Birthday Banner

Hello everyone! Elena is herу today to share a Birthday Banner I made for the 1st Birthday party of my friend's little one. It was supposed to feature every month of his life, starting from the pregnancy period, the birth day and finishing  with the 11th month. So you can imagine how long and stretched it is.

FirstPage

I started with Chipboard Travel Brag Bag, covered it with gesso and paints, and then just adhered some paper layers.

Birth

Then I used acrylic page from Travel Brag Bag, added some paper scraps and embellished with the numbers from Acrylic Alphabets & Numbers 1.85"x1.90" inches , colored with alcohol inks and lined with White pen.

Banner1

and after I mixed  it with Large Chip Pennant Banners, covered with papers and embellished with acrylic numbers too.

Benner2

I made some stampping with Staz On on several acrylic numbers.

Baner3-4

The same techniques and mixing the chipboard pages with acrylic ones and the pennants.

BANNER5

I left some areas for making the memory notes , so actually this banner can be used as a mini album too.

Baner6

Baner7-8

Ифтук9-10

Baner11

So you can easily mix the acrylic pages with the chipboard pages, and even take them form teh different albums, as a result you will get something special for your party or family event.

Hope you like my Birthday Banner.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Elena

Thankful card + layout: Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Clear Scraps friends!  We are so very thankful for you!

Today, I'm happy to share a card I created with the Regular Send It Clear Card and 6 Inch Chicken Wire MascilSEI was nice enough to give our design team a pack of their fall collection Yesteryear which goes perfect with today's theme!

  Clear_Scraps_Send_It_Clear_Rectangle_Thanks_card

After adhering my patterned paper to the right and left flaps, I used my Chicken Wire Mascil and Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Silver. Can you tell my Mascil is well loved?? It's one of my absolute favorites to use!

Clear_Scraps_Send_It_Clear_Rectangle_Thanks_card5

And here is end result! Love this!

  Clear_Scraps_Send_It_Clear_Rectangle_Thanks_card6

I cut my title from the Silhouette and white cardstock then lightly spritzed it with Tattered Leather from Tattered Angels.  Next, I added some of the cute embellishments that coordinate with the Yesteryear Sundries.

And on the inside, I added a die cut sentiment from SEI, as well as canvas pennants from their collection.

I again used my Chicken Wire Mascil to color one of the pennants:

Being in the thankful mood, I also created this layout using the 6 Inch Circle Mascil and the Silver Color Shine.  I really love how using a light mist with your favorite Mascil can create a fun background!

Send It Clear~Thankful!!

Hi everyone. Connie here with a Send It Clear "thankful" card!!

Novcard
The front cover is embossed and then inked with StazOn/Rusty Brown.  I punched two holes in each side flap and added seambinding ribbon to tie the card closed. I stamped "give thanks"(Avocado Arts) tag and attached to the ribbon.

Novcard2
I started with puttting a piece of S.E.I. (Chalet) on the inside of the acrylic piece (4"x6"). Beacon/ Zip Dry is great for this. I have enjoyed using the Chalet Collection.  It has paper's that can be used for Fall and paper's for Christmas. I rounded the corners also. The inside is a banner made with the Yesteryear (sundries) by S.E. I.~so perfect !!!  The Send It Clear card product is a quick card makiing project, that gives you the wow effect!!!

Acrylic Christmas album 6" x 6"
Clear Scraps "Dear Santa" Christmas album 6"x 6" by Liza Sivek
Today I have an acrylic Christmas album up on the Clear Scraps blog! This is my debut blog entry for Clear Scraps - or any other blog besides my own! I am so excited to be bringing this creation to you. I had a lot of fun making it.

First the back story – my niece, Becca, is 3 and lives on the West Coast with her parents. The rest of our family is on the East Coast. Her mom is gathering old photos so she can make a family history wall for Becca. It was this idea that inspired the theme of the album – “Dear Santa” through the generations of our family.

I started with the Clear Scraps Deco Acrylic Pages. I love the way the edge of the pages each have a different bracket pattern reminiscent of vintage glass ornaments. I also incorporated the Clear Scraps Clearly Accents Ornaments Embellishments and the Clear Scraps Stars Acrylic Border. For this project I used the Authentique Paper “Joyous” collection with coordinating accents.

Important!: When scrapbooking old family photos, be sure to scan the original and print it on photo paper for use in the album. That’s what I did here and it allowed me to have copies and also edit the photos to correct for fading or crop them without altering an original image.

