I embellishned the cover with papers and a page from Mini Teacup Album

I added some stamping with Staz On and colored some parts of the page with Shimmerz paints.

Memories Word Frame ~ a tutorial.

Hi everyone!!!  I love the new Word Frames by Clear Scraps. I thought I would share with you how I created mine.  Maybe it will give you some ideas on creating one  for yourself.

Memories wall art1

I love the vintage look, so I started with that idea in mind.

Tut1

1. To start you will need old dictionary pages and Fast Finish Decoupage by Beacon.

2. Tear the dictionary pages into meduim size pieces.

3. Adhere the torn page pieces to the back (chipboard) of the Word Frame.

Tut2

4. When you have the back fully covered, just let it dry.

5. When the back is dry, take a file and go around the edges to take off any extra paper. This is when I shaded around the frame with brown ink.

6.  Attach the acrylic Word Frame to the chipboard frame back with small clips (to keep the acrylic in place) or cloths pins will work.

Tut3

7.The frame is now ready to paint the letters. This is a picture of the paint and brush I used. A flat, sponge type brush made it so easy!

8. The acrylic Word Frame still has the plastic film on, so if you get some of the paint on the acrylic front, don't worry!

9. When the letters are painted and  dry,  pull off the plastic film (that protects the acrylic) on the front and back of the Word Frame.

Memories wall art3

I then embellished the Word Frame.  I used  3-IN-1 by Beacon to adhere most of the embellishments.

Memories wall art2

I loved creating this peice!!!

Guest Design Michelle Wofford

Hello, Michelle Wofford here and I'm excited to be a guest designer for the Clear Scraps Blog.  Today I would like to share with you a tutorial on to make a pocket card using the Belgrave Card from Clear Scraps

To make the pocket card you will need the large base piece and one of the smaller front pieces.  Remove the protective film from one side of the acrylic.  Trim a piece of patterned paper to the size of the base or adhere paper to base and trim excess with a craft knife.

Note:  I used paper from a 6 x 6 pad. the base is a little longer than 6" so there is a small gap at the base.  For this card it won't be visible, but if it bothers you add a piece of coordinating paper to the base.   Remove protective film from one side of the smaller piece and adhere paper, trim excess with a craft knife.

Once your paper is trimmed flip the small piece over.  With the protective film on, line up the sides with a ruler (or I used my score board) and mark 3 spots on both sides at 1/2", 1 1/4" and 2", leaving a gap from the sides between 1/8" and 1/4".  Repeat on larger piece or just use the smaller piece as a guide for punching the base.

Use a crop-a-dile to punch the holes in both pieces.

Once the holes are made, remove the film on the back side of the acrylic.  place a bit of adhesive on the bottom of the small acrylic piece and adhere to the base being careful to line up the holes.  Secure the sides of the pocket by lacing ribbon up the sides.

Trim a piece of coordinating paper to slide inside the pocket that is 2 3/4" x 4 1/2".  Add embellishments.  The heart shape was created by die cutting a sheet of Clear Scraps acrylic and then embossing it using an embossing folder.

Add a little bling as a finishing touch.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, I certainly enjoyed creating for you.  Thank you to Clear Scraps for the opportunity to design for them.

Hello Love

Hi everyone today I am sharin a project for Clear Scraps using some more new release items from CHA!!  I heard it was absolutely the best - hopefully next year I will be able to make it.

I used Mascils 6' Heart Wallpaper

and the  Butterfly Mixers I heating it with embossing powder and it started to melt I thought oh no... but then it was easy to manipulate and I could bend the wings into shape.  Worked out perfectly!!

I hope everyone enjoyed my post and be sure to check out all the new goodies in the store!!

You Are My Happy: Mixable Cutie Album

Hello Clear Scraps friends! Jennifer here today to show a mini album I created with the new Mixable Cutie Album!  This fun book measures 5.75x7 inches with cascading pages that alternate between chipboard and acrylic!

Cutie

  Clear_Scraps_Mixable_Cutie_Album

I covered the front acrylic page with patterned paper and embellishments. I love how it is smaller so that the rest of the book is visible.

  Clear_Scraps_Mixable_Cutie_Album2

A close up of the front cover: I used Teresa Collins Designs' You Are My Happy Collection.  I thought it went perfect with my family photos.

