Personalized Phone Case By Pinky!

Hey there friends, it's Pinky again today and I wanted to share a personal project I created before CHA 2016 but I keep this one for myself!

I LOVE Clear Scraps Mascils/Stencils and when I found some spray paint to cover all mediums I decided to personalize my phone case!

10

For this one I picked the best Spray Paint (MAXX) from Krylon and I took the case apart removing the rubber. Then I cleaned the plastic case with alcohol.

8

I spray painted it in light blue, and allowed it to dry for about 4 hours.

After that I placed the 6" Groovy Hearts Mascil (stencil) from Clear Scraps on it, and I used 3 colors to graduate them over the stencil.

9

After that dried about 4 hours, I used Metallic Gold spray paint and painted the edges.

Now I let that dry 24 hours, so yes this takes time! haha

Then I spray painted SEVERAL light coats of clear coat on it.

Now after a couple months I found out you need several coats of clear coat and possibly a 24 hour drying time before adding the last coat, because the original I only coated twice and it eventually rubbed off. So lesson learned and passed to you!

ANY Clear Scraps Mascil will work, just choose your favorite!

What can you do with CS Stencils? They are amazing.

Until next time...

New Acrylic Clipboard

A Beautiful Moment Clipboard by Irene Tan 01

Hello Clear Scraps fans! It's Irene here. Have you got a chance to play with an acrylic clipboard by Clear Scraps? If not, you've got to get your hands on some of it and play! They are so much fun and a perfect way to decorate your home with.

As you all know, one of my most favorite project to create would be layouts. However, it is not easy to showcase them around the house without framing them. But with these acrylic clipboards, I could easily create my layouts on them and hang them around the house.

Here are some close-ups.

Do you know that Clear Scraps has some gorgeous new chipboard embellishment? I've used Clear Scraps bike with basket chipboard embellishment on my project. I've just painted it with white acrylic paint and it is perfect for this project.

Hope to see you again and happy scrapping!

SPRING Vertical Expression by Pinky

Hey there friends, it's Pinky again today with the newest goody from the Expressions line, the VERTICAL Expression Spring!

CHA 2016 January Pinky Hobbs Clear Scraps7

You know how much I love spray paint on the Clear Scraps acrylics, and for this project I graduated some very spring pastels on the back of the SPRING Expressions, and on the front I used the new 6" Butterfly Tear Drop Mascil which is simply adorable.

I also graduated the paint on that using two blue tones.

CHA 2016 January Pinky Hobbs Clear Scraps8

Here is a closeup and of course I added some Butterfly Mixers just to add dimension.

I cannot wait to hang it in the spring!

Have you seen all of the designs? They are so fun. Easy and customizable home decor.

Have a beautiful day friends,

Mini Mixable Dainty Album

Hello! I hope you've been enjoying the new releases and what the design team has created!   We always hope we are inspiring you to create with Clear Scraps!  Today, I'm sharing one of the new products that is simply adorable: the Mini Mixable Dainty Album!  This cute mini is just 3.5x5 and perfect for your Instax photos or wallet sized pictures!  My daughter and friend were goofing off one afternoon, so I decided to capture some fun photos of them!

Clear_Scraps_Mini_Fancy_Mixable

I covered my first page with patterned paper as well as utilized some of my border punches to embellish the edge of the page! I then layered hand punched shapes with a cute, small chipboard frame and the coordinating buttons and epoxy word.

Clear_Scraps_Mini_Fancy_Mixable2

On the inside of my first page, I layered more patterned paper as well as added one of my favorite Clear Scrap products: the Butterfly mixer!  The first page is chipboard which I first painted with white acrylic paint.  I then adhered my patterned paper and again used a border punch (I have so many that I don't use so I challenge you to use a tool that you haven't gotten out lately!)

Clear_Scraps_Mini_Fancy_Mixable3

Here is a close up of the button border I made along the bottom of my photo...it's a great way to add some dimension to your page!

Clear_Scraps_Mini_Fancy_Mixable4

Embellishing a smaller mini album such as this is a perfect opportunity to get into your stash and use up some of your smaller embellishments! I used a tiny pennant hand punch as well as a few of my wood veneer shapes to accent my pages!

Clear_Scraps_Mini_Fancy_Mixable5

Stamping a sentiment or using washi tape is another way to embellish your photos without overloading your page!

Clear_Scraps_Mini_Fancy_Mixable6

Here is a shot of the back of my album...I added a small label to jot down my initials and the date.  :)

Clear_Scraps_Mini_Fancy_Mixable8

Thank you for checking out the blog today! I hope you are inspired to make a little mini album of your own!  Have a wonderful day!

Additional products used:  patterned paper, buttons, epoxy shapes/words: Fancy Pants Designs; stamps, journaling pen: American Crafts; bakers twine: Whisker Graphics; wooden veneer shapes: Studio Calico; chipboard frame: Crate Paper; label: October Afternoon; misc: thread, sewing machine, white acrylic paint.

Winter Tag by Pinky

Hey there friends, it's Pinky today with my January Tag.

As you know we are going to be sharing tags every month. I am sharing how I created my tag as well, in case you want to make one. For the first part I took the protective film off the back and used the 6" Holly Christmas Bulbs Mascil/Stencil and some light blue spray paint to create my snowflakes.

