Star Bookstand Decor
August 05, 2014
Not only can Clear Scraps Bookstands be used to prop up books, but they also make great photo stands! Decorate them with your favorite pattern papers and embellishments, add a photo and you have a fabulous custom photo frame!
A tip for working with the stand: Position the frame on your worktable, so the stand hangs off the edge. This will allow you to work horizontally and move your pieces around on your stand before adhering them. Be sure to leave the protective coating on the back until you are done to protect it from scratches or adhesive. I placed scrap paper with lines to give me a guide for color placement of the stars.
Instructions
- Ink white cardstock with a rainbow of colors. Splatter with water to distress. Allow to dry.
- Diecut stars and adhere to the front of the book stand with Zip Dry.
- Adhere your favorite photo. Instead of a photo, you could adhere a notepad to create a memo board.
Supplies Used:
- Clear Scraps (6 x 6 Bookstand)
- Crafters Companion Die'sire diecut (Stars)
- Beacon Adhesive (Zip Dry)
- Ranger Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass, Lemonade, Mowed Grass, Spiced Marmalade, Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberries)