Clear_Scraps_Mixable_Cutie_Album3

On the inside of my front cover, I used a hexagon cut file from my Silhouette for the background.  I then adhered it to the same patterned paper to give it dimension.

Clear_Scraps_Mixable_Cutie_Album_4

For this page, I wanted to leave a portion of the chipboard showing. I accented the edges by using a white paint pen.

On this acrylic page, I only added my photo plus the sticker tab. Using my 6 inch Chicken Wire Mascil and Art Anthology's Dimensional Paint, I added this fun effect to the top right corner.

Here is a close up of what I did with my Mascil! I love that you can use them with so many different types of art mediums!

The backside of the same page is mirrored with another photo with the paint showing through!

Again, I used my white paint pen to line the edges of my chipboard page.

New Mask Tutorial...XOXO!

I am so excited about the new Masks that Clear Scraps has.  Guiseppa here and I want t to share with you what I did with the XOXO Mask.

Gather your supplies.  I used:

The XOXO Mask

Patterned Paper

Misting Spray (it doesn't matter the brand)

Modeling Paste

A metal spatula

A bowl to mix it in

Love 2014 Winter CHA6

Add the desired amount of modeling paste and mist to your bowl.  The amount is entirely up to you, depending on how much area you want to cover and how light or dark you want it to be.

Love 2014 Winter CHA7

Mix it all together so that there isn't anymore white from the modeling paste.

Love 2014 Winter CHA8

Scoop up some on your spatula.

Love 2014 Winter CHA9

Spread over the area of the mask that you want on your patterned paper.  Make sure you get the paste in all the areas of the mask.  Don't worry about the coverage being even.  It gives it a dimensional look.  Peel it off carefully and let it dry before you finish up your project.

Love 2014 Winter CHA10

Look!  How awesome is this?  I love the look.

Love 2014 Winter CHA11

Here is what my final project looked like.

Love 2014 Winter CHA1

Love 2014 Winter CHA2

Love 2014 Winter CHA3

Love 2014 Winter CHA4

Love 2014 Winter CHA5

Go ahead and give this a try.  I found my modeling paste at Michael's, but I am sure any big box crafting store will have it.  Thanks for stopping by and have fun crafting with Clear Scraps.

A Guy Card with Clear Scraps!

Hi everyone, Connie here with a card for that special "Guy" using the Mini Tea Cup album.  The mini album comes with five tea cup shapes, so you can make more than one card or use it as a mini album.  I used Zip Dry by Beacon to adhere the pattern paper to the acrylic tea cup shape.

Card cup mustache

The paper is by Graphic45, so perfect for this.  The mustache shapes are stenciled on kraft cardstock and cut out.  The stencil is by Clear Scraps and is called Mustaches.

Card cup mustache1

On the inside of the card, I used the Mustache stencil again and made a decorative strip to hold a hot cocoa mix. Guys like that:)

Chipboard Baseball Album With Pinky

Good morning Clear Scraps friends,

I think one of the most touching items that Clear Scraps released for me this year was this Baseball Album! My son's played baseball all through Elementary school and just stopped last year- but I have so many photos so this was the perfect album!

Clear Scrap Baseball Album Pinky Hobbs1

Usually I love to embellish with all sorts of bling and flowers but for this one- I made it for my son- so I wanted to keep it masculine and a little bit simpler.

Clear Scrap Baseball Album Pinky Hobbs5

I know there are plenty of moms and grandma's as well as aunts and so on who would love to create one of these Clear Scraps Baseball albums for their little ones.

Clear Scrap Baseball Album Pinky Hobbs6

When my son saw this he was so excited and begged me for it. He is just 11 so I imagine it will be a lifetime memory for him.

Clear Scrap Baseball Album Pinky Hobbs7

I took an old baseball from our gear bags and cut it up- I soaked the threads in water for 24 hours and then trimmed them out- I added them to the cover.

Clear Scrap Baseball Album Pinky Hobbs4

I think it adds a great vintage feel and it definitely carries our family memories.

Clear Scrap Baseball Album Pinky Hobbs8

After all- isn't that what scrapbooking is all about? Preserving those amazing life moments!

Clear Scrap Baseball Album Pinky Hobbs3

I hope you enjoyed my post today- I always enjoy making them.

Until next time- Keep on creating!
