Earth Wind and Fire Layout!

Hi, Angel here creating with Clear Scraps and Quick Quotes.  I loved getting a chance to play with both this month! It's always fun to play with some clear scrap products but to be able to mix it with other products from other companies it was a blast.

Today I am going to share with you  my acrylic layout Together we have it all! I used the large XL DECO by Clear Scraps and the Earth Wind Fire Collection by Quick Quotes.

Clear Layout

The papers was so fun to play with and though it went well with the photos of when I took from a trip  to a battle ship. This will be a great keepsake to be able to keep on display . Memories cherished.

Close Up 1

Here I wanted to make it fun so I added netting to make the water scene come to life. Of course you had to buy tickets to get aboard right.

Close up 2

I also made banner tails using  a banner punch and some of the paper collection. I inked the edges using some Quick Quotes ink!

Close up 3

The Chipboard pieces was so much fun to play with. I loved playing with this collection and I am sure you would too.

Quick Quotes Week with Debbie

Hello friends!  So glad you could join the Clear Scraps design team as we collaborate with Quick Quotes.  The paper

Line I received for this fun trade is called Earth Wind Fire and the rich colors are so easy to work with, all earthy tones

that can be matched up with any photo or even give your decorated projects a great earthy look.  I chose to do a layout

with a country photo I had.

The background was made using the Clear Scraps Doily 6 Stencil.  I simply applied modeling paste, allowed it to dry and then embossed it with embossing powder.

The next step was to add some sprays, I used a paint brush because it gives me a little more control of where the color goes.

The rest is pretty easy, adding matting, photos and embellishments.

IMG_3861

To alter the chipboard I inked it up with Versa Mark and then added Pearl embossing powder. I repeated this twice.

IMG_3827

Next I sprayed it with mist and then heated it up again with the heat gun, this gives your chipboard a fun embedded

glimmer to it as well as adding color.

IMG_3828

Hope you give this fun and quick technique a try next time you're working with chipboard.

Thanks for stopping by the Clear Scraps Blog today!!

Thank you Quick Quotes for the beautiful papers and Embellishments!!!

I enjoyed working with this beautiful paper collection!

Clear Scraps and Quick Quotes ~ perfect together!

Hi, Connie here creating with Clear Scraps and Quick Quotes.  They look amazing together.  Both companies have beautiful and unique products to create with. I used the large Scalloped Portrait Clipboard by Clear Scraps and the Earth Wind Fire Collection by Quick Quotes.  Take a look~

April8

The inside frame was kinda of tricky to create, but fun at the same time.  I used a border punch and cut four strips and then connected them together. The edges were inked with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink in Navy.

Clear scraps_quick quotes_banner_c.mercer

The banner was fun to create.  One of the papers in the Earth Wind Fire Collection by Quick Quotes is made up of triangles, so perfect to create a banner from.  Just cut the paper in strips and then snip the triangles off.  I used Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink to shade the banner pieces.

Clear scraps_chipboard_powderpuff chalk ink_c.mercer

The "smile" chipboard word by Clear Scraps is colored with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink/Navy.  So easy and I love the coverage you get using this ink.  The chipboard word also has two coats of acrylic sealer on it to add in brightness and shine.  The stenciling was done using the 6" Chevron stencil by Clear Scraps and the Navy PowderPuff Chalk ink by Quick Quotes.

 Products used:

Clear Scraps: Large Scalloped Portrait Clipboard, 6" Chevron stencil and "Smile" chipboard word

Quick Quotes: Earth Wind Fire: 109, 110, 500 and 101 ( triangle paper). Die cut chipboard sticker embellishments.

XOXOX

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you a fun new 12x12 Acrlyic Layout using the goodies for the Quick Quotes cross promotion.  I chose the XOXOX Acrylic Layout to use with the lovely papers and diecuts that QuickQuotes sent.

Acrylic layout_clear scraps_quickquotes_nancy keslin

I began by stamping with white Stazon ink and a script word stamp onto my layout.

Layout_clearscraps_quickquotes_stamp

I layered my Quick Quotes papers behind the acrylic and added my photos.  Finally I embellished with the Quick Quotes die cuts that I popped up using foam squares and a few flowers from my stash.

Clear Scraps and Quick Quotes Acrylic Mini Album

Hello friends! It's Jennifer on the blog today and I'm here to share my project during our cross promotion with Quick Quotes!  I created a mini album using the 6x6 Tab Album in Acrylic.  The album includes 5 pages of thick acrylic with 3 tab pages and a front and back cover.  Quick Quotes sent me their Earth Wind Fire collection along with three of their Powderpuff Chalk Inks!  I thought the colors went well for an outdoor event so I scrapped older photos of a trip to a local zoo!