Clear Scraps January Monthy Tag by Pinky Hobbs Krylon Gliter1

After that dried I spray the back with adhesive and added a white glitter. Because I didn't want the glitter to be flaky and fall off, I sealed it with a clear spray paint.

Clear Scraps January Monthy Tag by Pinky Hobbs Krylon Gliter2

When that was complete I used a snowflake stamp and StazOn ink in Cotton White and added snowflakes.

Clear Scraps January Monthy Tag by Pinky Hobbs Krylon Gliter3

Then a pearl pen in silver, all around. I also added a couple of sticker embellishments and added a smidgen of silver glitter for fun.

Clear Scraps January Monthy Tag by Pinky Hobbs Krylon Gliter4

The top is simply tulle tied through the tag. The Tag was from the Tag Album and Box Set, so they all have a beautiful coordinating box.

I love how shimmery and fun it was to create, and I hope you love making tags too.

Have a beautifully crafty day friends.

I am going to highlight just a few steps because you can download and print the full instruction at the bottom of the post (see below)

Take the Clear Scraps acrylic tag and run thru an embossing machine with some sort of script embossing envelope. Leave the protective film on the acrylic.  IMG_1289_edited-1On the back side of the acrylic tag and both front and back of the chipboard embellishments apply
alcohol ink. Cover all pieces to desired look. Take distress ink to the chipboard to create desired look.
Turn acrylic tag over so embossing is facing up. Remove the protective film from the front. Take
black staz-on ink pad and gently rub over the embossed area to create desired look.
IMG_1293_edited-1 IMG_1296_edited-1

Apply lace and ribbon to the front as shown in picture. Start layering the chipboard embellishments as
desired. Be sure to always use a solvent based adhesive when adhering to the acrylic. Finish off with
stamped sentiment, ribbon and film strip embellishment.

Folk Flower Stencil by Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a card using one of the new Folk Flower 6" stencil by Clear Scraps.  Stencils are a clever way to add color and design to your card front.  They also make a mean background for projects.

Card

I colored the stencil in with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk inks.  I tape off the section so ink doesn't get in parts of the stencil that I don't want colored.   Painters tape works great for that. Peels off easy without damaging the stencil.  The stencil was laid flat on white cardstock and colored with a small flat steeple brush.

Also new is chipboard words ~ Believe  !!!  I want them all. They are so easy to add ink and embellish.  And they look fabulous!!

Woof! Mixable Album

Hello friends!  Jennifer on the blog today to share a mini album using the NEW Mixable Woof 8x9 Album!  This cute mini is perfect to show off your favorite doggie photos with four different acrylic and chipboard pages!

Clear_Scraps_Doggie_Mixable

The first page is a perfectly cut acrylic word to accent the front of your album! I used red alcohol ink to color the acrylic followed by using white paint to line the edges.

Clear_Scraps_Doggie_Mixable2

Next is a chipboard bone-shaped page that is the right size for a wallet photo or to jot down some journaling about your canine friend! I covered this page with patterned paper and added a chipboard frame to highlight my little pug :)

Clear_Scraps_Doggie_Mixable3

On the backside of this page is where I added my journaling.....I created a pocket to slide in a kraft tag with typed info about our dog.

Clear_Scraps_Doggie_Mixable4

Clear_Scraps_Doggie_Mixable5

The next page is an acrylic shaped fire hydrant which is so adorable!  I again used red alcohol ink to color the acrylic before adhering my  patterned paper and photo.

Clear_Scraps_Doggie_Mixable6

Clear_Scraps_Doggie_Mixable7

Next up is a chipboard heart-shaped page!  Because we do love our pets! :)  I covered the heart with patterned paper, using a sanding tool to smooth any overhangs.  I also used a light amount of white acrylic paint to line the edges of the chipboard.

Clear_Scraps_Doggie_Mixable8

I found this page was just the right size for a 4x4 or Instagram photo!

Clear_Scraps_Doggie_Mixable9

The last page of the album is an acrylic dog house with a cute paw print cut out of the top.  This page has lots of room for a larger photo or more journaling!

Clear_Scraps_Doggie_Mixable10

I always like to cover the back of my albums with more patterned paper as well as a die cut or sticker if possible! I used a cute little dog house from the collection I used and added my initials and date!

Clear_Scraps_Doggie_Mixable11

The Woof! Mixable Album is also perfect as a gift to a friend with a new puppy or perhaps to fill pictures of a pet that's recently passed. Either way, this fun Mixable will be a heart felt keepsake!

Hey there friends! It's Pinky today with an awesome NEW design from Clear Scraps, a Folder Box! Perfect for your embossing folder storage or anything else you decide.

Clear Scraps Pinky Hobbs Embossing Folder Box Krylon2

I was very excited to create this project, before I assembled it, I laid the entire project out, I removed the protective film. For the front and sides I used the 12" Chevron Mascil (Stencil) and 3 colors of pastel spray paint.

Clear Scraps Pinky Hobbs Embossing Folder Box Krylon1

On the top I sprayed the light pink, then graduated to the pastel purple, then onto the teal color.

On the back I did the same thing, only when it dried I also spray painted over the Chevron Mascil design- GOLD metallic spray paint. For the bottom panel I painted it solid gold. It's shimmery and fun.

I used the same spray paint to paint the paper flowers and added gold metallic buttons.
