Adore Autumn Layout

Hello everyone, Adora here today to share this layout I've created with the XL Deco acrylic shape  and  the 6 Inch chicken wire mascils .  I love the combination of this 2 products,  acrylics works well with spray paint. One thing I love about it is that you can use a color of your choice for background and the chicken wire compliments well with the theme. This is a layout of my grandson few years back.

Here is a closer look. I use a spray paint and stencil directly onto the sheet, then use patterned paper to add dimension.

Spooky Tag

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today, and can you believe tomorrow is Halloween?  Eek!  Where does time go?

Today I want to share with you a fun tag that you could make today, just in time for tomorrow's main event.

Clearscraps_tag_october_nancy keslin_final

I began with one of Clear Scraps Acrylic Tags from the Tag album and Tag Box set, and simply stamped with Stazon my background.  Be sure and use a solvent ink so that it is permanent on the acrylic.  I laid the tag over the stamp and used my brayer to ensure I got an even print exactly where I wanted it.

Clearscraps_tag_october_nancy keslin_halloween

Next, I inked up the backside of my tag with an assortment of fall colored Stazon inks.  You can go pretty bold with these ink colors as when the light passes through they will be much more translucent.

Clearscraps_tag_october_nancy keslin_ink

Finally I added a couple of stickers and flowers.  Done.  Super quick and super easy.

Be sure and check out the Tag Album/Box sets in the Clear Scraps store.  This way you can start your own set in the coming new year.

Hugs.

October Spiderweb Tag by Pinky

Hey there Clear Scraps friends, it is Pinky today and I had fun creating my October Tag for the month, it is nearly one of my favorite holidays, Halloween! I love costumes and the start of the holiday season, Thanksgiving and Christmas is on it's way!

October Tag by Pinky Hobbs Clear Scraps6

For my monthly October Tag I started with a Clear Acrylic Tag from the Clear Scraps Tag Album and Tag Box Set and the NEW Release the Clear Scraps Ghost Chipboard Embellishments.

I took the Clear Scraps Acrylic Tag , removing the back protective film, then I used acrylic paint to "stamp" on spiderwebs using an old Halloween Spiderweb stamp I had, I used a foam brush to dab the stamp with black acrylic paint. After that I brushed the edges of the  Clear Scraps Acrylic Tag using black acrylic paint (the same one). After all of that was dry I used StazOn ink to stamp on the "Trick Or Treat" sentiment to the front of the tag after I removed the protective film.

While I was waiting for the stamping to dry, I used the  Clear Scraps Ghost Chipboard Embellishments and covered them in modeling paste, adding glitter while it was still wet.

Now those did take a few to dry, so I set it all aside overnight, however you could just leave it a few hours.

When all was dry I added black rhinestones in the center of the spider webs and around the tag. And of course you can see I used a black and gold tulle to tie the top.

I have really enjoyed trying new mediums and techniques on these monthly tags! It has given me a real creative outlet and they are pretty useful when all is said and done.

I hope you enjoyed my October Tag friends,

Until next time, keep on creating, and come back for more ideas.

Fall Layout with Twig Leaves Mascil

Hi friends! It's Jennifer on the blog today! I'm sharing a layout I created with the new 12 inch Twig Leaves Mascil and a 12x12 Acrylic Sheet! And I'm going to show you how I created my background!

Clear_Scraps_12_inch_Twig_Leaves_Mascil_layout

I secured my Mascil to the acrylic sheet using washi tape first. Then, I chose four of my favorite fall colored alcohol inks.  I didn't have any set rules on how I colored my background and wasn't afraid to mix colors!  Remember it doesn't have to be perfect! And don't be afraid to get a bit messy!

Clear_Scraps_12_inch_Twig_Leaves_Mascil_layout5

You can see my leaves are clear but I love how they look like water colors!

Clear_Scraps_12_inch_Twig_Leaves_Mascil_layout3

I added some embellishments as well as patterned paper to accent my photo! But, I didn't want to cover up too much of my background!

Clear_Scraps_12_inch_Twig_Leaves_Mascil_layout4

I also added small stickers, chipboard pieces, and enamel dots from the collection I used.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Be sure to check out all of the new Mascils in the Clear Scraps Shop! Have a  great day!

Lovely Pumpkin

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you a fun fall craft featuring Clear Craft Sheets, the leaves embellishments and the 6inch Damask Mascil.  I love keeping a stash of Clear Craft Sheets around as they are so much fun to create with.

Pumpkin_clearscraps_final

I began by painting my craft sheet with acrylic paint.  I find that pouncing the paint with a foam brush works best for me.  But you can use whatever technique you prefer, just be sure to remove the clear backing sheet before you start.

Clearscraps_pumpkin_decor_mascil

Cut the 12x12 sheet into 1inch strips.  I used a craft knife on my self healing mat.

