Hearts Wood Phone Stand

Hello! Jennifer here to share the new Hearts Wood Phone Stand that was included in the January 2019 Q Kit!  This is one of three new Wood Phone Stands released for the show this month! I  used the beautiful Graphic 45 8x8 Flutter paper pad for my project!

I  began by painting my phone stand with  white chalk paint.  Chalk paint works well with the birch wood; it looks classy and goes on smooth! 

I  backed the cut out hearts on the phone stand with a patterned paper to "show through" the negative spaces.  Then using a butterfly hand punch, I      adhered different patterns onto the hearts.  Included in the kit are Want 2 Scrap Bling Strips that are perfect for accenting your smaller embellishments! I  placed a couple in the center of each butterfly as well as at the bottom of the hearts. I wanted it to look like the heart sections were shakers.

For the center of my phone stand, I  selected a floral background and added a punched border at the top. I  then adhered the "Flutter" card from one of the patterns in the paper pad.  Since there are two of each pattern, I    fussy cut the dragonfly and flower and popped them up with foam tape.  I    also fussy cut a butterfly from the page and adhered it to the top left. I  finished by adding some bling dots to the center.

At the top of my phone stand, I  added some additional fussy cutting of flowers as well as added additional hand punched butterflies.

Winter Tag set

Hey, Clear Scraps friends. Leah here with you today sharing these adorable miniature tags using the Creating Made Easy Jan Q 2019 kit.

From the kit, I used the modellier creme, Clear Scraps 6" raindrop heart mascil, Graphic 45 paper and Studio light paper.

I started by applying the modellier creme to the Studio light paper and set it aside to dry.

   

Inside the graphic 45 paper pad is a tag template, cut that out.

Once your stenciled paper dries, turn it over, and position your tag template on there and trace out the template.

Cut just inside the traced lines, fold in half and decorate.

Using the same template and different pattern paper, you can create different size tags.
For this one, we'll create a tag holder and insert.
Fold your paper in half, and align your template on the fold.

Cut against part of the template, slide the template to the left, and finish cutting against the template.

Glue the bottom and open side edge, leaving the top open to insert a tag.

Trace half the template on another sheet of paper and cut out for your tag insert.

Decorate and voila!

Using the technique as above, here's another tag. So easy and fun to give handwritten thank you notes.

I Love Us Heart Pallet

Hello, everyone!

It's Nancy Nickel here today! I'm sharing a project using some of the fabulous new Clear Scraps products!
The shop is just FULL of great new goodies!

 

Today I'm featuring the Heart Medium DIY Pallet Shape,
along with the I Love Us XL Script Wood Quote.

These are both fabulous wood pieces, with endless creative possibilities!

Here's what I came up with:

Here's how I did it:

First, I used the Rose Pink Pickling Gel to stain the heart pallet.
I set it aside to dry.

I used a sponge dabber to colour the wood word piece with the Metallic Lustre.
I then set that aside to dry.

Once both pieces were dry, I adhered the words in place on the pallet. 
I used Tacky Glue to do this.

Finally, I embellished the letters with some drops of Petal Pink Liquid Pearls.

Other Materials Used:
Delta Pickling Gel - Rose Pink;
Deco Art Metallic Lustre - Black Shimmer;
Liquid Pearls - Petal Pink;
Tacky Glue.

Nancy Nickel - Clear Scraps Designer 

4x4 Acrylic Album

Hello! It's Jennifer on the blog today to share a project I  created using the January 2019 Q Kit!  The Clear Scraps Acrylic Mini albums have always been a long time favorite of mine so I  was excited to see this fun 4x4 Acrylic Album included in the kit!

I  began removing the protective film from both sides of all the acrylic pages. Then taking the front cover, I  secured the 6 Inch Rain Drops Heart Mascil over the top with painters tape (washi tape works too). The Viva Modellier Creme included in the kit is fun to work with and looks beautiful on the acrylic! Using a spatula, I    applied a thin layer across  the acrylic.  Once dry, I  cut a 4x4 piece selected from the Frozen Forest 6x6 Paper Pad using my corner rounder to fit the cover. I  then applied a thin line of liquid adhesive to the back of my cover so that my paper would "show through" the front. 

Next, I  cut another 4x4 piece of patterned paper to affix to the backside of the front cover (since the paper is one-sided).  Here, I  used this space for journaling as well as added hand punched shapes to accent.  I  also love the Want 2 Scrap Bling Strips that are included in the kit! They are great to line the bottom of photos or to cluster in the middle of a shape! 

