The new Circle Medium Wood Pallet Shape is a totally versatile product.  It's a blank canvas waiting to be decorated to your taste!  Christine joining you today with a sports themed idea for using this Pallet Shape - turning it into a basketball!

We're knee deep in basketball season at my house, so that's probably part of why I ended up going down that route.  That said, this could work for any circular shaped sports ball - think soccer, tennis, baseball, etc!  Let's take a look at how I created it!

After lightly sanding the shape, I painted it with some orange acrylic paint.

I then traced the shape completely, including the pallets.  I cut off the two end pallets to make the arch shape on my basketball.  I laid them out so they would be even.  I also went with keeping my pallets horizontal instead of vertical, so as not to interfere with the lines I was adding to the basketball.

I traced the arcs with a permanent black marker just making an initial thin line.

Then I took some strong adhesive and went all over the basketball applying it and pulling it up.  My goal here was to distress the ball and give it a less clean feel!

Finally I thickened the lines up with my marker and then added letters.  Fairly simple and quick to put together and a nice decoration for my daughter!  I think for each year that she plays, I will add on the year and her number, so she can have it as a memento of her seasons!

Thanks for joining me today!
