Autism Molecule Wood Album by Pinky
April 24, 2018
Hey there everyone, it's Pinky today and I am so excited to share my next project with you!
You know April is Autism Awareness Month and when I saw the new Geo Pattern Wood Accordion Shaker Album for some reason it looked like a molecule to me, and I had an idea.
I have done many Autism presentations to local schools and businesses from a mother's point of view and tried to raise awareness about Autism and the facts behind it, so I decided to print the outline of my speech and put it in this album for my boys later on!
I used the 6" Puzzle Stencil (which Jim and Susan created a couple of years ago for Autism) and it is one of my favorites, for the back ground. Here is a photo tutorial, step by step how I created this one!
First I painted the Geo Pattern Wood Accordion Shaker Album cover in a bluish green light color to preserve the wood grain. Then carefully used painter's tape to tape off around my "molecule" to paint it black.
Then I painted the wood panel that goes under the Geo Window a black oil color.
After that the I used the 6" Puzzle Stencil with the same light paint to create the puzzle pattern.
Once it was dry I started stacking the shaker parts for the cover using Beacon Zip Dry.
Then began adding the sequins, gems and glitter. Careful not to overfill.
Then I applied the acrylic panel and the cover panel.
I painted each page, and added the printed Autism speech, and tied it altogether using tulle.
It was a heartfelt and fun project to create, I am excited to have it available to my kids as they get older as well!
I hope you enjoyed my photo tutorial today, many blessings and love to you all, please keep sharing about Autism and our amazing kids!
Happy Tuesday y'all!
