Gears Acrylic Album

Hello! Jennifer here to share a mini book I created with the Gears Acrylic Album!  I love the selection of shapes that Clear Scraps offers! The Gears Album is so fun and perfect for your favorite boy photos! I have had these pictures of my 3 yr old nephew that I've been wanting to scrap for awhile and I've had this album in mind!  I love how it turned out!

Clear_Scraps_Acrylic_Gear_Album

I added one of the new Feather Mirror Embellishments to give the front of my album some shine! IClear_Scraps_Acrylic_Gear_Album2

I also wanted to add a little texture to my front page so what better way then to use modeling paste!  I secured the 6 inch Polka Dot Mascil to the front with washi tape. Using a firm downward motion, I lightly applied the paste.

IMG_2051

Before the paste dries, you can add glitter or spray ink to give an extra element to your effect!

IMG_2053

Here is the finished result!  Remember it doesn't have to be perfect; don't be afraid to play a bit with different mediums.

For each of my pages, I layered different patterned papers and embellishments in the center and then tried to "mirror" each side to each other. I like to ensure nothing shows through on each page.

Mini Tag acrylic album

Good morning Clear Scraps friends!
Today I am sharing a mini tag acrylic album.
There are so many possible uses for these, but I just chose to create a quick mini album from our trip to the park a few months back.

LRC_ClearScraps_MiniAcrylic

I adhered pattern paper to the backside of the acrylic, then built layers using scraps of paper and ribbon when I added my photos.

After I photographed this mini album I then remembered to write in where the photos were taken and the date. ;-)

I printed my photos at home and 1.5" square was perfect for this project.

Patriotic Welcome Sign by Pinky

Hey there crafters, it's Pinky today with a fun patriotic door hanger just in time for the 4th of July.

Did you know Clear Scraps makes many XL Expressions Words? Welcome is one of them. Clear Scraps Welcome Sign Pinky Hobbs Stazon4

For this project I took Midnight Blue StazOn ink and a star stamp and I stamped the front of the word.

Clear Scraps Welcome Sign Pinky Hobbs Stazon2

After that I painted the back using a white paint and a foam brush. I set it aside to dry.

When it dried completely I edges the entire project with red paint.

Card Sticks with Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with "cards on a stick".  Great for a potted plant or a candy jar. Just stick them in what you want to use as a gift.  I used the Butterflies Mirror Embellishments and the 6" Doily Stencil by Clear Scraps. Here's what I came up with and how I made them~

June16

Instructions:

* Peel the film off of the Mirror Butterfly Embellishments by Clear Scraps.

June17

* Stencil the Doily image on the front of the butterflies with black StazOn Ink.  Let dry.

* Use a paint pen and add the paint dots around the Doily Stencil. Let dry.

* Collect up some cards and pretty papers. Layer them together and staple in the center

* Punch a hole on the top and one on the bottom.  That is what you run the stick through.  Depending on the size of stick is going to depend on what size of hole you will need to punch.

* Adhere the Butterfly Mirror Embellishment to each cluster of papers.  I used hot glue.

* Add twine or other embellishments.

* All ready to sign and add to the gift.

Accept Home Decor

Hi everyone, Nancy here today to share with you a fun, custom, wall decor piece I made using an XL Dots and a custom Clear Word Title.

My One Little Word this year is Accept.  Sometimes I find it difficult to accept things the way they are.  So I made this home decor piece to remind me to accept the things I can not change.  Whether that is with my body, my relationships, my children.  Sometimes you just have to let things go and accept them the way they are.

Accept_clearscraps_crate paper_nancy keslin

To create the texture on my word title I simply painted the back side with a bit of acrylic paint, then used Staz-on White ink to stamp a pattern with a stampendous stamp.  After stamping with the white ink, I added a bit of color with another ink pad.

I love the dimension of the clear items layered one over the other.  So much fun.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs.

Stenciled Card by Pinky

Hey friends, it's Pinky today.

I have so many products I love from Clear Scraps but I have to say two of my favorites are the Mascils, and of course the innovative Send It Clear Card line! Today I combined the two!

Clear Scraps Send It Clear Card Gesso Mica Powder Pinky Hobbs4
For this card I took Gesso and the Corner Flourish Mascil and I created the beautiful flourish on the front flaps.

Clear Scraps Send It Clear Card Gesso Mica Powder Pinky Hobbs1

After allowing it to dry I then rubbed a bronze Mica Powder on it. I also rubbed the powder on the papers I used to create a shimmery coordinated color look. Clear Scraps Send It Clear Card Gesso Mica Powder Pinky Hobbs2

When I was done I rubbed the powder on the flowers as well, then added the key to the cover.

A wonderful vintage style card I hope the recipient loves!

Until next time, keep on creating my friends,

Clears Scraps Loves Ruby Rock It!

Good morning, Friends! This week the inspiration has been on overdrive with all the amazing projects combining Clear Scraps and Ruby Rock It products!

Leah here with you to share this sweet layout featuring Ruby Rock It's Nostalgia collection. I was so inspired by the papers, I used this photo of my sweet girl when she was 18 months old. (16 1/2 years ago)

LRC_ClearScraps_RubyRockIt

I loved the corrugated cardstock and designed my layout around that.
I am always reaching for Clear Scraps embellishments to add the perfect touch to my creations.

