Acrylic Love decor

Altered Acrylic Love Decor by Irene Tan 01

Hello Clear Scraps fans! It's Irene here and today, I would like to share with you all a home decor piece featuring Clear Scraps acrylic "Love" expression.

Altered Acrylic Love Decor by Irene Tan 03

I've covered the acrylic "Love" expression with some pattern papers and later decorate it with tons of flowers. I've decided to make it into a hanging home decor. Therefore, I've punched a hole on its top and tie a trim to it.

Most of you have asked me on the type of adhesives that I used on my projects. As you can see from this project, I've attached the pattern papers from the back of the acrylic "love" expression to keep it's glossiness in the front. You will need a strong and dries clear glue for this. My "go to" adhesives for this will always be Beacon 3 in 1 Advanced Craft Glue or Beacon Zip Dry. Both adhesives works amazingly on all my projects.

Family Quote - Mini Clipboard.

Hello everyone and happy spring!!! Today I am sharing this very simple project I've created with the small acrylic mini clipboard.  I really like how it turned out, it's fast and easy to make, besides you can never have enough of this mini projects. My favorite spot in the house for these  is on my  refrigerator door - just add a magnet in the back and you're done.

To add color, I used ink pads and embossing powder  onto the acrylic.  Apply heat to dry. Note- using heat gun tool will warp the shape of the acrylic but  I like the end result.  Then cut and trace the  shape of the acrylic onto a patterned paper and adhere into the back.  Add embellishments on top to complete.

For The Love Of Paws by Pinky

Hey there again Clear Scraps friends, it's just me, Pinky today and I have an altered Clear Scraps Acrylic Clipboard to share that I turned into a wall hanging.

My son has been getting into photography like his momma and he has a knack for photographing pets so I took some snap shots he took with his phone and had them printed for an idea I had as a gift for a friend.  Better Together Acrylic Clipboard Clear Scraps Pinky Hobbs3

My friend just lost her father in law and these sweet babies comfort her so much, I thought it would be sweet to make her a wall hanging out of a Clear Scraps Small Deco Landscape Clipboard to have the memories.

To create the hearts on the Clear Scraps Clipboard I spray painted the back using Krylon spray paint of course, and I used the Clear Scraps 12" Heart Arrow Mascil/ Stencil on the back side.

Better Together Acrylic Clipboard Clear Scraps Pinky Hobbs1

The Heart Arrow Mascil/ Stencil is so versatile, it really doesn't have to be an arrow if you place it on a small surface. I framed the photos using little insta-photo frames from Jillian Soup.

Better Together Acrylic Clipboard Clear Scraps Pinky Hobbs2

Of course I used my favorite Beacon Zip Dry Adhesive because it works every single time!

I just used the extra stickers and quotes from the patterned paper kit I had purchased and laid it out like a scrapbook page. I really wanted it to be clear so I didn't use any more mediums. I actually love how it turned out and my son is so proud I displayed his photographs!

What are YOU working on this week?

Until next time, have a beautifully crafty day friends.

Paint is my favorite medium to use on my acrylics or any project that create. Paint is easy and love the vibrant colors. I use both paint and patterned paper to decorate the pages. I thought of spring for this project.

Bible Journaling with Clear Scraps

Hello! Jennifer here on the blog today to share what I did with some of the  new Border Mascils! Bible Journaling has really taken off in the past year and Clear Scraps has five different designs to choose from!  I have a few techniques that I used with each Mascil.

For my first pages, I used the 3x12 He Lives Border Mascil.

CSSMBRhelives-2

Clear_Scraps_Bible_Journaling4

I used a combination of acrylic paints and my journaling pen with the stencil.

Clear_Scraps_Bible_Journaling5

Clear_Scraps_Bible_Journaling6

It's always a good idea to secure your Mascil with washi tape before using any type of paint or ink. Also, I use a protective sheet behind my pages as I am painting.  The sun is perfect for a corner of your page...I used yellow acrylic paint and then outlined with my black journaling pen.

For my next spread, I used the 3x12 My Joy Mascil! I have to say the dove is my favorite!

CSSMBRmyjoy-2

I colored my pages using Distress Inks in blues, greens, and red.

Clear_Scraps_Bible_Journaling

I opted to use a foam applicator to ensure I could get into the smaller spaces of the branches and leaves.

IMG_3734

For the dove, I used metallic texture paste in white. Don't be afraid to apply a thick layer. I wanted to add a bit of texture to my page.

Using the 3x12 Made New Mascil on my last page with spray inks and acrylic paint.

Forever And Always

Good morning Clear Scraps family!

LRC_ForeverCard3_ClearScraps

Today I am sharing a gorgeous Send it Clear Belgrave Card.
My husband and I have our wedding anniversary coming up at the end of the month and I wanted to create a little something for the special occasion. We've been happily wedded for 14 years now.