Clearscraps_pumpkin_decor_strips

Now, you may have made similar pumpkins with paper in the past.  I remember making them with my children when they were younger.  Punch holes in the ends of each strip as well as in the middle.  For each pumpkin you will need 6 strips.

Clearscraps_pumpkin_decor_holes

Next, stack the strips and place a brad through the center holes to hold them together.

Clearscraps_pumpkin_decor_brad 1

Then working around the pumpkin add a brad through the end of each strip.  You will need a brad with fairly long tines for this.

Clearscraps_pumpkin_decor_brad 2

Squish the ball shape down a bit, if you like adding a bit of heat.  From there, I simply painted the two of the leaves from the Leaf Embellishments green and dragged a toothpick through the paint to add a bit of texture and attached to my pumpkin with a couple of glue dots.

Clearscraps_pumpkin_decor_leaves

Another glue dot and a small stick I found in the yard....

Clearscraps_pumpkin_decor_stick

And finally a bit of ribbon that I died to match.

Clearscraps_pumpkin_decor_ribbons

This project was simple and fun to make.  I think the hardest part, the part that took the longest was waiting for the paint to try.  I would love to see your pumpkin if you try.

Hugs.

I hope you liked this fun project! Thanks for stopping by the ClearScraps blog today!

Clearscraps Chipboard Baby Layout - Tutorial

Hi friends!  Debbie with you today sharing a layout of one of my grand babies as a newborn.  I will be sharing a fun

chipboard technique that I find myself using over and over again.  It's easy and really gives your chipboard pieces a

beautiful finish.

The chipboard pieces I used on this layout are Dragonflies Chipboard Embellishments and Maple Branch Chipboard Embellishments. The

Stencil I used n the background is 6" Doily Mat

IMG_3298

Well begin with building the background for this layout.Start with 2 sheets of patterned paper, Trim the center of one piece

leaving a one inch border around the edge. Set aside.

IMG_3259

Using your trimmer cut a 3 inch vertical cut down the center top of your second piece of patterned paper.

IMG_3260

Trim 1/2 in of 2 sides of your second piece of patterned paper.

Roll the edges of the center cut you just made.

Adhere it to your frame  centering it leaving a 1/4" border.

You can distress and ink all the edges if you like.

IMG_3261

Insert and adhere a piece of coordinating scrap paper to the rolled slit at the top of your vertical cut.

IMG_3262

Here is what it looks like to this point.

IMG_3264

Using the center of the first piece of patterned paper, trace and cut a tag.  This will be used in your mat for your photo. Set aside.

IMG_3265

To add some texture you will need some modeling paste and something to spread it with. I prefer these

gift cards as it allows you to spread the paste more evenly and in larger areas.

IMG_3269

This is what it will look like.  Let it Dry or use a heat gun to dry. Set aside.

IMG_3272

Next step is your chipboard, add a coat of Gesso to your chipboard.  Let Dry.

IMG_3274

Coloring your Chipboard.

  1. Cover with VersaMark Clear Ink
  2. Sprinkle Embossing Powder over the whole piece of Chipboard. Heat Emboss.
  3. Repeat the VersaMark and Embossing Powder.
  4. Spray finished pieces with Mist. I like Heidi Swapp or Glimmer Mist for this technique because they have shimmer.
  5. Heat with heat gun.  As the the embossing powder melts it soaks in the shimmer to give your pieces a shimmery finish.

IMG_3276

Adhere a piece of cardboard to the back of your matting, this will give your layout dimension.

IMG_3268

Add your photo and matting to your layout.

IMG_3266

Time to add your Chipboard and Embellishments of choice (I almost always use flowers).

IMG_3296

You will notice some small beads and sequins I adhered after all the embellishments were adhered.

I also used  a paint brush and some of the mist to paint the Stenciling around the photo.

IMG_3297

Now your layout is finished!

IMG_3298

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial andwill try the chipboard technique!  It's fun and I use it over and over again!!

Thanks for stopping by today and remember to stop by everyday for more inspiration from our talented design team!

To assemble your shaker is very easy. First I traced the bottom layer bat piece to pattern paper and I adhered that down. I then adhered all the trim pieces on top of the base piece. I added my stickers to the center and a few candy dots to the right. Then filled it up with sequins and seed beads. I then glued down the clear bat piece to the trims pieces to secure the beads and sequins in the shaker.

Clearscraps Bat Shaker Party Favor 3

Before I adhered the top bat trim piece I heat embossed it with Black Opaque Powder. Then I colored the edges and the back of the bat with my  black marker to hide the brown chipboard color.

Fabulous Fall

Hi everyone, hope you are having a lovely fall day where you are.  Here in California the temperatures have cooled and we actually have had a bit of rain.  I really love this time of year, the colors, the pumpkins, the beautiful weather....

Today I wanted to share with you a Mixable Mini Album made with beautiful fall colors.

I decided to keep the chipboard naked as it just looks so pretty with the fall colors.  (and it doesn't hurt that it is a lot easier than covering with paper or painting.).

Thanks for stopping by.
