LOVE You Word Frame by Pinky

Hello friends, it's Pinky today with one last project for 2014.

Lately I realy have been into spray painting my projects and a graffiti type feel, it's fun to paint both sides of the Clear Scraps acrylics to achieve different looks. The Clear Scraps Word Boards are fin to experiment with.

I love using the Mascils from Clear Scraps too. For this one I spray painted the board itself turquoise then I painted the acrylic front with the golds and Dragonfly Mascil. Clear Scraps Word Frame I Love You Pinky Hobbs KaiserCraft Krylon Paint1
I thought for the New Year it was a time to reflect on life and changes so why not project that in my crafting. It's like therapy. I made this for a friend of mine who has a beautiful heart.

Have you seen all the Word Frames from Clear Scraps? They are amazing. Clear Scraps Word Frame I Love You Pinky Hobbs KaiserCraft Krylon Paint2

You can add photos or patterned paper like I did, it's all so much fun!

Acrylic used like a piece of glass~ Clear Scraps acrylic sheet.

Hi! Connie here with an idea, to share, using the 12X12 acrylic sheets by Clear Scraps as a glass/protector for a project needing a glass, but you have no glass.  How about using  acrylic?

Prima

This frame is by Prima and comes with no glass or protector.  I wanted my piece to be like a shadow box that I could add momentos in with the photo, so adding a sheet of acrylic was the only thing to do :).

Prima1

To get the size, of the inside of the space/frame, I took a sheet of tracing paper and with a pencil made a rubbing of the open area of the frame.  By doing that I got the size I needed to cut and then insert as the front of the frame.   This piece also comes apart from the back making it very easy to put the acrylic in place, once you are ready.

1. Place photo on back frame piece.

2. Insert acrylic front inside frame.

3. Finish memento placement.

4. Clamp back of frame back on.

Keep this idea in mind when you have a frame but the glass broke ~ acrylic works great!!!!

Here is another idea for the 12X12 acrylic sheets~

Use it as the protector for a scrapbook page that you want to display.  All you need to do this is a clip of some kind~

Dec1

I love this idea.  You can change out scrapbook pages fast and enjoy more of them by displaying them.

Dec2

Keeps all the fingers and dirty hands off your page but yet, you get to enjoy the project without the worry of it getting messed up.

Thanks for stopping by~

The Best is Yet to Come layout

Hi there, Lisa here today. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday filled with family, friends and fun! Today, I'm sharing a layout I created using our 12" Heart Arrow Mascil.

IMG_8486

I used the mascil to create my background using modeling paste.  I didn't want the background in an arrow shape, so I just moved it around so that I would have different sizes of hearts peeking through the background of the layout. Once the modeling paste was dry, I used Gauche paints and water to create the watercolor paint effects over the modeling paste.

I love that with our Mascils I can create a background that is unlike any other!  Plus, getting messy is fun!! Hope you'll give them a try!

Handmade Gifts With Clear Scraps

It's definitely that time of year, everyone gets busy and shops.
I love giving handmade gifts but finding the right handmade gift that will
be appreciated is not always easy.

Sometimes it is nice to go simple and sweet. This gift was for my friends
little boy, I thought as he learned his letters and names that he would
enjoy a book that has his family names with photos.
I made sure to use very strong adhesive and double checked every corner.
You know Clear Scraps albums are not flimsy in any way so I knew with care
it would stand up to a 2 yr olds shenanigans.
For this book I used the Clear Scraps Cassy Mixable Album.
Sturdy and easy to flip the pages.
I used big bold letters and DCVW papers.
I also used the Clear Scraps Mascils, with Gold Krylon spray paint.
I love these mascils.
I included the family dog of course.
Hopefully it's a keepsake he can use years from now.
Clear Scraps makes all my projects easy and beautiful!

Gingerbread Christmas Fun Tutorial!

Merry Christmas and many blessing to you all on this beautiful Christmas Day.

I have one last project to share for the holidays, it's this sweet little Gingerbread card I created using the Clear Scraps Gingerbread Banner from the Creating Made Easy December kit.Gingerbread Card Creating Made Easy Clear Scraps Pinky Hobbs3

I had a few leftover pieces and decided this was the perfect time to create with them. If you haven't subscribed, it's an amazing kit club!

After removing the film from the Gingerbread banner piece I used the Snow Writer that was in the kit to create the "Frosting" around my Gingy!

Then I took some brown cardstock and trim out around the Gingerbread.

A used my bone folder to create a crease on the head and where the snow writer frosting was that's where I dabbed my Beacon zip dry glue to hold it.

I trimmer out the patterned paper from the kit where it said "Tis The Season" and put it on the cardstock like a little sweater.

Then in the front I added the Happy Happy Holidays I also cut from the patterned paper.

I added gems from the kit and some burlap twine in a bow that I had from a previous kit.

It's fun, and completely handmade but special in it's own way.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Last minute holiday card

Good morning Clear Scraps friends!

I was in a pinch for a last minute Christmas Card the other night, and Clear Scraps was there for me!
CSSICbelgrave-2T

I had this classic Belgrave card on hand, and it only took me a few minutes to whip up a beautiful card to go along with my gift.

LRC_BelgraveJollyCard

As you can see I kept it simple again, but with Clear Scraps that just adds to the elegance and beauty!

LRC_BelgraveJollyCard2

I cut two pieces of Paper to follow the line of the card for the left panel and adhered them to the front and backside.

I added a small gift card hidden behind the left side on the middle panel.

Here's hoping your Holidays are Merry & Bright!!

Noodle Box Album.

Hello everyone!  Today I am sharing with you this album I've created using the Acrylic Scalloped Album, one of  my favorite mini album size. It's great for documenting everyday  moments like this and it's not diffucult to make, you can easily complete one in no time. :) and love the results. This is  a fun album of my family enjoying one of our favorite food.

V90A3113

Here's a simple step on how to create this project:  For me it always starts with photo and then the rest will follow. I trace, cut and adhere the papers onto the acrylic pages. Once this is done, I build up the page around the photo, one page at a time :). Suprisingly comes out and should what your heart desire.
