Coffee cards

Hi, Connie here with a couple of coffee cards using the Cup Overflow Border stencil by Clear Scraps.   The 6" Holly stencil was used also but could easily be switched out for a Spring time leaf.

Clear Scraps_border stencil_C. Mercer

To create the background for the cards, S.E.I. Tumble Dye was sprayed on watercolor paper.  Any spray paint, mist product will work to make a space for the coffee cup to be stenciled in the middle using modeling paste.

Clear Scraps_border stencil2_C. Mercer

Tape the stencil down so you get a clean image when scrapping the modeling paste over the stencil.  I use a pallet knife but an old credit card works well too.

At the corner of the cup use the 6" Holly or the 6" Twig Leaves to place a leaf and then use buttons to create a little flower embellishment.   Stamp sentiment out and add twine.
The sentiment tag was created to resemble a hand stitched tag
(like what is in the back of a shirt).

Clear Scraps_border stencil4_C. Mercer

So easy to change up the color combos and have bright colorful cards.

The completed cards were splattered with black acrylic paint, using a tooth brush.  So easy to direct the splatter!!!

Whiskey Barrel Chalkboard Oh My!

Hey there everyone, it's Pink today and check out this cool Whiskey Barrel DIY Pallet Shape I turned into a chalkboard for CHA this year!

Clear Scraps Whisky Barrel Chalkboard - 1 copy

I had so much fun experimenting on these Pallet Shapes, brand new from Clear Scraps, they are easy to assemble and yes, REAL wood!

Clear Scraps Whisky Barrel Chalkboard-1 - 1

For this whiskey barrel I took some acrylic paint mixed with water to "Stain" the wood and bring out the woodgrain. It worked really well. Now for the chalkboard area, I used Chalk Paint but i highly recommend you paint 3/4 coats because wood is porous naturally and it will absorb a bit. But once you get it painted, you are good to go! Also did you notice the Chipboard Heart Shape? That is the Flourish Heart Chipboard Embellishments, love those embellishments for many many projects!

Happy Monday friends!

Chipboard "tools" set tag by Clear Scraps

Hi, Connie here with a tag showcasing some of the newly released chipboard embellishments from Clear Scraps.  This tag shows one of the new tools set.   It comes with a hammer and hand saw.  They are easy to add color to.  So many options~

Tool tag

The hand saw is stamped with pigment ink and embossed with clear coat embosing powder.  I did each end seperately, the handle and then the blade part.  The bottom tools are from stamps and are added to support the sentiment on the tag.   Clear Scraps have tons of chipboard shapes that work well on cards, craft projects and scrapbook pages.   I am loving the sea shells and the stars.

Snow Wonderful Acrylic Plaque by Pinky

Hey there everyone, it's Pink today with another fun project using Clear Scraps.

Now you might be sick of the snow but here in Tennessee, well we don't get snow that often, so we still love it. I decided to make a wall hanging using the "3X12" WONDERFUL" stencil with some acrylic paint on the front.

Clear Scraps Snow Wonderful Stenciled - 2

I also used the Nordic Snowflake Border on the front with Gel Paste and Glitter, then on the back I dabbed on two colors of blue paint.
Clear Scraps Snow Wonderful Stenciled - 2

I added the foil SNOW and punched 2 holes with my Crop A Dile to make a hanger and placed it on my boys door. They thought it was a fun project.

Of course the BASE was a Clear Scraps Scalloped Corners Plaque! Perfect for the 3X12 Stencils.

House DIY Pallet Shape

Hello! Jennifer on the blog  with one of the new Wood Pallet Shapes!  Are you loving the new releases from Clear Scraps? I'm always amazed on what Susan designs!  I'm sharing the House DIY Pallet Shape today! The DIY Shapes are so easy to assemble and you can use paint or stain on the wood to color! I    chose a brown acrylic paint as my background. The wood is such great quality that the grain shows right through!

Clear_Scraps_House_DIY_Pallet_Shape

As a part of my title,  I  used the new Home Chipboard Word Title which I  colored with glitter embossing powder!  I    thought it went perfect with the House DIY Pallet Shape as well as the saying I   used (I'm a big Wizard of Oz fan)!

Clear_Scraps_House_DIY_Pallet_Shape2

I  used my Silhouette to cut the rest of my title using card stock and a fun font!  I    found the best way to adhere my letters was using Beacon 3-in-1 Craft Adhesive!

