Multi Stars Chipboard Embellishments Layout

Hello! It's Jennifer and I'm back to share another fun new Clear Scraps product with you!  I   have always loved the Chipboard Embellishments and am happy when there are new shapes to play with!  For my layout, I used the Multi Stars Chipboard Embellishments!  I  am going to show you the simple technique used to color my chipboard!

Clear_Scraps_Star_Chipboard_Shape_layout

I  wanted my stars to be bright so I  chose a fun yellow acrylic paint to start with! I  applied a few layers and allowed to dry while I  worked on the rest of my page!

Once my chipboard was dry, I  applied embossing ink and powder and then set with heat. After completing the first one I  felt that the yellow was too flat so I  added in a little glitter blue embossing powder with the next stars.

You can see the end result here! I placed my stars to accent the cut file I  used and I think they really pop off the page!

In the end, I  used only three stars because four seemed to be too much. So that means I    can save one for a later project!

I    also added some stars and other embellishments from the collection around my photo as well!

Heart Pallet Shape

Good morning Clear Scraps friends! Leah here with you today to share this amazing new product, REAL Birch Pallet shapes! Today I am working on the stunning Heart pallet shape.

HeartPallete_LeahCrowe

Approx. size 16.50" x 15.5" put together using wood glue. Adhere top and bottom pieces first flush and then middle pieces.

HeartPallete4_LeahCrowe

Give equal amount of space in between each to give it that pallet look.

I then stained the birch using mixwax stain in Cherry.

I knew I wanted to put a large photo on the front, so I printed a large 14 x 11" one at home. I flipped the photo and heart over, using a pen, I marked the spaces where the pallet lines are.

From here, I cut the photo following the lines I had traced.

Here's what that looks like.

HeartPallete4f_LeahCrowe I adhered the photo strips using mod podge. From there, I went embellishment crazy.

The swirls on the background are from the new 6" Magical Fairy stencil.

Also new are these wonderful heart chipboard embellishments.

Family Frame

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you an exciting new product coming this month to Clear Scraps.  These are the new Birch Wood Frames.  For this project I chose the beautiful Family Frame.  This real wood frame is approx. 22.3" x 14.5", comes with 3 picture cut out frames approx. 5" x 7" each.  The wood is so much fun to work with, and you can use most any type of medium on it.

I chose to gesso the wood frame and then added bits of modeling paste with a palette knife through the 6" Monarch Butterfly Stencil.

Flowers and additional wood pieces from my stash, colored with a bit of watercolor completed the look.

These wood frames are so much fun to work with and offer so many opportunities I am sure you will love them as much as I do.

Dream Catcher Chipboard Embellishments Layout

Hello and happy 2018!  Since it is a new year that means new Clear Scraps products!  I know the design team is excited to share the new designs with you!  Today, I  have a layout I  created using the Dream Catcher Chipboard Embellishments!  And I'm going to share my technique I  used to give color to my Dream Catcher!

  Clear_Scraps_Dreamcatcher_Chipboard_layout

I  wanted to do an ombre effect to match the paper of the collection I used for my layout.  So, I  had the idea of using three color coordinating embossing powders to color the Dream Catcher.     Like most of the chipboard pieces, I   applied a few layers of acrylic paint first. Here, I  used white because I  wanted some to show through any areas that were not covered by the embossing powder.

Next, I   applied my embossing ink followed by the embossing powders.  I    did not have set boundaries for each color and allowed them to "mingle"

And here is the final result! I  love how it turned out!

Here are additional photos of my layout! You can see the ombre on the chipboard pieces as well!

Road Trip with Clear Scraps~

Hi, Connie here with a cute and simple Mini Vintage Clipboard, by Clear Scraps, that is perfect to showcase that one special photo.  Let me show you~

Clear scraps_mini1_clipboard_c.mercer

Pattern paper was attached to the back of the clipboard, after the protective film was removed from both front and back of the clipboard.  Layer coordinating papers on the front, with die cuts and things of interest.  Chipboard stickers look great and add dimension to the project.

Clear scraps_mini2_clipboard_c.mercer

The chipboard word " Road Trip" by Clear Scraps was inked and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The word "Road Trip" was attached, under the photo, on the front of the clipboard with strong glue.

Clear scraps_mini3_clipboard_c.mercer

The clipboard is acrylic and very light weight, so displaying it on a small easel worked perfect.  Twine was added to the top clip for added color.  Already to give to my grandson!

Products used:

Clear Scraps: Mini Vintage Clipboard

Clear Scraps: Chipboard script word "Road Trip"

Beacon

other: pattern paper (to layer on front of clipboard), chipboard stickers, ink for shading, twine, embossing powder and ink.

Thanks for stopping by~

Happy New Year 2018!

Happy New Year 2018 Clear Scraps family!!

We hope you rang in the New Year in a safe and happy way.
Today, I'm excited to share with you a couple of brand New chipboard embellishments that will be released VERY soon!

The 2018 and swirl embellishment on the tag is new this year! I used leftovers from the January 2018 CME Kit on this tag.

2018Jan_Tag4_LeahCrowe

I adhered the paper to the back of the acrylic tag and then used chalk paint to edge the tag all the way around.
2018Jan_Tag4_LeahCrowe

I used the same chalk paint to paint the embellishments.
2018Jan_Tag4_LeahCrowe

While the paint was wet I adhered Martha Stewart fuzzy flock glitter.
