Mixable Tabby Album~step by step!

Hi, Connie here with a, step by step, tutorial on how I put this Mixable ( chipboard and acrylic) mini album together.

Tab mini with feather

Step by step~here we go.

1. Cover the two chipborad pages (both sides) with pattern paper.  I used Fast Finish Decoupage by Beacon.

2. Sand off edges and ink all sides (shade).

3. Remove the protective film from the acrylic cover.  Adhere a 3x4 piece of pattern paper to the center of the acrylic cover.  I used ZipDry by Beacon.  By doing this step you will have a clean back (of cover) when you open your album. Covering up the mechanics (glue).  On the inside add another 3x4 and all mechanic are covered. See first picture on left.

4. Cover the large Feather Mixer with old dictionary paper.  I used Fast Finish Decoupage by Beacon.  This is added to the cluster on the front cover.

Tab mini with feather1

5. The embellishments are adhered with 3 in 1 by Beacon on the cover.

6. I added some extra pages also, depending on your need.

7. The acrylic page in the center , I left plain.  To me the beauty is in the see through effect you get with acrylic.

8. I added scraps of trim for dimension.

What I love about this little album is it is tabbed, both acrylic and chipboard and I can add cardstock for extra pages.

Thanks for stopping by~

Remembering Grandma: New Word Frames

Hello Clear Scraps friends! Jennifer here and I'm happy to share with you what I created with one of the new Word Frames!  I received the Grandma Word Frame in my box and knew instantly I wanted to use old photos of my grandmother!

CSWFgrandma-2

Each Word Frame has a solid chipboard back with an acrylic front in which the word or sentiment is custom cut.

Untitled3

I used one pattern to cover the chipboard background, then used both photographs and patterned paper to back each of my letters. I cut strips of the teal pattern to serve as the "edge" of my frame on top of the acrylic.

I added embellishments from the collection I used, as well as from my stash.  These paper flowers from Prima were a great accent to my Word Frame!

I also used these Clearly Accent Butterflies as well! I colored them with Alcohol Ink and Distress Glitter from Ranger before adhering.

A Clear Layout and Banner!

Good morning!  Guiseppa here and I would like to share with you a couple of projects I created this month.  First off I'll start out with a layout.

I made this layout using a clear 12x12 piece of acrylic, the new Mixers (Feathers) and the new Fruit of the Spirit Mascil.

Love winter cha 2014_1

I used molding paste, mist and the Fruit of the Spirit Mascil to make my "Love" title.

I used the Feather Mixers and painted them with acrylic paint.

Baby Word Frame

Hi everyone Simply Monica here and today I am sharing a mixed media piece,  It's been awhile since I have done one I almost forgot how much I loved itI  This is a new release product from Clear Scraps - Baby Word Frame album and I had so much fun working this - absolutely amazing product!

I used Shattered Glass mascils in various places along the board.  Then I used various colors of glimmer mist and paint.  I know not your typical Baby piece, but I am giving this to my friend who is pregnant who is as you could say eclectic so she will love this.  Who says it as to pink and blue right?!

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

You are my Whole World Layout

Hello. Elena is here with you today, and I have a new Layout to share with you.

The photo was taken almost before  the delivery of my son, so that is why I am so serious on this shot.

TheWholeWorldElena

I used some of acrylic embellishments as well as some of the mascils to create my background.

I've started with 6" Cirlces and misted some sprays through it. After that I applied gel medium using

6" Polka Dots.

CloseWholeWorld1

To follow the circles theme I added Circles Border, colored with Dimensional paint and misted with Shimmerz, but before that I applied some gel medium on the circles as well

CloseWholeWorld3

And as a final touch of circles I placed this Scalloped Circle Frame

CloseWholeWorld2

colored with alcohol inks and then accented with Dimensional paint.

and one of the butterfly Mixers

Hope you liked my creation this month.

A Girl Card with Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a girl card, a super cute girl card!!!!  I'm using one shape from the Mini Teacup Album.  One little mini would make five cards, just say'in. The Teacup shape is backed with pattern paper and adhered to the acrylic shape with ZipDry by Beacon.

Card cup heart

I also used the 6" Heart Arrow stencil to add some floating hearts above the tea cup.  On the inside I added a little  something special~girls like that:). The card size is a 5" X 5".

Card cup heart1

I added an embossed envelope to hold a special tea!!  The heart stencil was used again on the small tag.

Valentines Day Cards

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing two Valentines Day cards to send to someone special.

Clear_scraps-feb14_panda card_wprice2

I began by spraying a piece of 12 x 12 acrylic sheet with Spray and Sparkle and folding it to create a card base. I colored the small oval frame with a marker. Next I painted white acrylic paint over the marker. When it was dry, I sprayed Spray and Sparkle on the front of the acrylic frame. I adhered the frame and stamped image to the cardfront with foam adhesive. I finished the inside with a piece of white cardstock.

Supplies Used: Clear Scraps (12 x 12 Acrylic sheet, Small Acrylic Oval Frame), Crafters Companion (Spray and Sparkle, Flowers From Bamboo stamp, Spectrum Noir markers)

Clear_scraps_feb14_panda card_wprice1

For this next card I used one of the Send It Clear card bases. I masked off the hearts and stamped a script image. Next I inked up the back of the hearts with alcohol inks. All that was left to do was add a piece of paper for the inside and embellish the heart with flowers and acrylic paint dots.

Supplies Used: Clear Scraps (Send It Clear-Heart, flowers), Stampendous (Stack Art Royal Heart kit), Ranger Inks, white acrylic paint

Family Goodness Home Decor

Family Goodness Home Decor(resize)

Hello Clear Scraps fans! Today, I would like to share with you all one of my project using Clear Scraps new release, "Family Word Frame".

For this project, I want the word to be a little more subtle and blend in with the background. However, I still want it to be noticeable. I use a gold marker to outline them and add little dimensions around them using paste.

DSC_3608

I've created tons of textures on this frame using texture paste and gesso.

DSC_3604

I've also used a couple of mascils to create some designs on the word.

This will be a great project to try out some mixed media techniques on and later have it displayed in your craft room.

CSMIXwire-2

The new Mixers are awesome.  they can be used as a mask, as a clear embellishment  and the negative space can also be used as a mask on your projects.  I used mine as a mask.  Now, just to let you know, I left the clear plastic film on my Wire Mixer so that I could use it again as a clear embellishment...getting the most out of my acrylic!  Here is what you need:

Perfect Pearls

Brush

Versa Mark

Molding Paste

Spatula

Paper

Wire Mixer

Lay your Wire Mixer where you would like it.

Start applying and fill in all spaces.  Repeat steps if you want to apply on more than one place on your project.

Perfect pearls tutorial4

Make sure you let it dry completely.  You can use a heat gun to speed up the drying process.

Perfect pearls tutorial5

Next, grab your Versa Mark and dab and press down lightly onto your masked image.

Perfect pearls tutorial6

Sprinkle on your Perfect Pearls.
