New Month- NEW Kit!

Leather-look mini frames

I can't believe a year has gone by already.  It has been a fun-filled year, creating for the Clear Scraps Design Team!!  This team is full of wonderfully talented and inspiring artists!  I will still be creating for the Clear Scraps Creating Made Easy Kit Club, so I still get to work with my favorite product line and some of my favorite people.  I am anxious to see what great projects the new team will be turning out!

For my final official Design Team project, I wanted to share a couple frames that can be used for framing school pictures.  My daughter's day care brought in "Old Tyme Photo's" to do their school pictures, and my older daughter just happened to be working part time at the day care so she was able to get some done as well.  The Old Tyme photos inspired these "leather-look" frames, but these frames would look great with regular school photos as well.

For these frames I used Clear Scraps Coaster shapes, and Mini Deco Album pieces.  The background was made by crumpling a piece of paper bag and brushing it lightly brown stain for an aged leather look.  It was trimmed to size and glued to the back of the coaster using Beacon Zip Dry Adhesive.  The front of the coasters were then stamped with Stazon Gold Ink using a swirly flourish pattern.

I traced the Deco shape onto colored papers that complimented the pictures and then used a craft knife to cut the square in the center to frame the pictures.  The deco shapes were then edged with gold leaf pen.  Since the deco shapes come from the min-album/key chain collection, they have a hole in one corner.  I used a little "sheriff" star and paper flowers to hide these holes.

I hope you've enjoyed some of my projects over the past year.  It has been a blast to create with such a fantastic product!!  Please continue to follow the Clear Scraps Design Team & the Creating Made Easy Team.

Happy Crafting!!
