Reach for the Stars

Today I am sharing a layout I created using the 12" Stars Mascil

Our beautiful daughter, Skylar graduated High School June 7th and I am so proud of her!

First I sprayed Silver irRESISTible Color Texture Spray from Imagine Crafts using the Mascil onto white cardstock. Once the mascil was clean and dry, I laid it on a sheet of white cardstock and rubbed the Blue Hawaii StazOn ink pad over the stars. I love how crisp the stars look! I wanted to add a little bit more texture so I sprayed some Wedding Dress irRESISTible colored Texture Spray on top of several of the blue stars.

Reach for the stars

Once the silver stars were dry, I cut them out and added them for some extra color. I did also cut some blue stars from behind the photo and layered them for effect.

Reach... details

You can see how the texture spray adds dimesion. It's subtle, but so pretty!

Clear Scraps has a huge varitey of both 6" and 12" Mascils. Take a look and give one (or two) a try today!

Clear scraps_imagine_nancy keslin_stamps

Nancy used one of our 12x12 clear acrylic craft sheets and the 12" Quaterfoil Maskil to create her mixed media art work.

She stamped her image onto the front of the sheet using the Jet Black StazOn and then colored the image from the back using a combination of Claret, Blue Hawaii, Orange Zest, Ganache, St. Valentine, and Emerald City StazOn inks.  She applied the inks using a combination of Inkblushers and Fantastix.

Once the inks had dried, Nancy used a combination of Silver and Bronze irRESISTibles with the stencil and splattered Wedding dress over the top.  Finally embellishing with a few flowers, a butterfly and rub ons.

The ink dried fast and covered the acrylic great.  I turned the ink pad upside down and patted it on the acrylic pieces.  No mess!

Day One Imagine & Clear Scraps Blog Feature!

Hello! This week we are featuring Imagine Crafts! Imagine Crafts has generously supplied the Clear Scraps team with several of their AMAZING products.

Today we have Raechelle, and Wendy with their amazing talents!

Here is Raechelle's amazing project...

To create this card I used an Ornate Send it Clear Card from Clear Scraps as well as Cloudy Sky StazOn Midi as well as touches of the Copper irRESISTible Texture Spray from Imagine Crafts.

We belong together {card}

To make this card, I first positioned the 12" Damask Mascil atop of the top two pieces of the Send it Clear Card.

I rubbed/pushed the Cloudy Sky StazOn ink pad over the Mascil. The ink dries almost instantaniously so there is little worry about smudging or bleeding.

Next sprayed a bit of the Copper irRESISTible Texture Spray onto a sheet of scrap paper. ThenI lightly dabbed a paint brush into it and then softly applied a thin coat over the stamped Damask image. It adds just a touch of shimmer which is a nice finishing touch.

I also added the Cloudy Sky ink pad along all the edges to give it some extra dimension.

Imagine Crafts has a wide variety of products to suit all of your crafting needs. Please take some time to take a look at what they have to offer by visiting the Imagine Crafts blog

Artist Palette Décor

Hi Clear Scrappers,

Katie here sharing this altered artist palette using "Create" expression word tile,  small fancy square frame and flourish embellishment...

Used a lot of nature's materials, I wanted to create this art-piece as if it's from the nature... Instead of the usual way of using alcohol inks and StazOn on the Clear Scraps embellishments, I applied a layer of gel medium and sprinkle with perfect pearls over together with some giltter as well... As for the frame, I applied a layer of distress crackle paint with some perfect pearls...

Wedding Day Brag Book

Our Wedding Day Brag Book

Overwhelmed by all the Wedding Pages you need to scrap?

The Wedding Brag book is a perfect way to show off a few of your favorite Wedding photos until you get that larger book finished.

The mini album would also make a perfect gift for your favorite Mother or Mother-in-law.

For my Wedding Brag Book I used the 6" x 6" Chipboard 3 Tabbed Album from Clear Scraps.

I also used "The Story of Us" collection from Simple Stories.

Wedding Album inside

I love these sturdy chipboard books.  When I use these books, I can easily trim around the edges with a craft knife and smooth any rough paper edges with a sanding block.

To spice up boring silver book rings, I painted each ring with a gold metallic paint pen.

Every Love Story...

Tip:  Being a frugal scrapper, I used the 1/2" strip at the bottom of most scrapbook paper to cover the tab.  Start with that edge and cut your paper 6" x 6 1/2" and include that strip for the perfect tab.

Have a Creative Day!

