Today we have Wendy and Nancy up!!!

Be sure to check the Stampendous blog too!

Wendy is up first-

Clear Scraps and Stampendous are teaming up this week to bring you oodles of inspiration! For today's project I used one of the Large Acrylic Banners. Not only do they make awesome banners, but at 9.5 by 7 inches they're large enough to make the perfect wall hangings!

I started by stenciling white paint on the back of the banner with the QuarterFoil Mascil. When it was dry, I sprayed Frosted Glass Spray Paint to create the perfect frosted effect and seal the paint. On the front, I scribbled Spectrum Noir alcohol markers in CG2, CG4, and BT4. I spritzed alcohol on burlap and blotted it on the colored area. The alcohol lifts and moves the marker creating a cool effect. When it was dry, I sprayed Frosted Glass Spray Paint over it.

I stamped the Parrot, three large leaves and sentiment on white cardstock. I colored the leaves with CCG1, CG2, CG3, BT1. I colored the parrot with DR1, DR5, CT4, OR1, TB4, EB7 and IG8. I added a bit of shadow with a black colored pencil to both the leaves and parrot. I fussy cut the parrot and leaves and diecut the sentiment. All that was left to do was adhere the images to the banner and add some twine to hang the banner with.

To create this card I used the Clear Scraps Fence Mixer and a Clear Craft Sheet, cut to size.

I used a bit of the Stampendous Frantage Encrutsted Jewel Kit in blue to embellish my sentiment.

Chevron Border Mascil and Banner Mixer Layout

Hello!  It's almost Mother's Day here in the US! Today I'm happy to share a layout I created using the new Chevron Border Mascil and the Banner Mixer.  I wanted to incorporate the gold trend that's been hot in the industry so let me show you how I created my page!

Clear_Scraps_Chevron_Border_Mascil_layout

Using washi tape to secure my Border Mascil to my cardstock, I lightly misted with Gold Color Shine.  I used a paper towel to lightly dab my page before lifting the Mascil off the cardstock.

And here is what it looks like after drying. I cut strips of different patterned papers and adhered them to the edge.

Do you have left over rub-ons from a favorite collection?  I never seem to use all of them up! I cut my rub-ons into smaller pieces and placed them over my Banner Mixer.  This is a great way to add some accent to your acrylic!

If the edges aren't perfect, simply smooth with your finger or you can lightly sand with a sanding tool.

More photos of my page!  I love this picture of me and my kids! Rarely do I get in front of the camera; I'm always the one taking the photos.  This particular Mother's Day was the last my own mom was alive, so it makes me realize even more that we all need to document ourselves with our loved ones!

So, I challenge you this week to get in front of the camera!  We don't have to look perfect; we just have to be present!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Acrylic Embellishment

Journey Layout by Irene Tan 1(resize)

Hello Clear Scraps fans! Today I want to share with you all a masculine layout which I've used some fun Clear Scraps acrylic embellishment to embellish it. I've used a feathers mixer and a fleu-d-lis embellishment.

Journey Layout by Irene Tan 2

I've colored the embellishment with some alcohol ink and later, outlined them with some permanent markers. I love how easily to add details to your project using them. It will not covered up all the rest of the details underneath it.

Besides the acrylic embellishment, I've also used the chains and barb wire border stencils by Clear Scraps with texture paste to create some texture and designs for the background.

See you all again soon!

Mothers Day layout...

I was digging through some old photos and came across this one of me and my son when he was younger. He now towers over me in height and will be driving this year! I thought it was the perfect photo to scrap in honor of Mothers Day this weekend!

CS_may15_mothersday4_wendyprice

To create the stamped section in the center of the layout, I used painters tape to mask off the sides. I positioned the pattern paper behind the acrylic sheet so I had an idea of where to stamp. The pattern paper will be adhered to the front of the layout, so I didn't worry about masking horizontally. Next I stamped in White StazOn.

I stamped the flower images, cut them out and colored them with markers.

I sanded an acrylic flower on both sides for an embellishment cluster.

Memories Layout with Leah

Happy May Day Clear Scraps friends!

My daughter graduates High School in just over a month, and I have been knee deep in baby photos and reliving all the memories of raising my baby girl.

Today I will be sharing a layout I created and a small technique I used
to decorate the title.

photo bc4f101a-26ef-4f2b-bd48-4ca008bf6741_zpsxbcvmlra.jpgTo create this layout I used Clear Scraps 12x12 Acrylic Sheet and adhered a sheet of pattern paper behind it. Using Stazon ink, I stamped butterflies on the front side of the acrylic.

  photo 02cac291-1afe-4a6f-b9e8-9b179003c1e8_zps1yaybkgf.jpg

I love interactive components on my layouts and albums, so I created a fun little hidden treasure that can be found by lifting up the bottom corner of the photo.

  photo 5c42a3b0-007d-49c3-b7d9-cffab8064e01_zpsnqwxc2py.jpg

To decorate the Expressions Memories title I peeled off the protective film from the front and used a sharpie to define the edges of the title.

  photo 67b47c67-cf6b-4500-a6a9-f4075f82460f_zpsoswt1lna.jpg
I then turned it over, removed the protective film, and dabbed Purple Twilight alcohol ink on the backside of the title.

photo 0eee88f9-1728-4f08-802a-03fc1fc414e0_zps11gjiyi1.jpgI then took the same butterfly stamp that I used on the 12x12 acrylic sheet to stamp randomly all over the expressions title.

  photo c66542c3-7637-4298-ab3d-47a91a32169e_zpslvuayddm.jpg

The color change on the title was a happy accident, because originally I thought the Twilight purple alcohol ink was a little darker than I imagined paired with my pattern paper. I turned over the title and spritzed a little bit of irresistible texture spray in white and let it dry. As it dried it lightened up the color! And there you  have it, a happy mistake!

I hope your May day is fantastic!
