Clear Scraps Acrylic Valentine's Box Tutorial by Pinky!

Good morning Clear Scraps friends,
Pinky here today with a fun tutorial.
I know many of you are making Valentine's Day boxes for your child's classroom, and I got to thinking that it would be so much fun to make my son an acrylic box!
Here is how I created this box.
Trim out 6- 6X6" pieces of Clear Scraps 12X12 acrylic sheet.

Trim out 5 pieces of patterned paper- 6X2"
Use Bone Folder to fold them at 1".
Using 1" side of paper, and Beacon 3N1 adhesive, adhere one side to bottom of 4 Clear Scraps panels.

Adhere all panels together as shown. This will create the box base.

Use Washi tape to adhere all the way around top and create box.
Take Washi tape and run extra layer right above patterned paper on the bottom.
(because kids can get rough on these!).

Using same tachnique with patterned paper, adhere one side of the lid to the box.
Punch small hole into lid and front panel to string the lid on.
Now the lid will open and close.
Add embellishments!

That's it! It's adorable, fun and unique!

I hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial, see you next time!

Happy Garden Banner

Well - acording to Punxsutawney Phil, we're in for an early Spring.  YAY!!  So to get ready for spring, here is a new banner featuring some of Clear Scraps' new releases.  The Garden Acrylic Border from Clear Scraps inspired this Happy Spring Banner.

I used the New Large Chip Banner pieces for the base of the banner.  They are covered in bright papers from the Angel Company, and embellished with pearls, pearl paints and acrylic flowers and butterflies.  The glitzy centerpiece is the Acrylic Garden Border.

I wanted lots of fanciful glitter on this project, so I began by picking out one element on the garden border - the butterflies - and coating it with Art Glitter's Designer Dries Clear Adhesive.

Then I sprinkled a mix of blue glitters over the wet glue.  I repeated this on each of the butterflies on the border.  Then I did the dragonflies with blue bodies and green wings, and then the flowers in pink and white glitter.

It sparkles beautifully!
Check all the NEW products from Clear Scraps!!  They are all spectacular!!
Thanks for visiting!

Build it your way - Valentines style!

Pinks and reds...it's that time of the year!Valentines Day is right around the corner
and heres a sweet idea- why not gather up those sweet Valentine party pics on a
coffee table album? Rita Barakat here and I used a
for this mini! I used alcohol inks on the entire surface, then went back and
used the stencil as a mask while I spread modeling paste (mixed with Gelatos) over the acrylic cover!
The modeling paste adds lots of texture and makes it look like frosting! YUM!
So next week when I get all those party pics from the kids Valentine parties
I have an album ready for them! I think it will be fun to add to this
holiday album every year!

New Chipboard Cupcake Banner with Leah

Good morning crafty friends, Leah here with you today to host the blog.
Today I am going to show you this sweet Birthday Chipboard Banner that is another new item from Clear Scraps this year.
CSCBNbirthday-2T
The Chipboard Birthday Banner comes with 7 pieces, approximate sizes are 1 cupcake 8"x8", 4 small banners 6.5"x6", 2 stars 4.5"x6".

Here is the banner all decorated. It spells out Sweetie, and I thought it would be perfect to hang up around Valentines Day. I used the lovely collection from Crate Paper called  Fourteen to dress up this banner.

I adhered all the pattern papers to the chipboard pieces. Then came back in with various new Mascils and mist to add a little texture and interest.

I also added this Swirl Acrylic Border to two pieces on this banner. If you look at the top right closely, you can see where I cut this swirl border in half to create the second piece. I then decorated it with alcohol ink, then adhered it to my star.

You can clearly see the circle mascil here.

Bling cherries and a pretty bow make this cupcake one of a kind, and oh so cute!

Here is where I used the other half of the Swirl border I mentioned above.
I just love it!

On this next banner piece, I added this small Scallop Acrylic Frame to accentuate the cuties on the paper. I edged it in Viva Decor Pearl Pen to dress it up.

Here's a better close up of the frame

And the very last piece to the banner. I used the fabulous fans mascil for this piece.
I tied it all up using some twine from The Twinery.

Embossed Acrylic

Hello to everyone. Elena here with you and today I want to share with you some simple tips that you can do on your acrylic.

Clear_Scraps_DRess_Form

I made this Layout for my daughter and used many flowers from Manor House Creations, but I wanted to add some acrylic accents to it as well. So I cut the flowers from 12x12 Acrylic Sheet  with my Big Shot, embossed them using Cuttlebug folder and inked clored with alcohol inks

Clear_Scraps_Embossed_Flowers
I also embossed Dress Form Embellishment

Clear_Scraps_Dress_Form_Elena

then I daubed the embossed part in Gesso and covered with Glimmer Glaze

Clear_Scraps_Dress_Formembossed_Elena

Fun and simple techniques, but they can make your embellishments be unique.
