The holiday season is in full swing at my house - how about yours?! That said, it's also a very busy season packed with lots of extra fun! Today I am going to show you a very simple ornament that you can make that won't take a lot of time but will still shine on your Christmas Tree! Christine joining you today to showcase the Long Bulb Mini Pallet.
One of the things I love about the pallet line is they can be simple or very complicated, depending on your crafting style. When it comes to things like this I tend to have a simple style and look for ways I can use products/tools that I have on hand.
In this case I started by painting it white. I mixed the paint with water so that it wouldn't be quite so stark. I wanted the woodgrain to still show thru. Then I used Nuvo Drops in gold to add the dots on my center pallet. I went for a variety of sizes. I also outlined the whole ornament in the same way. If you don't have Nuvo Drops, I think puffy paint could work in the same way. The only tricky part with those is you have to set aside perfectionism and be prepared that one of your dots might run into another, etc. The style of these ornaments lend themselves well to that - they have a homemade feel - so in my opinion, it's okay to embrace that look. You can definitely find some mistakes on mine - but you also will notice right away that it pops and has a cute design!
You can see how using the drops definitely added some nice dimension to the project! I bet it would look cool with dots in all three sections but different colors! Next thing on my list to try ;) Thanks for joining me today!