After removing the peel-off backing from both sides of the acrylic pieces, I laid out the basics for each page. What originally attracted me to Clear Scraps acrylic albums is the hundreds of ways you can use their see-through nature! This gives an extra dimension of layering to build from! My usual style is to start with a theme and let it create itself as I go, but with acrylic I like that patterns show through so I am forced to plan ahead and outline the layouts, which is a really good mental exercise for a crafter. The details can always evolve as you go.

For the cover, the star border beckoned! First, I cut it for layering then sprayed it on the back with gold alcohol ink, edged with Forest Green Stayz On. (I edged all the album pages and most embellishments with Forest Green for continuity). I wanted even more sparkle so I added liquid gold glitter.
I proceeded through each page in pretty much the same way and with lots of detail so I will highlight my favorite techniques:

  • On the inside cover, I used the red “Decorate” paper on the bottom half. This looks like beginner's writing paper. I used a white paint pen and stickers from the paper collection to accent it.

Later I added a dimensional clear button to bring attention to the word “wishes” and on a round tree cardstock sticker. You can see this on the finished page layout. I used the acrylic buttons throughout the album this way!

Acrylic bubble button over the candle "flame"

  • On the next page, the "Grandpa" page, I sprayed gold alcohol ink across the center of the page and then used the 6” Nordic Snowflakes Mascil over it. First, I filled in the snowflakes I wanted with the white paint pen by drawing it in then sponged the Viva Decor Silver Chrome paint pen, (my new favorite paint color) on top. I also built the layout around it so the stencil can be seen from both sides and shows through on the "Grandma" page. I used the sponge to drag Viva Décor paint pen in Light Moss Green along the mat edge of the pic of my dad (Grandpa).  Not only did it match the green in the paper exactly but it has a nice, vintage-y look.

I squeezed a small amount of silver paint on my sponge wedge and then tapped it lightly over the snowflakes I wanted to use. The stencil was taped down to the acrylic page to avoid smudges.
Here you can see the dried snowflakes and sprayed gold ink over a white background. The Light Moss Green also edges the black and white of my Dad - when he was 1!
Here is the reverse of that same page section - you can see where the "joy" die cut and the photo mat make a partial black background. I chose to leave them black for contrast and to make some of the flakes pop on this side of the page.

  • On the next page, for Aunt (featuring me!), I used Black Stayz On ink to stamp a sentiment right on the acrylic page and covered it in liquid diamond glitter. Stamping is one of my favorite techniques with the acrylic.

  • Two of the acrylic ornaments dangle from a ribbon on this page. To get the decorated lines on the ornaments straight with the paint pens, (more Light Moss Green and gold glitter), I laid them on my ruled cutting mat and drew along the grid lines that I could see through them. Score another point for acrylic accents!

    • The next two pages are really a page-an-a-half. I had an extra holiday family picture of my brother, mother and I that I wanted to incorporate. I used scrap chipboard covered in paper and created a pocket from a die cut from the paper collection. I punched a tag around the photo and added patterned paper and sticker numbers for the year, 19youdon'tneedtoknow. Now this lovely picture of me sticking my tongue out can be forever archived as an example of “Naughty”!
Using a stamp with Black Stayz On ink, I created
a St. Nick with patterned paper. I wanted the stripes to
contrast with the holly pattern and match the pocket accent.
  • The second to last page has the star and bell shapes from the Clearly Accents Ornaments sets as embellishments. These I covered completely in patterned paper and used them to identify the photos of my daughters (the Cousins).

I added the year the photo was taken, not a birth year. They are raised above the heavily
decorated page and kept simple so they stand out,

And the whole album:
Front cover with plaid and hemp twine bows on the ring binding.

First page spread - "letter to Santa" and Grandpa

Second page spread - Grandma and Aunt. The bottom half of the Aunt page
was left clear and the ornaments are not attached below the ribbon so they move freely.

Dad and the half page with the tag of Grandma, Dad and Aunt

The same page spread, with the half page flipped to the left. Gives it an
entirely new look! I coordinated the half page papers with the
pages they would land on. This pocket also has a tag but it is
waiting for a photo of Becca's mom to be added.

Becca! On the back cover. Here, as in other pages, I wanted certain
word stickers to stand out so I altered the white letters with
watercolor markers. I also brought several of the die cuts and photo mats above
page line to give that feeling of items "stuck in" over the years.

This album was a joy to create and I thank Clear Scraps for

giving me the opportunity and inspiration. It is fascinating to

see the last four generations all in baby pictures, side-by-

side. I hope I inspired you today!

