Hello Little One: Acrylic Scalloped Tab Album

Hello friends! Jennifer here on the blog today to share a mini book I created using the Acrylic Scalloped Tab Album. The Clear Scraps acrylic albums have always been my go-to ever since I started scrapbooking!  I love the variety of shapes as well as the excellent quality of these books! I used a cute baby boy line from Carta Bella to make a brag book!

I used a star background cut file and backed with a darker pattern before adhering to my page. I am a fan of layering papers...its gives a little bit of dimension to your projects.

On one of my pages, I created a pocket to insert a manila tag that I decorated.

Hiding tags in pockets or behind photos is a great way to add more elements to your books.  Here, I used a stamp to add birth date details.

In addition to pockets, you can also use a bone folder to create a flap. I usually will add stitching to hold the top layer in place.

I added a tab to the bottom of the flap along with buttons to accent.

And here is the inside of the flap...I left room for an additional photo as well as added some cut coordinating stickers.

I love adding extra pages to my mini books! Here, I used a kraft envelope that I altered with modeling paste and my 6 Inch Polka Dots Mascil.

I then added pattered paper and adhered the flap shut using a brad and some bakers twine.

Acrylic Layout

Goodness Layout by Irene Tan 1

Hello Clear Scraps fans! It's Irene here. Today I want to share another layout with you all. This time, I've used Clear Scraps 12 x 12 acrylic sheet and some stencils to create this layout.

Goodness Layout by Irene Tan 3

This is another floating effect layout. I've used the dragonfly wallpaper stencil with some white gesso to create the dimensional dragonflies on this layout. I've also decorated the dragonflies with some dimensional crystals. To create the title, I've used the Fruit Of Spirit stencil

Pinky's March Neon Tag

Hey there Clear Scraps friends, it is Pinky today with my tag for March using the new Clear Scraps Tag Album & Tag Box Set from the 2016 CHA Release!

I was really feeling the rainbow, neon vibe so I decided to experiment and make a very colorful tag for the month.

March Clear Scraps Neon Inspiring Tag Pinky Hobbs1

For this take I used four different alcohol inks which I dropped onto the back of the tag from the Tag Album after removing the protective film. Then I allow it to dry.I tamped it with a dabber to spread it all out.

After it dried completely I used a very light yellow spray paint (Krylon) to paint over and make it more opaque.

March Clear Scraps Neon Inspiring Tag Pinky Hobbs2

You will never guess what I used for the Clear Scraps Butterfly Mixers?! I used nail polish, yes regular old nail polish. They were sitting by my craft table the I thought the colors would go so well, so I removed the protective film from the backs of the butterflies, then I coated each one in nail polish and set it aside to dry while I created the stamped sentiment.

Now I tried to stamp on the tag directly but the color wasn't as bright as I wanted, so I used nail polish remover and removed the stamped image and stamped it on paper. Then distressed it with StazOn green inks.

I used a vivid green ribbon for the top after everything tried up nicely and yes it takes some time, but it was worth it, changing techniques.

I hope you enjoyed my project today, it was a fun experiment!

Happy Monday my friends, until next time, keep on creating.

Reversible clipboard with Clear Scraps

Hi, Connie here with a cute idea using the Mini Vintage Clipboard by Clear Scraps.   I had the idea to decorate both sides using one side for a photo and the other side a note pad. Let me show you~

Feb3

The clip is removable so making this concept even better.  The clip is decorated with buttons.

Side one~ the photo side.

Feb1

Side two~ need a note pad, take the clip off and turn it around to the note pad. Place the clip back on the clipboard.   A two in one project, useful and decorative.

Faith Handmade Home Decor Piece by Pinky

Hey there friends, it's Pinky today with a handmade Faith Home Decor project.

I can't always find the wall pieces I want in the right colors etc...and also I love to have handmade projects on the wall, so I decided to make this "Blessings" Cross Clipboard piece to have by my computer in my craft room. Clear Sraps Cross Clipboard Mini Pinky Hobbs Krylon1

Here is how I created this piece:

  1. Remove protective film from the back of a Clear Scraps Clipboard Mini Oval. You can see it will go in any direction! Just move the clip.
  2. Use Metallic Gold StazOn ink Ink entire back of the Clear Scraps Clipboard Mini Oval.
  3. Take Clear Scraps Chipboard Roman Cross ink entire cross in dark brown ink. Clear Sraps Cross Clipboard Mini Pinky Hobbs Krylon2
  4. Take xClear Scraps Clipboard Mini Oval after StazOn dries and spray paint OVER Gold Ink with brown spray paint OR you can use regular paint in dark brown or suede.
  5. Set aside to dry, and lightly ink Clear Scraps Chipboard Roman Cross using same Gold Metallic StazOn ink.
  6. Take patterned paper banner, or just paper and stamp BLESSINGS onto paper.
  7. After Clear Scraps Clipboard Mini Oval dries completely, removed protective film from the front and use Gold Metallic StazOn to ink edges on the front.
  8. Adhere Clear Scraps Chipboard Roman Cross to front of Clear Scraps Clipboard Mini Oval  using Beacon solvent based adhesive.
  9. Adhere Blessings sentiment at the bottom.

That's it! Now you have your own meaningful project to share in your home.

Clear Scraps actually makes more then one Cross Design and several Chipboard Titles that would fit in very well!

Happy Thursday friends <3

Until next time...

Spring is on the way!

Happy Morning Clear Scraps friends!
I am really looking forward to warmer weather and beautiful flowers.

Spring is just 18 days away!
To celebrate that, I have the brand new Expressions Spring Word title to share with you today.

LRC_ClearScraps_SPRINGWord

I back each letter with a different pattern paper.

If you look closely you can see where I embossed the word as well, then used Copic
Markers to bring attention to the impressions on the acrylic.

LRC_ClearScraps_SPRINGWord2

I adhered a few embellishments, and voila, a beautiful spring home decor piece.

Have a great week!
