Good day everyone! Today I am so excited to share this project I created using the clear Scraps Girls Bib Dress Chipboard album. Really make me wish for a granddaughter :). I just think this is adorable, well all baby girls clothes are so cute to begin with anyways. So yeah, I think no matter what this will turn out adorable. :) Great way to use all my pink patterned paper/accesories from my stash.

Hello once again fellow acrylic lovers--Kay here with yet another 'love' themed page. I decided to say goodbye to this month dedicated to 'love' with a wedding page. My own wedding actually--which happened almost 6 years ago--I can hardly believe it's been over 5 years already that we were married. Sigh...how quickly Father Time is ticking his clock...
I've used one of Clear Scraps oldies but goodies; an Expressions Clear Word Title--the 'Love' expression.
Sometimes going simple is the best approach. It all depends on the nature of your page.
For this page I did several simple techniques & when it came to the title--what looked best was simply highlighting the edges of my title with a red Sharpie paint pen. This gave my title the simple & perfect effect I wanted.
The little paper rolls are just scraps of left over patterned paper from other projects that I've rolled up & glued to my layout. A very simple technique that adds a nice touch to any page.
If wondering where the title of this page came from--it's actually a song by Harry Connick Jr. It was played during our wedding & I took a few of the lyrics from the song & turned it into my journaling.

Hello! Jennifer here today to show how you can use the new and fun Mascils on not only acrylic, but also patterned paper.
First, I placed one of the Clear Scraps 12x12 acrylic sheets onto my craft mat. Then, using the 6x6 Chicken Wire Mascil, I lightly sprayed it with spray ink (here I used Dylusions from Ranger). I placed the Mascil onto the top left corner of the acrylic sheet and then applied a thin coat of paint which gives a beautiful effect.
After cleaning the Mascil and allowing it to dry, I placed it on the bottom right corner of my patterned paper. This time I only used my spray ink. I love how versatile Mascils are: you can use them on practically any type of surface!

I actually made this for a sweet little girl I know- Bella, who's parents were headed on vacation for the week, and I though she would like to have a photo of them because she is 3 and it helps to have mom and dad close.
I trimmed out a slightly larger circle in patterned paper, than adhere it to the frame and attached a photo.
I used my scrapbook supplies to embellish it, Viva Decor pearl pen, American Crafts rosette ribbon, Bazzill Gem button.
And a Connie Crystal Pink Sun Catcher at the botton to add sparkle.
I put a photo on each side so no matter which way the wind blows you still see the photo. I also sealed it in PYMII after all was said and done.
Have you tried the new Clear Scraps Mascils? If not, you all ought to give it a try! They are so fun and you can create the layers and background you want for your layout or projects.
In the above layout, I've used two different sizes of mascils. Here is a close-ups on it.
I use the 12" chicken wire mascil to create the bigger designs on the background. As for the smaller design around the photograph, I've used the 6" chicken wire mascil.
The film used to make these Mascils are amazing!! They prevent any bleeding of paints or inks underneath it when you are misting. Try it!!
Last month, the Clear Scraps Design Team hosted to blog hop to introduce some of the new 2013 products. I shared this frame and promised to reveal in Feb, the technique I used for the flowers. I received so many nice comments I'm almost embarrassed to show you how I cheated on these flowers. No - I did not paint them. Although, they do look like they'd be fun to paint, and now I may have to play around with trying to create the same look with paint. These are actually done with water-slide decals.
Back in the 90's I was involved in the Ceramic/Porcelain industry and had collected quite of few ceramic decals. Though these are designed to be fired onto ceramics and porcelain, they can also be used on other nonporous surfaces, so I decided to try them on acrylic. They work great! The floral pattern I used on the frame above was the last one I had of that style and I haven't been able to find it online. Sadly, it may be a discontinued design, but if you do a search for "ceramic decals" there are a lot of vendors out there that carry them and there are tons of beautiful designs available.
The decals come in large sheets, with multiple copies of the same design on the sheet. Notice you can see the clear edge around the flower design. This is where the decal ends.
I am going to put this decal on a page from a Deco Mini Album. I've traced the shape onto the decal page with a fine line Sharpee. I stopped tracing when I got near the edge of the next decal.
Cut inside the Sharpee line. The hard cut line here won't show since the edge of the actual decal is to the left of that.
Fill a shallow dish (large enough for the decal section) with warm water. Float the decal in the water until the decal separates from the paper backing - about 30 seconds.
Place the decal on the acrylic and gently position to line up the edges. Using a paper towel or soft rag, gently squeegee the water and air bubbles from under the decal. The adhesive will begin to take hold. For additional protection, spray with clear acrylic sealer.
Stamp the back of the acrylic with silver metallic alcohol inks.
This is a quick and simple way to add pretty details to cards, layouts and decor items!
I have definitely found that using my Cameo (or what ever die cut machine you have) is one of my favorite things to do in conjunction with my Clear Scraps acrylic. I love having little bits of see through goodness on my layouts and can add such a great contrast.
For this layout I started with a piece of Clear Scraps XL Scallop shape (the square shape). I cut a title out of the upper portion of the layout and then a border of connected hearts along the bottom.
After I was done adding embellishments then I went around the edges of the acrylic shape with a gold paint pen and added some journaling directly onto the arylic.
Here are some photos without the white board behind the layout, gives you and idea of just how cool those negative areas look with the clear acrylic behind them!

