In Memory Of- For Pet Losses by Pinky

Good morning Clear Scraps friends, it's Pinky today and I have a special project for all those four footed friends who lose a pet. I never know what to do for my friends or family when they lose their beloved pet, so I decided to make little memory boards with photos. And today I wanted to share one I made using the Clear Scraps Small Scalloped Acrylic Clipboard.

I used the 12" Chicken Wire Mascil with a soft blue paint under the metallic paint.

I also used leftover stickers and pieces from the Creating Made Easy April 2016 Kit which was gorgeous and filled with Simple Stories perfect for support or loss.

There is nothing that comforts more then having a friend create something for you, when your heart is broken, paired with compassion and love.

I hope you have a beautiful crafty day friends.

A Plus With Clear Scraps!

Hey there Clear Scraps friends, it's Pinky today and I am not here with your usual Clear Scraps Designer post, today I am here to share a project that I helped my son with and a story about my son using Clear Scraps.

This is my son Justice, he is an incredible student with a straight A all AP high school bound academic history. He loves learning and wants to be a Veterinarian. He reads a minimum of one book a day!

Justice1 copy

Ok enough bragging right? My son was asked to do a 3D school project on a book he read So he decided on The Enemy by Charlie Higson which had Buckingham Palace in it with a fence and pond and garden.

Justice4 copy

For the pond which he wanted to be 2D/3D I decided to use a Clear Scraps 12X12 Acrylic Sheet cut into a pond shape so it would look like actual water. Now the first time we applied it, I used a Glass Effects pen in light blue, know I would add a darker blue over.

We created little water crests and set it out overnight to dry.

Justice5 copy

However when we woke up, we discovered his brother decided to run his finger all over so it became a swirly pond! haha

Justice6 copy

No everything was not to exact scale but he did receive 100% plus another 5 point bump for creativity. We used a 3D puzzle of Buckingham palace that he pieced.

It's amazing to see you children grow and to be able to use your craft supplies to help them. OFTEN my boys come to me and say "Mom what do you have in your craft room for this"? haha

I hope you enjoyed our personal story today, my son, my hero!

Happy Monday my friends! By the way, he turned 14 on the 28th. Such a kind sweet heart.

Summer Mini Rectangle Scallop Clipboard

Hello friends! Jennifer here to share a fun little project I created using the Mini Rectangle Scallop Clipboard!  I have said this before but the Clipboards have been one of my favorite releases so far!  The smaller sizes are great for home decor or to use a favorite Instagram or Instax photo!  I took this photo of my daughter and her friend getting ready for their first trip to the pool for the summer with my Instax camera. I thought it was a perfect fit for the size of the clipboard!

Clear_Scraps_Mini_Rectangle_Scallop_Clipboard

I started out by coloring my acrylic with alcohol ink (which is a fast and easy way to change the color of acrylic!).  After drying, I flipped my clipboard over to begin embellishing.

IMG_4311

Next, I adhered my background patterned paper using Beacon 3-in-1 Craft Glue.  I wanted to add some texture to my background by using texture paste and my 6 inch Diamonds Mascil. I applied a light coat of the texture paint not worrying about the coverage being perfect.

IMG_4313

And here is the final result!  It almost looks like little pieces of glass!

After dry, I was ready to add my photo and embellishments!

May XOXO Tag by Pinky

Hey there friends, t's just Pinky today with my version of the monthly tag! I know it's not February but I love LOVE the Clear Scraps 6" XOXO Mascil so I decided to use it on this tag.

Monthly Tag May Pinky Hobbs Clear Scraps1

I took the Clear Scraps 6" XOXO Mascil and used it  on the back of the Clear Scraps Tag from the Tag Album with paint, I probably should've used a brayer but I used a foam brush.

Monthly Tag May Pinky Hobbs Clear Scraps2

Then I used a pretty Cherry Rubon on the front, and some peachy paint around the edges. I did not have a sentiment that matched so I took a card stock quote I had and covered it in glitter paint to lighten it, and added it to the top. Then added some red ribbon. It has been so much fun playing with the Clear Scraps Tags!

Have you tried our downloadable tag instructions?

Have a  beautifully crafty day friends.

Clear_Scraps_Wishes_Chipboard_Word_Script_Title2

If you haven't played with the Clear Scraps Mascils yet, you must try them out! There is  large variety of designs in both 6 and 12 inch as well as Border Mascils.  Here, I used the 12 inch Circles Mascil with some spray in.  This is a great way to add some depth to your project!

IMG_4288

You can add as much ink as you see fit.....don't be afraid to play around!

IMG_4289

I added some die cut stars and enamel dots from the collection to accent my effect!

Clear_Scraps_Wishes_Chipboard_Word_Title_Script6

Clear_Scraps_Wishes_Chipboard_Word_Script_Title3

Now, I'm going to show you how I altered my chipboard title!  I first applied an even coat of black acrylic paint to the top of the word title.

IMG_4291

After dry, I directly applied my clear embossing ink directly to the top of the chipboard.  I made the entire surface was covered with ink.