Sue

Layout with Echo Park Paper and Stickers, StazOn, and irRESISTible Inks

10609117_10204648110909177_1801321802_n

Layout with Echo Park Paper and Stickers, StazOn, and irRESISTible Inks

it is the Simple Life collection. With it's coordinating papers and stickers there is enough to make a large number of projects. This is my layout. This was a simple layout that I made using yellow and brown Bazzill cardstock, and just 2 sheets from the Simple Life Collection. This is a 12x12 layout - and inked the edges with Orange Zest and St. Valentine StazOn inks. You will also see one generic white doily, and two of our gorgeous clear flowers - both separately inked.

StazOn ink sticks and adheres wonderfully to Clear Scraps acrylic. It should be allowed about 10-15 minutes to dry, and stays permantly. The irRESISTible inks dry in a gorgeous raised form, giving projects just that little extra umph.

This layout is made for two pictures - one as a 4x6 the other 3x5. The large brown sheet with the flowers is 12inches by 8 inches - the the yellow sheet is 12 inches by 6 inches. Then skillfully stacked with the photo mats - stickers - Clear Scraps flowers - and inks.

My suggest - play around with these same papers to see if you can come up with another gorgeous layout.

Thanks So Much for Stopping By!

Clearly Bananas Card

Hi there, Lisa here today to bring you a fun card I created using 4 x 6 pieces cut from 12 x 12 Clear Acrylic Sheet and some fun embellishments from Pretty Little Studio.  I love our premade Send it Clear cards but sometimes, I want to be more in control of the finished look, so creating my own card from the Acrylic Sheets is a great option.

Photo_2 (3)-001

To create this card, I simply cut two 4 x 6 panels from the 12 x 12 acrylic sheet to create the base of my card.  For the inside of the card, I glued a 4 x 6 journaling card to the backside of the acrylic and then added the tags and die cut to the top of the acrylic.

Closeup

For the front of the card, I used a premade 4 x 6 overlay from Becky Higgins Project Life collection and sewed it to the front of the acrylic piece to create a pocket.  I then added confetti and sequins to the inside of the pocket and sewed it right up.  With a Denim needle, my machine had no problem going through the acrylic and the overlay, however I seem to be having some trouble with the tension on my machine so the stitching wasn't as clean as I usually like.  I decided I liked the messy look for this card about going bananas and left it as is.  I then added some more embellishments and ribbon to the front...Here's a look at the backside of the front of the card when opened.

Inside

I then secured the front and the back of the card together with 1" Clear Round Discs at the top to create my hinges.   I just love all the dimension in this card!  A last look at it...

Summer Photo Banner

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you a banner I made using the beautiful 5 Piece Banner and some photos of my children that I just adore.

Creating with Clear Scraps banners is so easy.  I began by layering I die cut doily onto the banner and adhering it with Zip Dry.

Photo banner_clear scraps_nancy keslin_step 1

Next, layers of flowers, chipboard and bling, with a bit of ribbon at the top were added, again using Zip Dry from Beacon.

Photo banner_clear scraps_nancy keslin_layers

To Dress up the banner just a bit more, I punched a hole in the bottom center.Photo banner_clear scraps_nancy keslin_punch hole

From this hole, I was able to add a string of beads and gems that I connected with jump rings.
Photo banner_clear scraps_nancy keslin_beads

I strung the hole thing on some Baker's Twine, including my photos that I mounted onto patterned paper, and tied some sweet gingham bows on the ends.
Photo banner_clear scraps_nancy keslin_final

I love that this banner can hang in my home and I can see these lovely photos of my children all the time.

Hugs.

Nancy

A Heart Key Ring Tutorial~

Hi, Connie here with a tutorial on how to make a heart key ring using the Heart Mini  Album by Clear Scraps!   The project is super adorable. You will want to make several out of the many shapes that are available by Clear Scraps.

Augtut5

Instructions:

1. Decide on the photos you want to use. You will need five.

Augtut1

2. Cut the photos out in the shape of a heart.  You can make a pattern using one of the acrylic page hearts.

Augtut2

3. Remove the film from the acrylic hearts ( front and back). Adhere the photo's to the back of the heart with Beacon ( Zip Dry). The acrylic will protect the photos.

4. Make a pattern for the back of the hearts and cut five hearts out of pattern paper.  A great way to use up  paper scraps.

Augtut3

5. When that is done, the next step is punching holes in the photos. Use the acrylic heart as a guide to punch the holes in the corner of the hearts.

Augtut4

6. I applied a matt sealer to the backs of the hearts, before adding them to the ring.

7. Add a small decoration to the front heart, ribbon and it is complete.
