New Layer Stencil & Mini Rattle Shaker

Happy Tuesday friends. So, how have you been enjoying the new releases thus far? Amazing, right?!

Today I am sharing a card I made out of the new Layer Teddy Bear Stencil, as well as the Mini Shaker Rattle.

BearStencil_RattleShakersm_LeahCrowe

I had made a video showing how to use the new layer stencil, but I ended up losing the video when I switched phones.

Soooo, the card is 5.5" square. And the layer stencil is 5" x 9", so a perfect fit. This is what the stencil looks like.

CSMSLteddybears-2T

I started by dabbing alcohol ink on the body of the stencil onto an acrylic square. Once that dried, I lifted the stencil and placed the bottom section (the second layer) of the stencil on the body. I then used a different color and dabbed more alcohol ink through the stencil. So fast, so easy, and SO cute!

BearStencil_RattleShakersm_LeahCrowe

Looking at the Teddy Bears, I just thought this would make the cutest baby card. So I then put together the Mini Shaker Rattle, added some star sequins, and adhered it to the card.

I hope you enjoyed this post today. Keep checking back for new ideas and inspiration!

Daisies 12x12 Acrylic Layout

Hello! It's Jennifer and I'm here to share another fun NEW release from Clear Scraps!  I am loving the 12x12 Acrylic Layouts and the great variety to choose from!  One of the layouts I received was the Daisies 12x12 Acrylic Layout. I flipped my layout to fit my vertical photos which is another awesome feature of these products!

Clear_Scraps_Daisies_Acrylic_12x12_Layout

Before adding my photos, I wanted to add some color and sparkle to my acrylic! I used alcohol inks and glitter paint in random spots on the layout allowing colors to mix.

Clear_Scraps_Daisies_Acrylic_12x12_Layout6

Clear_Scraps_Daisies_Acrylic_12x12_Layout7

Once dry, I backed my Acrylic Layout with white cardstock as well as added patterned paper to frame my photos. I also added brads and enamel dots to accent the daisies.

And because I can't do a layout without layering, I found a Silhouette cut file similar to the daisies and cut different sizes from the patterned papers.  I layered a few on top of the acrylic daisies to add some dimension.

I did a step by step to show you how the mini was created ~

Cupcake shaker_clear scraps_c.mercer

Supplies needed: Cutie/mixable by Clear Scraps, Binder pages 5 X 7 (chipboard), Beacon 3-IN-1, pattern paper,  Cupcake Shaker by Clear Scraps and rhinestones (filler for the shaker).

Cover the bottom part of the chipboard Cupcake with pattern paper.

Cover the top part of the Cupcake with a different pattern of paper and cut it out.

Adhere both parts, top and bottom to chipboard. Let dry.

The Shaker part of the Cupcake comes with three top chipboard pieces.  Glue one on the top of the cupcake.  Sandwich the acrylic in between the the second and third piece of the top chipboard. Add rhinestones (or filler) to the first one you glued to the covered chipboard top.  Glue the sandwich piece to the first one, covering the rhinestone (filler).

Paint or ink the chipboard part of the top of the Cupcake.  Decorate.

January Tag by Jennifer

Hello and happy 2017!  We are excited to continue to share our "Tag of the Month" with you and hope that you will be inspired to create with many of the awesome Clear Scrap products!  Today, I'm sharing a quick and easy technique to add some sparkle to your chipboard!

First, I started by using painting the edges of one of the chipboard tags with white acrylic paint.  I then fit and layered pieces of patterned paper from a fun winter collection and adhered to the front of my tag.

Clear_Scraps_January_tag

To embellish my tag, I used the Nordic Snowflake Chipboard Embellishments.  I started my painting them with the same white acrylic paint.  Once dry, I applied the painted surface directly to the embossing pad and added a fun light blue glitter embossing powder.  After removing the excess powder, apply heat directly to set.

Clear_Scraps_January_tag4

Here is a close up of one of the snowflakes!  I added a cute color coordinating button to the center to add some dimension!

Clear_Scraps_January_tag2

I used the larger snowflake as my "base" to add stickers and additional buttons; I love how it turned out!  I finished my tag by adding some ribbon to tie at the top!

Layout with Feathers Layering Stencil

Hello! It's Jennifer and I'm happy to share with you a layout I created with one of the new Clear Scraps products! Its like a kid on Christmas when CHA rolls around and we get to see what Susan and Jim have designed for us to work with!  Every release I am amazed and this year is no exception!  The layering stencils are ingenious and so fun to use!

One of the stencils I received was the 5x9 Feathers Layering Stencil  which is one of my favorites!  The stencils are easy to use; it just takes a little planning and patience.

Clear_Scraps_5x9_Feathers_Layering_Stencil

I knew I wanted to use modeling paste as my base, so I used washi tape to secure my stencil to my cardstock background.  While allowing the modeling paste to dry, I cleaned off my stencil and dried.

IMG_5147

Once my modeling paste was thoroughly dry, I got out my Gelatos  and used a wet brush (and my finger) to color in the details of the feathers.

IMG_5150

And here is the final result! Is it perfect? No..but I know in time and some practice I will get the hang of it :)