Clear_Scraps_House_DIY_Pallet_Shape3

I  cut sections of  paper and fit them in a grid like pattern across the slats of the House. Before affixing them to the wood, I    used my sewing machine to stitch around the edges to give it some dimension.

Clear_Scraps_House_DIY_Pallet_Shape4

I    used a fun wreath cut file around my photo as well as added in small accents such as this stamped circle and decorative brads!

2018 Chipboard Word Title Layout

Hell0 friends...its Jennifer back with another layout using one of the new release Chipboard Word Titles! A new year means a clean slate for me and I  always try to make a fresh set of goals!  I  used the 2018 Chipboard Word Title for my page and I'm going to show you my technique!

Clear_Scraps_2018_Chipboard_Word_Title_layout

I  wanted to add some sparkle to my title so I  used two complimenting colors of glitter embossing powder!

Clear_Scraps_2018_Chipboard_Word_Title_layout2

I    applied white acrylic paint to cover my chipboard allowing each coat to dry between applications.

IMG_6093

I   then added the glitter blue embossing powder first and set with my heat gun.  I  then went back with my embossing ink and added a light coat of the glitter pink embossing powder.

This is Us, Heart Pallet

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you one of the fabulous new products being debuted this weekend at Creativation in Phoenix.  For those of you who don't know, Creativation is the Craft and Hobby Trade show.  It is where all your local shops go to see the latest and greatest products that your favorite craft manufacturers are producing.  And this year Clear Scraps has blown it out of the water with so many new and unique items.

One of my favorites has to be the new wood pallet shapes.  Especially this heart.

Heart_pallet_nancy keslin_clear scraps

Now, these start out as a blank pallet that you need to assemble.

image from cdn3.volusion.com

But, unlike some others, these are made from actual wood.  Which means, as you can see here, they can take a lot of embellishment.

This is us_clear scraps_chipboard_words_nancy keslin

I also added one of the new chipboard words, This is Us.

These are so fun to create with, I just know you are going to love them like I do.

House Pallet Decor by Clear Scraps~

Hi, Connie here with one of the new Pallett designs by Clear Scraps.  I got to create with the House Pallett and loved how easy it was to put together and decorate.  It is a blank canvas and you get to design your creation.

House_mercer
 Instructions:

House_mercer1

Lay out the wood boards to create the house.   Glue the pointed board, on the back of the house (matching up to the pointed roof) .  Let dry.

Decide on paint color and paint the front of the house pallett.

Free hand or use a stencil for the Ivy, that is along the side and on the top corner.

House_mercer3

Paint the chipboard piece " Life is Good"  and glue it next to Ivy cluster. Speckle the cluster area with black and white acrylic paint.  Attach clip to center of pallett (that will hold the photo) and let it dry.   Add die cuts and/or stickers to border and showcase the photo.  Because a clip is being glued in the midddle, photos can be changed out as desired making updating photos a breeze!!!

House_mercer2

To add a hanger to the piece ~ run jute or twine in between the wood and the back board.  Tie off.

Supplies used:

Clear Scraps: Home Decor/ House Pallett

Clear Scraps: Chipboard word / Life is Good

Other:

acrylic paint

clip (to hold photo)

Glue/Beacon

die cuts and stickers

jute

Welcome to the New Release fun again Clear Scraps friends! It's Pinky again with another fun NEW Release! This one is a Picket Fence DIY Pallet Shape, and I turned it into a CHALKBOARD! The blue fence areas are chalkboard.

Clear Scraps Pallet Fence Chalkboard by Pinky Hobbs - 1

Now I did have to use two coats of chalkboard paint because wood is porous, but it was so worth it!

I used the 5X9 Butterflies Layering Stencil for the butterflies, and the 6" UNICORN Stencil for the flourishes, YES Unicorn! Her mane was perfect for this!

Hello Beautiful - Tag

Hey everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you my latest tag creation for Clear Scraps.  This one featuring one of the clear acrylic tags from the tag album.

Hello Beautiful_tag_clear scraps_nancy keslin

I also used the 6" Plaid Masking Stencil to create the background.

I began by painting one side of the tag with a light pink acrylic paint.  Then I taped (with washi) the stencil to the front side of the tag and painted with a darker pink.

Hello beautiful_tag_clear scraps_nancy keslin_stencil

From there it was simply a mater of embellishment.  And you know that is my favorite part.  lol  Flowers, journaling cards, post it notes and scraps of paper all created this look.