Additional supplies used were The Paper Studio 5” x 7”

glittered card stock stack, Zip Dry adhesive, red line tape,

washi tape in red plaid, various clear stamps, various

ribbons, hemp twine, 1” Chrome Book Rings, Uniball pen

for journaling, various foam square adhesives,

and various watercolor markers.

Have a glittering day!

Snow Fun Layout

It won't be long before we're trading the rake for a snow shovel. This week I'm sharing a snow layout I created using Clear Scraps Nordic Snowflakes Mascil and XL Deco Shape.

Clear_scraps_nov13_snowmygosh_wprice3

Instructions:

  1. Lay the Clear Scrap Nordic Snowflakes Mascil down on the XL Deco Shape and spread paste through the Mascil. Carefully lift off the Mascil and sprinkle glitter over the wet paste. Tap off the extra glitter and allow to dry. (note: instead of using the entire Mascil design, I moved the Mascil around and placed snowflakes randomly)
  2. Trim SEI Chalet pattern paper to fit the shape of the XL Deco. Adhere with Beacon Zip Dry to the back of the acrylic.
  3. Embellish with strips of corregated cardstock from SEI, alphabet stickers, and twill.
  4. Emboss cardstock with snowflake pattern and adhere to layout along with photo.
  5. To add a fun edge to the acrylic layout, add dots of white paint with a stylus.

Supplies Used: Clear Scraps (Nordic Snowflakes 12 x 12XL Deco Shapes), SEI (Chalet), Stampendous (glitter), Dreamweavers (Pearlescent Paste), white acrylic paint, Cuttlebug (snowflake embossing folder), Basic Grey (stickers), May Arts (twill)

A Fall Pumpkin with acrylic leaves~

Hi everyone~

I have a tutorial on making acrylic fall leaves, with a little kick.  Let's get started~

Tutnov1
* Take your acrylic sheet and adhere paper to it (in my case, I used old dictionary paper) using Beacon's Fast Finish Decoupage.

Tutnov2
*I cut out leaves with my Big Shot using a Sizzix die (Tim Holtz's leaves).

Tutnov3a
* I used Ranger ink and adding many colors giving a leaf turning colors, in the Fall, effect.

Tutnov4
*Hold the heat gun or hair dryer over the leaf (do one at a time) for a few minutes. When the acrylic is soft you can shape the leaf (giving it that kick I talked about).

Tutnov5
*See how the tips of the leaf curled up~looks like a real leaf:)

Tutnov6
I used the laeves along with some other leaves from S.E.I. and arranged them on the top of the pumpkin.  Making a really pretty centerpiece for my table.

Fall Mixable Album Tutorial

Hey all, Guiseppa here to with an album I made using the Showy Mixables Album.

CSMXshowy-2

I want to share a few ways you can dress up those pages.  I love working with clear acrylic and chipboard and this way I get the best of both worlds, so let's get started.

First off gather your supplies:

Mixable Album

Stazon Inks

Stamp of your choice

Lace

Paint Pen

Pearl Strands

Zip Dry Adhesive by Beacon

A Fall paper collection of your choice that has double sided paper.   I used SEI's Yesteryear Collection.

Family album tutorial1

First idea on dressing up one of your clear pages...borders.  Whether you use a die cutting machine or punches...this looks great.  Cut out your border for the first acrylic page and adhere using Zip Dry.  Since you used double sided patterned paper, you can see a nice border pattern on each side.

Family album tutorial2

Family album tutorial3

Next, take your pearl strand and and using Zip Dry adhere the pearls to the outside edge of the acrylic page.  I did this on both sides.

Family album tutorial4

Family album tutorial5

Family album tutorial6

Trace your next page, the chipboard piece, onto a piece of patterned paper, cut and adhere. Do this for the other side too.  I also inked the edged for a bit of an aged looked.

Family album tutorial7

Family album tutorial8

Family album tutorial9

For the next acrylic page, ink your stamp using whatever color Stazon ink you would like and randomly stamp on the acrylic page.  Don't t worry if it's not perfect.  It just adds to the look of the album.

Family album tutorial10

To add even more to this clear page, try using a paint pen on the edges.  I used a gold color because it matched the papers I was using.

Family album tutorial11

Family album tutorial12

Family album tutorial13

For your second chipboard page, do the same thing as the first.

For the last acrylic page idea, I cut a pattern out using my Silhouette and adhered it using more Zip Dry.

Family album tutorial14

I also used some lace around the edges.

Family album tutorial15

Family album tutorial16

Fun ideas right?  There are so many fun ways to dress up acrylic and make it your own.  Now, for more fun...decorating the pages.  Here are some pictures of what I did.