Clear_Scraps_6x6_Acrylic_Tab_Album

I painted one of the Dragonfly Chipboard Embellishments as well as the Rectangle Deco Chipboard Frame with acrylic paint in off white.  Once dry, I used a generous amount of the Powderpuff Chalk Ink in Navy.  For the frame, I just wanted to ink the edges and used Milk Chocolate.

Clear_Scraps_6x6_Acrylic_Tab_Album2

For my inside pages, I used the different patterns of Earth Wind Fire along with the coordinating chipboard embellishments.  I again used the Powderpuff Chalk Ink to distress the edges of both papers and chipboard.

Clear_Scraps_6x6_Acrylic_Tab_Album3

Clear_Scraps_6x6_Acrylic_Tab_Album4

I didn't add many embellishments to my pages since the patterns are busy in themselves.  I added pieces of washi tape or used a few hand punches to create smaller embellishments.

Clear_Scraps_6x6_Acrylic_Tab_Album5

Clear_Scraps_6x6_Acrylic_Tab_Album6

On my last page, I used one of the Monarch Butterfly Chipboard Embellishments to accent my photo! I again painted with off white acrylic paint and inked with Powderpuff Chalk Ink in Barn Board.

Clear Scraps & Quick Quotes week!

Happy Monday Clear Scraps & Quick Quotes friends!

This week Clear Scraps is teaming up with the amazing Quick Quotes team to share projects and tons of inspiration with you.

To start the week off I decided to focus my monthly tag on the beautiful New Earth Wind Fire collection from Quick Quotes and a gorgeous birdcage embellishment from Clear Scraps.

To start making this I adhered the EW100 to the backside of the Acrylic Tag.

TagBirdcage3-QQ_LeahCrowe

I then cut a piece of EW105, distressed it using Powderpuff chalk ink in Navy and Amaretto. I used the same inks to layer on these beautiful new stencil butterflies.

TagBirdcage4-QQ_LeahCrowe

I wanted to show you how pretty they are because I knew I would be covering most of them up with my embellishing.
I then adhered the birdcage to the beautiful EW102 paper, then cut the the excess away.

TagBirdcage5-QQ_LeahCrowe

After some embellishing from the Quick Quotes chipboard, papers, and distressing with ink, my April tag is complete.

April Tag with Debbie

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing my April tag for Clear Scraps. April is the time of year when mother nature renews our wold outside.  I love that I live in a part of the country that I can enjoy all the seasons!  We have been enjoying much warmer days than usual here in the Rocky mountains and the flowers are starting to peek out and the grass is turning green.

Seems like life is always too busy for the most important things, however this fun tag won't take you long at all. I created this tag with Clear Scraps Acrylic Tag Album.

IMG_3819

IMG_3794

For this acrylic tag I adhered the paper to the back of the  tag and embellished the tag on the front with handmade flowers.

I popped up all the pieces with pop dots for dimension.

To finish it off add a bow to the top.

Hope you enjoyed my February Tag and hope you're playing along with the design team on the ClearScraps Blog and making your own pretty tags!

Vaca Printer Tray Tutorial by Pinky- Mistakes and ALL!

Hey there Clear Scraps friends, it's Pinky today and I am excited to share my latest project with you, this Rectangular/Square Printer Tray, and exactly how I created it!! I recently went I vacation, and decided to use the pictures for this and a new set of vacation papers I found.

Clear Scraps Vacation Printer Tray by Pinky - 11

I started out by taking the Acrylic (second to top) piece and using the 6" Groovy Heart Mascil- Stencil over the ONE rectangle area, I took the protective film off and used the chipboard top layer as my guideline, then used paint mixed with Modeling Paste and a sparkle knife to create the groovy heart on the acrylic.
Clear Scraps Vacation Printer Tray by Pinky - 2Clear Scraps Vacation Printer Tray by Pinky - 2

While the Modeling Paste and paint dried and started trimming and cutting out the pieces for the inside of the Rectangle/Square Printer Tray.  I laid it all out as I wanted to create it.
Clear Scraps Vacation Printer Tray by Pinky - 2

I trimmed out the pattered paper and adhered each piece into place on the bottom solid chipboard piece, there is a total of 5 layers, the solid bottom chipboard piece, 2 chipboard "window frame" layers (to place sequins or glitter/buttons etc...), then an acrylic layer, then one more chipboard cover "window frame" piece.