IMG_4292

Next, I used a generous amount of black embossing powder to cover my chipboard.

IMG_4294

After brushing off the excess powder, I applied heat to set the color.  It creates a fun effect giving the chipboard a shiny look!

Us Layout by Leah

Good day friends!
Today I am sharing a layout I created using Clear Scraps Acrylic Sheet, Feather Mirror Embellishment, and Music border.

FeatherBorderLayout_LeahCrowe

On the front of the 12" Acrylic sheet I used my electronic die cutter to create the background. I then adhered another sheet of pattern paper on the backside of the acrylic. Essentially, this could be a double sided layout.

FeatherBorderLayout2_LeahCrowe

The mirror embellishments are so beautiful and perfect for any project.

The music border is much larger, but I cut it down to what I wanted for this layout. I can use the other piece at a later time for something else. Clear Scraps products are so versatile!

Hubby and I had a wonderful Anniversary.
Its nice to scrap about the two of us once in awhile. :)

Mixed Media Pillow~

Hi, Connie here with a Mixed Media project using the unique and very cool stencils by Clear Scraps.  I used a total of nine stencils on this project.  All the way from 12" to 6" stencils. I started with a texture paste and my favorite stencil by Clear Scraps.   Layer the stencils on the canvas pillow, overlapping the stencils is a good thing.

Clear Scraps stencils pillow Connie Mercer

Use acrylic paint, spray mists, Distress stains are all good to apply color the project.  When my project is complete I spray it with an acrylic sealer.  Sets the colors so no bleeding will occur if the project gets wet or damp.  I line up my colors of paint, along with the stencils I want to use.  Once I have used the stencils  I drop them-into the kitchen sink, full of warm soapy water,  for quick cleaning.  Then I lay them on a towel and let them dry.  Pretty "no fuss".

Example of permanent marker for outlining images.

Pillowmm3

Added some white highlights of color, to the letters, by using a small paint brush.

6" stencils: Lamps, Doily, Quaterfoil, Quilt, Chevron, Heart Arrow and Spiral Dots.

Summer Vibes Half Fancy Send It Clear Card

Hello Clear Scraps friends! Jennifer here on the blog today with a summer themed card and tutorial!  I know I'm ready for some warm weather and creating this card has me dreaming of summer fun!

I used the Half Fancy Send It Clear Card along with my 6 inch Polka Dots Mascil for my project.

Clear_Scraps_Half_Fancy_Send_It_Clear_Card

As always, coloring acrylic is easy with a light coat of alcohol ink.  With my ink applicator,

I used Ranger Alcohol ink in Butterscotch to cover each acrylic piece. One of the nice thing is that it dries very quickly!

IMG_4279

I secured my Mascil to the top portion of the card (the one with the scalloped edge) with a few pieces of washi tape.  This ensures your Mascil stays in place while applying your medium.

I then applied an even amount of texture paste....here I used Heidi Swapp's Metallic Texture Paste in Blue.

IMG_4280

Here is a close up of the final effect! The texture paint does take a bit to dry so make sure you allow plenty of time. Also, note that not every circle is perfect...and that's ok! You can apply as much or as little as you see fit.

IMG_4282

After allowing the paste to dry, I then embellished my card by adding patterned paper and coordinating die cuts and stickers!

Clear_Scraps_Half_Fancy_Send_It_Clear_Card2

Clear_Scraps_Half_Fancy_Send_It_Clear_Card3

On the inside of my card, I adhered a piece of woodgrain print paper with Beacon 3 in 1 Craft Glue (the best for acrylic!). I then stamped a sentiment as well as added additional embellishments.

Summer Mixed Media Vertical By Pinky

Hey there Clear Scraps friends, it's Pinky again today and this time I have a fun SUMMER project using the newest Vertical Expressions release from Clear Scraps, and I decided to make it fancy by using the Mixers and Mascils on the Summer Expression.

Summer Vertical Expression Pinky Hobbs Clear Scraps Krylon4

For the top I used the Cloud Mixers and created "fluffy" clouds using Modeling Paste and using the Mixer as a stencil with a dash of glitter.

I added the modeling paste sprinkled with white glitter, allowing it to fully dry then spray painted the back with a light blue paint.

Summer Vertical Expression Pinky Hobbs Clear Scraps Krylon3

After that I used the 3X12 Waves Border Mascil to paint some watery waves. I used a teal paint on the front and a lighter blue on the back.

Summer Vertical Expression Pinky Hobbs Clear Scraps Krylon1

Then I added sand paste to the bottom to represent the sun, sea, and sand of summer beach trips.

Summer Vertical Expression Pinky Hobbs Clear Scraps Krylon2

After everything dried I handpainted the sunglasses in a gold paint, then when it was dried I added the glitter "lens" with a paint brush and glitter.

It was a fu project that I hoped convey the love of the beach and summer. I am happy with the end result and cannot wait to hang it on my wall.

I love that the Mascils make fantastic stencils and the Mixers too!

Have a beautifully crafty day my friends,