Before moving on to my next pages, I  took my StazOn Opaque and lined the edges of my acrylic. This helps give them a snowy look if you are doing a winter or Christmas themed book! Any solvent based ink will work! 

In order to have my acrylic be the main focus, I  tried to keep my patterned papers to a minimum. I  "mirrored" my papers and embellishments on each page so that they would line up with each other. 

By using this technique, this also allows your other pages to "show through" as you flip through your book! 

Also, for a smaller book like this using wallet sized photos works best! I  am a big fan of matting mine onto white cardstock as well as adding another pattern underneath.

Tractor DIY Pallet Word Sign by Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with the new and super cute Tractor DIY Pallet Shape.  I thought this would make a perfect door sign for that Tractor loving kid and I just so happen to have one of those kids.   The boy loves tractors, especially red ones.  So easy to create with the Tractor Pallet and the "Happy Place" word stencil by Clear Scraps.

To get the tractor image on the the tractor pallet shape, the tires were painted on first.  Then the hub caps (do tractor's even have hub caps?) The steering wheel next and then the body of the tractor.  Wheel highlights where done next.   After the paint has dried the image was sanded lightly and wiped down with a soft rag.  The next step is adding the word "happy place" with the stencil by Clear Scraps!  

Tape down the stencil with painters tape.  I used a small round stencil brush and applied the paint to the stencil.  I always tap off paint before going to the stencil.  If your stencil brush has to much paint on it , the paint will go under the stencil.  Not a great look!!!  So less paint is what you want.  A good plan of action is a test before going to the project being stenciled.  Highlights were added to the letters with a small line brush using white acrylic paint.  The project was sealed with a mat varnish once the paint dried.

Stencilled Heart Cards by Steph

HI everyone, Steph Ackerman here with a set of cards using the Heart stencil, Viva Décor Modeling Cream, Graphic 45 Flutter paper pack and Want2Scrap bling from the January kit.

 

This stencil is perfect for Valentine's Day, Anniversary and Love creations. 

Placing the stencil on cardstock, I used a pallet knife to spread the modeling cream.

Look at the beautiful effect on both pink and red cardstock.

I created cards from black cardstock and matted each stenciled panel with black cardstock so the panel would pop.  Using papers from the Graphic 45 Flutter collection, I assembled the red card, placing ribbon between the layers.  To finish I added Want2Scrap pearls around one of the hearts.  A small sentiment was then added to the left side.

The pink card was assembled without ribbon.  Again, I placed Want2Scrap pearls around one of the hearts. 

As I wanted to create an anniversary card, I added an anniversary phrase and placed several pearls under the phrase.

There you have 2 different cards with one stencil.

Blinged out Phone Stand by Steph

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here to share my first project created from the January kit.  This month's  kit contains amazing products - a wood heart phone stand, 4" acrylic mini album, wood deco pallet, heart stencil, Graphic 45 Flutter pattern paper pack and Studio Light Winter paper pack and Want2Scrap bling!

I used Plaid paint to paint the phone stand a nice violet color.

Once It dried, I cut the pearls to fit around the hearts. As the pearls are self stick, it was easy to form them as needed.

I think the pearls really helped highlight the die cut hearts in the phone stand.

Find Joy Medium Deco Pallet

Hello! Jennifer here to share one of my projects I  created with the January Q 2019 Kit! I used the new Medium Deco Pallet which is one of two wood products included in the kit. The Deco Pallet is the perfect shape and size for any home decor project. 

I  began by painting my pallet in grey chalk paint. Then, I  chose a fun pattern from the Graphic 45 8x8 Flutter Paper Pad. I  cut my paper down to fit just inside my pallet. I  cut my background into strips to fit the slats of the pallets. 

Using the 6 Inch Rain Drops Heart Mascil,  I  applied a light layer of the modeling cream to my paper.  I  absolutely love playing with this medium as it goes on smooth and has a beautiful shimmer once dry! 

Here is a close up of the effect on the patterned paper! 

I  then used different patterns from the paper pad with my Silhouette to cut flowers as well as my title.  The strips of bling from Want 2 Scrap are perfect accents! Here, I  applied a cluster to the middle of my flower.

One of the nice features of the paper pad is that you have two sheets of each pattern. I  used a second sheet to fussy cut a butterfly to use as an embellishment. I    then added a small strip of bling to the center.  

Once I  was finished, I  used my Crop-o-dile to punch holes at the top of my pallet. I  then strung yellow seam binding from my stash through the top so I  could hang my project!
