Bible Journaling with Clear Scraps
May 18, 2018
Hello friends! It's Jennifer and I'm sharing some bible journaling ideas and techniques today using Clear Scraps products! From Mascils to acrylic/chipboard words and shapes, you can find the perfect accent for your journaling pages!
First up, I used the new Wings Chipboard Embellishments to highlight a verse in Psalm 91 regarding angels.
Using a Distress Crayon and my finger, I highlighted the intended verse. I then used a journaling pen and ruler to draw lines around the verse to add additional highlight.
Now, I'm going to show you how I colored my Wings Chipboard Embellishment! After painting my chipboard with white acrylic paint, I then applied a heavy coat of embossing ink to the front.
I chose three glitter embossing powders that matched my papers. I then layered my powders as shown and didn't worry about intermixing of the colors. After removing the excess powder, I used my heat tool to set.
And here is the end result! I love how it turned out! I placed a circle of thread underneath my Wings before adhering to the page. I then finished by adding a coordinating heart sticker to the center.
Next up, I used two different 6 inch Mascils for this verse in 2 Peter about growing in your faith. The 6 Inch Bouquet Daisies and Heart Dandelion Mascils were a perfect accent!
I secured my Mascils to my pages using Washi Tape before beginning. This prevents your Mascil from slipping so you have a more clear result!
Using a dauber or your finger, gently apply color to the page. I intermixed my colors so they would blend; however the Mascils are sturdy enough that you do not have to worry about inks bleeding underneath.
Here are close ups of my pages! Remember you can go as light or dark with your inks as you see fit.
