Today's lattice inspired layout uses Clear Scraps 12 x 12 blank acrylic sheet to provide stability, while still allowing the see thru effect of the open lattice design.
To create the lattice effect, you will simply weave 1/2 inch strips of 18 inch pattern paper or cardstock. When you are finished, trim and adhere your ends to the layout. Now take 1/8 inch strips of pattern paper or cardstock and frame the edge of the layout.
I colored the acrylic Pennant embellishment with an alcohol marker. To create the distressed look, I put a bit of alcohol down on my craft mat, dabbed a piece of burlap into the alcohol and then placed it on the colored pennant for approximately 5 seconds. The alcohol with lift the color on the pennant. I painted white acrylic paint on the back of the pennants to make the coloring pop.
