Mixable Edgy Album

Hello! It's Jennifer and I'm sharing a mini book I created using the fun Mixable Edgy Album!  The Mixable Albums are one of my favorite minis to use as I love the cascading pages of acrylic and chipboard. This album measures 5.5 x 8.0 so its big enough to fit your favorite photos!  For my album, I used both Instagram and 4x6 sized pictures.

The front page is acrylic and "postage stamp" shaped. I layered patterned paper and a cute chipboard frame and coordinating embellishments.

On the inside of the front cover, I used the space for journaling about our trip.  Also, will note I left the acrylic "bare" but you can easily add color with a little alcohol ink!

The next page is chipboard and has a cute scallop edge. I added a layer of white acrylic paint to the edges prior to embellishing.

Next up is another acrylic page...and again with a postage stamp edge!

Another way to add to your albums is to use envelopes or tags to insert as a page! I embellished a decorative envelope that I've had in my stash forever! You can add a small photo, journaling, or use up some of your stash!

For my next page I again used acrylic paint to cover the edges.  It's an easy way to help your pages stand out!

Here is the last page of my book...its a large, rectangular acrylic piece that easily fits a 4x6 photo!

Dreaming of Sunshine Layout

Hello! It's Jennifer and I'm on the blog today to share a fun layout with you!  One of my go to techniques to add depth to my pages is using the 12 inch Mascils and spray ink! Here, I used the 12 inch Cloud Mascil and blue spray ink on white card stock.

Here is a close up of the result!  You can use as much spray ink as you see fit for your project! I always like to have a little variance in the concentration of ink.

I also used one of the chipboard butterflies from the Monarch Butterfly Chipboard Embellishments set.   I'm going to show you an easy way to embellish your chipboard!

Clear_Scraps_Butterfly_Chipboard_Embellishment_layout2

First, I applied a light coat of white acrylic paint to the front of my butterfly.

After the paint is dry, apply clear embossing ink to the entire surface of the chipboard.  Next, I used embossing enamel (you can use regular embossing powder) and applied heat to set.

Here is a close up of my butterfly....the embossing enamel has pieces of metal included that create shiny areas!

I'm including a couple more photos of my layout! I used strips of patterned paper to create my own sun rays!

Soft Dragonfly Card by Pinky

Hey there friends, it's Pinky today with a fun mix between Clear Scraps Chipboard and Acrylic to create this card for a friend.

Clear Scraps Chipboard Dragonfly Acrylic Card by Pinky Hobbs2

For this card I cut our a 4"X6" piece of acrylic from a sheet of Clear Scraps 12X12 Acrylic and I took patterned paper and created strips using a border punch, then I adhered them to the edges of the card face.

Clear Scraps Chipboard Dragonfly Acrylic Card by Pinky Hobbs3 Clear Scraps Chipboard Dragonfly Acrylic Card by Pinky Hobbs1

I also took one of the new releases the Dragonflies Chipboard Embellishments, I painted them in 3 colors to create a soft graduated pattern on the Dragonfly. I adhered that to the face of the card then added some gemstones as a fluttery pattern. I set aside the face of the card and trimmed out  4X6 in patterned paper then adding a shimmer slightly smaller piece of yardstick over it and some word stickers.

After that I took a bone folder and added a crease at the top of the patterned paper around 1/2", and used that crease to adhere the base to the front of the card!

I love the end result, it's so soft and shimmery.

You could easily make them and set them up to make multiples.

Hope you enjoyed my project today!