The white behind the layout is just to show the edges of the layout as well as the see through quality, and is not a part of it. I still am amazed every time I work with Clear Scraps Acrylic, how truly crystal clear it is once you remove the protective film.
To create this layout, I layed down the Mascil and willy nilly painted in the fans with acrylic paint. I thought it was a nice way to imagine snow slopes. :)
Next up, I painted alcohol ink on top of the heart border, and used the shattered glass mascil to create some texture on the border as well. I cut the border in half so I could use it in two places on my layout.
I also create my own pattern paper using Liquitex glossy gel and the 6" Brick Wall Mascil. While it was still went I spritzed it with pink and blue mists.
To highlight one of the photos, I applied alcohol ink on the rectangle deco frame, then adhered right on top of the photo. I didn't trim it or anything, although you can! I then adhered some beads and bling to the frame to pretty it up even more.

Hello Clear Scraps fans! I know that this card might come a bit too late to celebrate Valentine's Day but I sure some of us celebrate it throughout this week.
I've stamped the front flaps of the card with a flourish stamp and glue pad. Later, I've sprinkled some fine glitter over it to create the glittery flourishes.
I've also add a small acrylic lamp post embellishment in it. Have a fun week ahead!
Hi Clear Scraps fans! Good Saturday morning to you all. Tonya here today to show you how I used the new Clear Scraps 12" Fans Mascil/Mask.
I started with a blank piece of black cardstock and then layed the mascil on top. Next I used white mist and sprayed mainly around the edges, knowing that I wanted to leave the middle fairly light to allow a natural space for my title, photos and journaling.
After the mist dried I used the misted shapes as a stitching template (if you aren't into mists, you could just skip the misting step and use the mascil itself as a stitching template instead). Then I poked all of my holes with a paper piercer and plunked myself down in front of the t.v. while I stitched away.
I chose to do ombre shades of the rainbow around the edges, here's a close up...

Hello! Here Elena with you and I want to share with you my Layout called Friends.
To create this Layout I started with the background. I misted through the Swirls Border first, and just a tip: I didn't removed the film before that step. It is very useful if you want then to color your acrylic with different accent.
Happy Valentines Day fellow acrylic lovers! Kay here with a layout made especially for Valentine's. For this page I had the opportunity to work with two new products from Clear Scraps--the Hearts Acrylic Border & the 6" Chicken Wire mascil!
This would be my husband & I on our wedding day almost 6 years ago. This layout received it's title from the song that was playing when this photo was taken. My husband made a special request to our DJ for the song 'Your Everything' by Keith Urban & dedicated it to me. It was a surprise for me since I didn't know he was planning on doing this. This is my husband at his best. :-)
The 6" Chicken Wire mascil was placed on both corners of my page & misted with Graphite Glimmer Mist & just a hint of My Bleeding Heart Coloringz by Shimmerz .
For the Hearts Acrylic Border, I first highlighted the edges with a Sharpie Black Oil Based Paint pen. I then colored the border with a combination of Red Pepper & Silver alcohol inks. Finally, I stamped the word 'love.' onto my hearts with black Staz On ink. Always remember to use solvent inks & permanent markers when working with acrylic. Using any other kind of inks or markers will cause your work to smear.
