Happy Memorial Day everyone! Hope you have had a safe and enjoyable weekend! I'm here today to share two patriotic projects I did in honor of the holiday! First up, I used the Half Scallop Send It Clear Card and colored the acrylic pieces with Red Pepper Alcohol Ink from Ranger.
After covering my card with patterned paper, I added a rosette and a Clear Shape Small Star in the center. I used Art Anthology's Dimension Crystal in Blizzard to create a border around the edge of the star.
On the left flap of my card, I used the 12 Inch Brick Wall Mascil and misted over the top with Dylusions in White Linen to create this fun effect.
Here is a peek at the inside of my card:
Next up is a layout I created using the 12x12 Acrylic Sheet and another Clear Shape Small Star.
This time, I colored my star with alcohol ink to give it dimension. I also placed a white doily behind so the red would pop out even more!
You can see additional photos by going to my blog. Thanks for stopping by today! We honor those that have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom! -Jennifer
additional products used: patterned paper and stickers: Authentique; chipboard letters and journaling pen: American Crafts; decorative pins: Maya Road; chipboard star and arrow: Pink Paislee; cardstock: Bazzill; misc: doily, sequins, thread.
Have you all tried using one of the large acrylic expression on a layout? Today, I would like to share a layout where I've used a large acrylic "Create" by Clear Scraps as the title.
I know that most of these large acrylic expressions are more than 12 inches in length. This actually makes it fun when you try to fit them into a layout. You could create all kind of styles and design using them.
This layout is just a simple example. You could go bolder and use it as part of the design of the layout. I think I will create one in future to share it here.
Here is a close-up picture of how I've decorated the acrylic expression.
I've covered part of it with pattern paper and rub-ons. Then, I detail it with trinkets, wraps and brads. Decorating the expression itself is so much fun! Try it!
Hello Clear Scraps fans! It's Irene here. Today, I would like to share a carriage mini album which I've created using Clear Scraps acrylic carriage album. In this album, I've also used some acrylic "best friends" which are rub-ons and overlay. These two elements are perfect combinations with acrylic as it helps to maintain the glossiness and translucent effect of acrylic.
Here are some details on the cover.
Here are some pages inside this album
This mini album is perfect for these pictures of Chloe taken with the princesses at Disneyland. Hope you all like this album and if you have any pictures like these, do not hesitate to try using this carriage album.
As the school year comes to an end and summer sports begin, I have a project for all the teachers, coaches and team moms out there. I have the privilege of coaching Jr High and High School Cheerleading, as well as a High School Dance team. I love giving the girls something to the remember the year by, but this can get pretty expensive when I need 25 or 30 of them!! And to make them something, I need something that can go together pretty quickly. Clear Scraps to the rescue!!!
For this frame I used a page from the Clear Scraps Scalloped Square Album. These albums come with 5 pages each, so each album will create 5 gifts!
Other than the pictures and printed title, the only other supplies I used were: Clear Scraps Mascil/Stencil - 6" Quarterfoil, Acrylic Paint - pearl, Make-up sponge, Viva Decor Glitter Pen, Viva Decor Pearl Pen, Beacon Zip-dry Adhesive and ribbon.
I created a frosted background by sponging a very light layer of pearl paint in diagonal sections of the frame.
Once that layer of paint had dried, I laid the Mascil down an sponged a slightly thicker layer over the light layer.
This creates a soft, neutral white-on-white textured background.
Once the paint was dry I used Zip-Dry to add the pictures and embellished with dots of Glitter Pen around the edges of the acrylic and Pearl Pen along the edges of the pictures. Now, to be honest, this is a prototype, and I'm not sure the my hand could hold out to do 25 of these with the glitter dots. I may just do a few dots on each loop of the scallop or maybe edge them with a blue sharpie. There are so many options when you're working with acrylic!!

Hello my Clear Scraps family. Today I wanted to share with you a very special frame that I made last year with our XL expression word LOVE. It has a special meaning to me because I have come to be witness to what LOVE means to me in my life. Four and half years ago I lost my mother and when I thought I would not be able to breath, God took my breath away with His amazing LOVE. I have come to realize that when we lose someone very special it is so amazing how the LOVE stays here with us. Even though we no longer see them in the physical form of this world, the LOVE we have for each other continues and never goes away. If anything it grows stronger.
I love that! I believe this is also God’s LOVE for us as well. There is nothing we can do to make Him LOVE us more and nothing we can do to make Him LOVE us less. It is here to stay, never fading… So for all of you who have lost someone special, know that you get to keep the LOVE you have for each other on this side of Heaven right here with you. It stays forever!
Thank you my Clear Scraps family for allowing me to share this special project with you!
Love,
Susan Frase

Take the Expression word http://www.clearscraps.com/product_p/csltlove.htm and lay it on your paper trace the LOVE word and cut it out. Next adhere the paper to the back of the Love expression word after you peel the film from both sides. Be sure to use small amount of Zip Dry (solvent base adhesive) on the front of the acrylic word LOVE I used timber brown Staz-On to distress the outside edges of the word. Then I finished with Viva décor glitter pens and dark brown pearl pen, embellished with ribbon and mounted in a cheap wooden frame.
I love how easy it is to decorate Clear Scraps Acrylic with something so simple as a Sharpie marker! A while back I used a fine-line Sharpie to create details on a project and wanted to do a little more of that with this project.
After removing the protective plastic from the Clear Scraps Large Expressions Clear Word Title - Dream, I used a black Sharpie to create various patterns on each of the letters. One simple "Zentangle" design, is to create a grid of dots. Then connect the dots with petal-like loops to create a lacy, mesh effect.
Another technique is to create a grid pattern of dots and then connect the dots with an "S" to create a hounds tooth pattern. Keep all your "S"s going in the same direction - in this case mine are all actually backwards - but from one dot to the next my line curves to the right and then back in from the left.
I also used simple lines, squiggly lines and circles to create patterns on the letters.
Once the black design work was done, I flipped the acrylic over and colored in parts of the design with Copic markers on the back. To make the color pop and give the piece a pearlescent frost, I sponged Pearl acrylic paint over the copic marker (again on the backside)
To finish, I added some flowers from my stash. I think the soft pink and purple from the Copic marker and the whimsical flowers make this perfect decor for a girls room!
Thanks for visiting!

Hello once again fellow crafters! Kay here presenting one of my latest layouts. In keeping with May's theme of celebrating Mother's Day I decided to scrap this photo of me & my son taken when he was just 2 days old. This photo was taken at the hospital and I had absolutely no makeup and hadn't even combed my hair! Let's just say I'm very grateful for having the capability of turning any color photo into a black & white one! Thank you Photoshop!
With or without me looking my best--this photo holds a very special place in my heart because it was one of the very first times that I was able to hold my son!
I gave texture to the acrylic heart by applying alcohol inks along the edge. I used a combination of purple, blue & a little bit of yellow alcohol inks. Then with a small paint brush I spread a bit of clear dry adhesive along the border & applied Diamond Dust to the adhesive while still wet. This was the end result. These two steps ensured that my large acrylic heart stood out on my layout which is what I wanted.
I used stamps on this page as well...although I did not stamp them directly onto my page. I stamped the images onto a transparency with permanent ink (StazOn), cut them out & adhered them where I wanted the stamped images with a clear dry adhesive.
In keeping with the transparent nature of this layout, I've printed this quote onto a transparency, cut out the sentences and adhered it to the acrylic base with clear dry adhesive.
As always a big thank you for stopping by today. Enjoy the rest of the week.
