Scrapping with out pictures

March 2013 074

Hey there bloggers Rita Barakat here with a Clear Scraps Acrylic mini -
the Basket Brag Bag! Easter is right around the corner but it is cold!
I see no signs of spring brrr!
This lovely basket is about 9 inches high, if you include the handle and

easily fits 4x4 or smaller pictures. I made this one for Easter
so my acrylic album doesn't have any pictures yet!

I know most people scrap with the picture in mind but I find that times
when
I take lots of picutres- like holidays and birthdays I don't get around to
scrapping them.
This way the work is done ahead of time and I can slide those
pics right into place after the holiday.

March 2013 080

Here is a close up of a flower I colored to match the pretty papers.

March 2013 085

The edges are showing, edged with gesso -
which I seem to be putting on everything these days!

I used a distressing tool for the rough edges.
If you dont have one you can use a sharp scissors - but be careful!

B

I like that you can see thorugh the acrylic
where the paper has been torn back (on the top).

C

D

I love using foam squares to pop up some of the designs.

The back of the book; or the front depending on what I decide.

Do you ever scrap without the pictures?

Happy Scrapping!

Acrylic-Butterfly-Card-Clear-Scraps-Pinky-Hobbs2

For this card I used Clearsnap Glitter for the butterfly are, and Viva Decor Pearl Pens for the pearls. I just had fun with it and went with all the fresh spring colors I could find.

Acrylic-Butterfly-Card-Clear-Scraps-Pinky-Hobbs3

I was careful when I assembled the card- careful not to touch the clear base stickers that create the card. Once I had everything in place it was ready for the added embellishments.

A Girly Spring Album

Hello everyone! Angi here! I am so happy to be back with Clear Scraps!

One of my students really loves to craft. She has been asking me all year long to show her how to make an album. I told her it's really easy and fun to do with the wonderful Clear Scraps products.

The 8 x 8 Acrylic Top Load Album is my first choice when making an album for yourself or a friend. It's just the right size for photos, paper, and embellishments. It comes with page protectors which makes it easy to load once you are done designing your pages.

Jessie helped me design the pages for her album too. She got a kick out of the acrylic. It's so much fun to work with. Here are some of the pages we designed...

Luck of the Irish - Pot O' Gold Card

It's time once again for the wearin' of the green!  Corned beef and cabbage are in my near future!  For St. Patty's Day, I've turned a Clear Scraps Send it Clear Cupcake Card into an over-flowing pot of gold!
Begin by painting the backside of the "Pot" with black acrylic paint.  Then create a rainbow with alcohol inks.
Use a felt pad alcohol ink applicator.  Apply alcohol inks in Red, Yellow, Green and Blue in strips across the pad - allowing the colors to bleed together slightly.

Working on the back side of the card, daub on the rainbow, moving left to right in an arch.  Use rubbing alcohol on paper towel or soft cloth to clean up the edges.
On the front of the card, use an old paintbrush to apply a generous layer of Art Glitter Designer Dries Clear Adhesive to the top sections of the cupcake/pot o' gold.  While the glue is still wet, cover with Art Glitter Dazzlers.  Shake off the excess and set aside to dry.  Repeat on the other half of the cupcake.
I finished the inside of the card by adding two tones of green paper to the back section of the card and a Clear Scraps Accent Embellishment that had been colored with Green and Teal alcohol inks and stamped with as St Pat's Day message.  I added gold pearls to the embellishment with Viva Decor Pearl Pen.  The fancy gold corners are stickers from Mark Richardson.
Happy St. Patty's Day to All!!

Clearly framed! Mixed media on a layout with Rita

 Hey bloggers Rita Barakat here!
Have you seen the new acrylic frames from Clear Scraps?
They are called "Cleary Framed", they come in several sizes
and this one is a called medium circle deco frame.
Oh, you didn't know that was acrylic?

Well it is!!!

First I covered it with gesso, when it was completely dry I
colored on top with Gelatos.  I spread the color around with a dry sponge
then made specks by wetting a paintbrush and flicking the Gelato with
the frame in the background. I used PITT Artist pens to draw lines after
the splatter was dry. Then added "sand" (Viva's stone art effects) to my
project with a palette knife and let dry.

Here is a close up! If you look closely you can see I left some
of the areas clear.  I will definitely use this technique again!
I hope you will try this!

Lucky card with Leah

Good morning Clear Scraps friends, do you celebrate Saint Patrick's Day?
We celebrate by adding green food coloring to things such as eggs and mac n cheese.. it looks totally gross, but is so much fun for the kids. I plan on doing something like that this year again as well as saying thanks to my family.
PierreMarch

See, we just adopted this sweet boy from Angels of Assisi (AOA) this past weekend. His name is Pierre and he's three years old, and such a cuddle bug! He's still a bit shy and reserved because he had been bounced between several different homes before arriving at AOA, ultimately his forever home now with us.

I created this card to say thanks to the family from Pierre and myself. When I look into his sweet eyes, I see a thankful face with a whole lot of love to give. I feel lucky to have found him too!

LeahCrowe_FancySIC_Luckywm

I used the Fancy send it clear card to decorate.

Simple, beautiful, and a joy to create.
I love how the send it clear cards look in the clear envelopes!

You're a Cutie Pi...

Hi everyone! Wendy here and today I'm sharing a card I created with a 12 x 12 blank acrylic sheet and one of my favorite Clear Scrap embellishments...the Small Pennants.

Clear_scraps_march13_card2_wprice

Instructions:

  1. Trim acrylic sheet to 12 x 4 inches. Fold at 6 inches to create a cardbase.
  2. Cut pattern paper to 5.75 x 3.75. Layer with pattern paper strips. Add machine stitching and adhere to card base.
  3. Stamp images, color with copics and cut out. Adhere to inside and front of card.
  4. Trim sentiment to fit behind banner acrylic shape. Hang from card with ribbon.
  5. Trim piece of cardstock 4 x 6 inches and adhere to back of card. This will hide your ribbon ends and give a place for journaling.

Clear_scraps_march13_card3_wprice

To give extra depth to the card, I adhered the images on the front and inside of the card with pop dots.

Time for Shopping LO

Hi everyone , Elena is back for sharing new Layout with you today.  Spring has come and it is a time to buy something new, isn't it.

ElenaOlinevichOUAS

I found this photo ofmy friend's daughter and her classmate after week end shopping. So  decided to use some embellishments that describe their amazingly spent time.

I misted bleu and black inks through 6" Gears Mascil

MascilClearScraps

Then I took Clear-N-Chip Chloe Vintage Frame and cut into 2 parts.

FrameTopClearScraps

I made some drips over the edges with alcohol ink and stamped with some text scrypt.

FrameBottomClearScraps

and to emphasize the girly look I used  Dress Forms Embellishment, and used the same drips technique on it

DressFormClearScraps

decorated with lace and a flower.

Have a great day and thanks for watching me today