LRC_ForeverCard_ClearScraps

I love how quickly these cards come together, they practically decorate themselves.
I also love that he doesn't mind the flowers and fru-fru I like to add to my creations. :)

LRC_ForeverCard2_ClearScraps

I've always wanted to see Paris with him - maybe after the kids graduate and leave the roost, which will be many more years to come. This is a little reminder that our romantic holiday is waiting on us.

Thanks for popping in and letting me share with you!
Which Clear Scraps Send it Clear card design is your favorite?

Mine is Belgrave, it has such a classic design.

Stenciled Cheese Grater Jewelry Stand by Pinky

Hey there friends, it's Pinky today with a project that really is for any DIYer or crafter who likes to make things as gifts or for themselves. I have seen these Cheese Grater Jewelry holders forever it seems and I really wanted t personalize one for myself. But I wanted it to POP!

So why not add some Clear Scraps goodness to make it an amazing gift.

Clear Scraps Stencil Cheese Grater Earring Holder Pinky Hobbs2

Of course you can use any cheese grater, new or old, they are quite inexpensive in fact.

I took some spray paints and one of my favorite Clear Scraps Mascils/Stencils, the 6" Groovy Hearts Mascil.

Really the 6" stencils fit perfectly on the grater itself making an easy decorating area.

Clear Scraps Stencil Cheese Grater Earring Holder Pinky Hobbs1

Once you paint the entire grater, you set the 6" Groovy Hearts mascil on the grater, and use several paints to make it pop with graduated colors. It's easy to place and if you need it held down you can use a glue dot, but I did not need one to create mine. I wanted a pretty base color so I chose teal.

Clear Scraps Stencil Cheese Grater Earring Holder Pinky Hobbs3

Because you will be using a metal friendly spray paint, I do suggest a sealer and 24 hours dry time before using or it can be slightly sticky. I believe it is because the paint is a bit thicker with a primer built into the paint before you use it. Also be sure to clean the grater with alcohol a well.

There are so many Clear Scraps Mascil/stencil designs you really an customize it to any style you like, and the Doily Mascil would make it more vintage style!

I am thinking of making these for  gifts during the holidays, really they would make a fun customized gift you could add a name to as well.

I hope you enjoyed my project today, it's definitely a great one for kids or anyone who love DIY!

Have a beautiful Wednesday my friends.

Until next time-

Peace be still- By Susan Frase

Peace be still-

20160312_090012

Peace be still? What does this look like to you? I had big plans of coloring this amazing masterpiece around Mark 4:39. I had this vision of a beautiful page colored and decorated just right. It would be absolutely amazing. The thing was, the more I tried to control the page and the coloring the more chaotic it became. Needless to say it was not turning out as I had planned. Boy is that true of the different seasons of life. Then I realized that once again I was trying to control what was happening instead of just enjoying the coloring.  I don’t know about you but I know for us and our family there has been a lot of chaos in our lives lately. Trying to stay in that peaceful space just seems a bit far to reach sometimes. I started to dig into the word about finding peace and to be still. Jesus rebuked the winds to calm the sea in Mark 4:39. I have found that when my mind starts to head down that path of fear I have to rebuke that fear and re-focus on His words of faith. We cannot have a fear thought and a faith thought at the same time, it is one or the other.  We must rebuke the fear and lean into the faith thoughts, even if we have to fake it until we believe it. In John 14:27 Jesus says ” Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives to you. Let not your heart not be troubled nor be afraid.”  Peace I leave with you? Not as the world gives to you? What??? When we lean into Jesus that’s where we find the peace. I don’t know what may be going on in your life but remember that the Creator does and He’s got this, even if your life’s coloring page does not look as beautiful as you think it should be.

So I share with you my bible journal page using the new Peace be still and the wave border Mascil. It’s funny because the more I have been looking at my mess of a page the more I really am enjoying it.

Have you tried Bible journaling yet? I would love to see your page and hear your story, please share with us on our Facebook page.

Vintage Phone Stand by Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with, my take on, the Vintage Phone Stand by Clear Scraps.   I must say I thought this product was brilliant and clever.  My mom has claimed this one as hers.

Ps4

This was pretty simple to put together.  Here is how I approached this creative project!

Instructions:

Cover the acrylic back (that holds the phone) with pattern paper and ink around the edges.  Remember to remove the plastic film from both sides of the phone stand.

Ps1

Use Black StazOn to add color to the  Phone Stand.  Let dry for a few minutes.

Ps3

Now for the fun part, add some stencil images.  The 6" Chevron by Clear Scraps is perfect for this.  Black StazOn Ink works well.

Ps5

Add a few embellishments and twine and it is ready to use.  In my case, ready to give to my mom!!

Products used:

Clear Scraps~ Acrylic Vintage Phone Stand

Clear Scraps~ 6" Chevron Stencil
