it a worn look.  I  did this also to the edges of the Deco Pallet but its not as evident on my photo.

Next, I  was ready to adhere my Wood Quote to the Pallet.  You can use liquid adhesive but for extra hold, I  chose to use my hot glue gun.

I  tucked some of the floral die cuts under and around my Wood Quote to accent.  I  even allowed a few to hang over the edges of my pallet.

Here, I    added additional floral die cuts as well as flair and a sentiment sticker.

Since I'm a scrapbooker at heart, I   wanted to include a photo. The collection I  used conveniently had a frame die cut that I  popped up with foam tape. I  added a fun gold glitter clothes pin at the top as well as some pennants and die cut butterfly at the bottom.  The wood is sturdy enough to use a Cropodile or Big Bite to punch holes at the top to add ribbon if you want to hang your creation.