Clear Scraps Vacation Printer Tray by Pinky - 5

Then I took the cover chipboard piece and painted it in hot pink and orange colors.
Clear Scraps Vacation Printer Tray by Pinky - 10

While that dried I took the TWO (yes TWO) chipboard "window" pieces and adhered them over the solid base. I used Beacon Zip Dry of course.

Clear Scraps Vacation Printer Tray by Pinky - 6 Clear Scraps Vacation Printer Tray by Pinky - 7
How I adhered the chipboard: Apply a thin line around the entire bottom of the chipboard window piece including each panel, press firmly into place, hold 30 seconds to ensure seal.

Clear Scraps Vacation Printer Tray by Pinky - 8

Then add sequins or glitter or buttons, whatever you like to place inside. Now you might not be able to tell but here is my FIRST mistake! On the top chipboard window I glued the wrong side!!!! So I had to adhere the bottom after the top glue dried and try to peel some off. So you will see an extra bit of glue there.

Clear Scraps Vacation Printer Tray by Pinky - 9

I peeled the acrylic protective film off and adhere it to the top of the chipboard layers.

Now here is where I made mistake NUMBER TWO! haha

Clear Scraps Vacation Printer Tray by Pinky - 10

I painted the WRONG side of the top chipboard layer! haha I had to stop, and repaint it, then adhere it to the top! Yes I make big craft mistakes like everyone else, so I took a photo (above) to share! LOL

Clear Scraps Vacation Printer Tray by Pinky - 11

Anyways, that how we make it happen friends.

Have a lovely day.

April Tag with Jennifer

Hello friends!  I'm here to share my tag for this month!  And I have some fun and easy techniques so you can recreate your own tag!

Clear_Scraps_April_tag

I started with my Acrylic Tag and three alcohol inks that are color coordinated.

Clear_Scraps_April_tag4

Using the darkest color first, I started at the bottom then adding in the other two colors. Don't be afraid to allow the colors to mix...the lines don't have to be perfect.

Clear_Scraps_April_tag5

I allowed the alcohol ink to dry and flipped over my tag.  Next, using the 6 Inch Swallowtail Butterfly Mascil and modeling paste, I applied one of the butterflies.

Clear_Scraps_April_tag6

And here is the end result!  I used two of my butterfly hand punches to add in smaller butterflies with patterned paper.

Clear_Scraps_April_tag2

Since I wanted most of the acrylic to show, I used just a small strip of patterned paper to adhere my saying to.

Clear_Scraps_April_tag3

Thank you for looking today!  I hope this inspires you to do some creating with Clear Scraps Acrylic and Mascils! Have a great day!

Additional products used:  patterned paper: Pebbles; cardstock: Bazzill; punches: Martha Stewart; enamel dots:  Crate Paper, Teresa  Collins Designs; stamp:  Dylusions; ink: Ranger; adhesive: Beacon; misc: vellum, ribbon

Autism Awareness ~ puzzle stencil cards!

Hi, Connie here with a couple of cards I created for Stamping For Autism Awareness Blog Hop using the 6" Puzzle Stencil by Clear Scraps. Stencils are a great tool to create with.  They can be used to create a background for your project or stand alone embellishment pieces.  That is how I used them on these cards.

April10

I stenciled with three different color inks and then cut out the puzzle images.  I used a background stamp and added the puzzle pieces to the front.  The sentiment was added.

Aunt Kitty & Me

Hello Clear Scraps friends! I Hope your week is off to a great start.

Today, I am sharing my take on the XL Dazed Acrylic shape layout. Recently my grandchildren have come to live with me, and we have lots of great photo opportunities with their Aunts and Uncles. The selfies are in abundance and make me so happy to capture them in layouts.

XLDazed_LeahCrowe

My daughters name is Katelyn and when my granddaughter was little, she was unable to say Katie and ended up calling her Kitty instead. It has stuck, and it just makes me smile.

XLDazed4_LeahCrowe

I used cute little enamel dots around the edge of the XL Dazed Acrylic.

XLDazed2_LeahCrowe

And lots of fun layers and embellishments to add some depth.

Check out all the XL shapes Clear Scraps has to offer.

April Tag

Hey everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you my tag for April.

April_tag_nancy keslin_clear scraps

I began with one of the Clear Scraps Acrylic Tags from the Tag Album which I stamped on using alcohol markers.  This was a two step process, first I stamped the roses, then the vines.

April_tag_nancy keslin_clear scraps_stamping

I then layered a piece of cardstock that was cut to size, a sheet of patterned paper and finally a doily and attached them to the back of my tag with a bit of Zip Dry.

I then began attaching my floral embellishments.

And finally created my doll, attaching her as well as a few additional embellishments.