LRC_ClearScraps_RubyRockIt3

The Acrylic title, LOVE was decorated using Gelatos, as well as the bird near the title, and the flower layered over the chipboard spinner piece.

Clear Scraps and Ruby Rock It Hop!

You are going to love these projects by Irene and Nancy today!

Remember When Mini Album by Irene Tan 1

Hi everyone! It's Irene here and today is my turn to share with you my project for this hop! I've used Clear Scraps mixable tags 6 x 8 album with Ruby Rock It's Nostalgia collection.

This is a gift album for a friend. I've chosen the warm yellows and blacks in the collection to decorate this album.

Remember When Mini Album by Irene Tan 2

To create a textured background on the front cover, I've used a "shattered glass" mascil by Clear Scraps and some texture paste. I've also used an oval scallop mirror frame to layer the embellishment on it.

Since it is a gift album, I've kept the pages in this album very simple. Here are some pictures of the pages in it.

Hope you all like my project for this hop! Check back for more projects featuring both Clear Scraps and Ruby Rock It! See you soon!

Hi everyone, Nancy here today to share with you a card I made using one of the fun Clear Scraps Send-it Clear cards and Ruby Rock-it/Bella papers.  I love the Rustic Charm wedding line from Ruby Rockit/Bella!  The papers have beautiful, trendy colors and patterns with just a bit of sheen that lend themselves wonderfully to other projects as well.  For this card I chose to go with the wedding theme as they were also nice enough to send a few coordinating embellishments.

Wedding_card_clearscraps_ruby rocket_nancy keslin

On the inside of the card I used a couple of Mascils, 6" Damask and 6" Chevron, with both embossing paste and gel medium.

I love the combination of these papers and the Clear Scraps Deco Send it Clear Card.  The two came together so quickly.  If you want to see how I did the texture on the inside of the card, check out the complete tutorial here.

Clear Scraps and Ruby Rock It Hop!

Hello friends!  Clear Scraps is teaming up with Ruby Rock-It  this week!  First up we have Jennifer.

We have some fun Ruby Rock-It paper and embellishments to play with!  I covered the Clear Scraps 3.5 x 5 Clear Box with their paper, as well as added the Clear Scraps Bird and Cage Embellishments!

Clear_Scraps_Clear_Box_Small

Here is a photo of the outside of the box. I used Ranger Alcohol inks to color both the cage and bird to help them stand out!

Clear_Scraps_Clear_Box_Small2

The inside of the Clear Box is perfect for little tokens or you can create a mini album, as I did.

Clear_Scraps_Clear_Box_Small3

I used different patterned papers from Ruby Rock It, as well as small embellishments from my stash.  I chose to not add photos but just create a sort of ATC like pages. You can easily add in some 2x2 photos though!

Happy Day Layout...

Today I'm sharing a layout using the smaller of the XL Dots. I love creating clear layouts and the round shape adds a bit of whimsy to the layout design.

CS_june15_circle layout2_wprice

I began by stamping the rose design in Versamark on watercolor paper and embossing it with white embossing powder. Next I colored the design with a variety of mediums, watercolor pencils, gelatos and pastel pencils. After I was happy with the design, I added layers of stenciling.

CS_june15_circle layout3_wprice

Next I adhered the stamped paper to the front of the XL Dots and trimmed around the edge. To make the edge of the layout stand out, I inked it with black StazOn. I sanded a Feather Mixer on both sides to use as an embellishment for the layout.

Other Supplies Used:

  • Stampendous Timeless Rose Cling Stamp, white embossing powder
  • Faber Castell Aquarelles, Pitt Pastels, Gelatos

Teapot Album With Pearl Swap by Pinky

Hey there friends, Pinky today and I will fully admit I went a little Clear Scraps crazy with this Acrylic Teapot Mini Album today! I made this for a friend who is headed to Europe and all I could think of was "high tea" in England so I decided the Teapot Album was perfect.

Clear Scraps Acrylic Teapot Mini Album Pinky Hobbs Canvas Corp1
For the cover I used the Pearl Swag Border Mascil with some black gesso.

And of course I had to use one of the Ornate Flourish Mirrored Embellishments for one of the pages, it went perfectly!

On the back I used a sewing machine patterned type paper, I love the visual it gives.

Gears Mirror Embellishments Layout

Hello friends! Jennifer here on the blog today to share a fun layout I created using the Gears Mirror Embellishments!  I wanted to make a cute page just for Father's Day and I thought the gears would make the perfect accent!

Clear_Scraps_Mirror_Gears_layout

I also used the 12 inch Wood Grain Mascil with spray ink for my background!  I love the texture it gives to the page! I didn't go heavy on the spray but you can create as light or dark background as you like!  Not only are the Mascils fun to work with, but they stay in place so you always have a clean image!

IMG_1960

Using ephemera and hand punched circles, I layered the gears above and  below my photo! I thought they went perfect with the circle theme!

Like acrylic, the Mirrored Embellishments can be left bare or colored with alcohol ink!
