Some Mascils!

Tunnel Of Love(resize)

Have you all tried out the new Mascils by Clear Scraps? These stencils are so easy to use and perfect for adding some designs and layers to your projects.

In the layout above, I've used the "Brick Wall" and "Damask" masks to create some designs and layering. You can use them with paints, inks, gesso and etc.

I've also used a "Butterflies" acrylic border on the layout.

Live Laugh Love Layout

Hello once again fellow crafters!  Kay here with a layout showcasing one of Clear Scraps newest releases--mascils!  For this page, I've created my entire background with a 12" Numbers Mascil.

Live Laugh Love
Creating a unique background for any project is a cinch with these new mascils.  To create mine I simply placed my mascil onto my paper & spritzed Granite Glimmer Mist onto it, then removed the mascil & voila!  I was done!  Instant fabulous shimmery background!

The theme of this page is little ol' me.  Once in a while us scrappers need to take the time to document the most important legacy we can leave behind for our loved ones--which is us.  So this page consists of elements that represent me in some shape or form.

You can find more details & close ups on this page on my blog.  Hope you all enjoy the rest of the week!

Trendy Chalkboard

Hi everyone. Tonya here today to share with you what I did with one of the large acrylic frames. I was sent the XL Rectangle Deco Top Frame Set. As soon as I saw it I knew immediately that I wanted to make it into a chalkboard for my kitchen wall.

                                             Cslargeframechalkboard2

I started by masking off the area that I wanted to be the chalkboard and spraypainted it with several coats of chalkboard paint. Once that was all dry I removed the masking tape and painted the rest of the chipboard area with gold metallic paint.

                                              Cslargeframechalkboard3

Next I outlined the edges of the acrylic with a gold metallic paint pen. The black images were then stamped on to the back of the acrylic using StazOn ink. Lastly I added some gunmetal jewels to the front of the frame.

Super easy, the most time consuming part was waiting for the paint to completely dry between coats.

New chipboard Albums, Banners, & Frames, Oh My!!

Good morning crafters! Leah here with you today hoping that the New Year is off to a great start for you!

Clear Scraps has expanded our chipboard selection and I'm here to show you two of them!! We will be looking at the Boy Bib Overalls Chip Album, new deco frame, and the Small Scallop Banner!
LeahCrowe_ChipboardOverallswm
After I had my son, Cameron, I never really created a baby book for him. With another child just under a year, and a 8 year old, I was super busy. Albums such as these are nice, you can go back and create something special with those precious photos you have been holding on to.
For this album, I focused on all the photos taken at the hospital.
This photo on the front is framed with our new Clearly Framed Acrylic!
They make highlighting a photo a piece of cake, here's a closer look.
LeahCrowe_ChipboardOverallsawm

I used my Cameo Silhouette to cut out embellishments and tabs for photos through-out the album.
LeahCrowe_ChipboardOveralls2wm
I had so many photos I wanted to include in this album, but there was not enough room with all the photos being 6x4. I used washi tape and photo tabs to create a interactive album within the album pages.
LeahCrowe_ChipboardOveralls3wm
On this page, I had room for journaling beneath the photos.
LeahCrowe_ChipboardOveralls3awm
On the next two pages, I added photos in a way where they fold back onto themselves using washing tape. To do this, I turned over all my photos and spaced them 1/2" apart. I then adhered washi tape down the middle of the photos until they all have tape. It's best to use tape you know will stay put and not peel back up.
LeahCrowe_WashiTapeTut
To add these photos to the album, I used Beacons 3-in-1 glue and applied it to only the bottom half of the last photo. When you flip through the images, it tucks behind the photo beneath it, and the other photos become visible!
LeahCrowe_ChipboardOveralls4wm
LeahCrowe_ChipboardOveralls5wm

LeahCrowe_ChipboardOveralls5bwm
And here's the last page! I love this album and I think Cameron will too!
LeahCrowe_ChipboardOveralls6bwm
Real quickly, I want to share the New chipboard scallop banner!!
LeahCrowe_ClearScraps_ChipboardScallopBanner
I painted the banner with acrylic paints in rainbow colors, then I added quotes about friendship and rainbows on here. When the banner is all together it says Friends.
LeahCrowe_ClearScraps_ChipboardScallopBanner2wm

And that my friends, is a wrap! I hope you enjoyed todays post and keep telling your friends about us! We love seeing what you are creating with Clear Scraps, so stop by our Facebook page and show us!

Build It Your Way - Elena's Version

Almost a month ago we celebrated Christmas and I am sure that you have many photos to scrap now.

So Build It your Way is the best decision for it.  I have created a mini album with several Christmas photos

Acrilic_Maja_Main

I used Small Acrylic Binder, that I've decorated with some fussy cuttingof Maja Design Christmas Collection Papers and added some acrylic paint

Acrylic_Maja_MainStand

I decided to use Deco Acrylic 6.5x6.5 pages for my photos

Maja_AcrylicPage_Main
and surely I can not resist adding some acrylic paints there too. I am so happy that now we have so many mascils to choose from. So I took 6" Quarterfoil mask and apllied some paint on acrylic pages, then added some stamping

Page2_Acrylic_Maja

for Scalloped Chipboard 6,5 x 6.5 I used Maja Design papers as well and applied texture paste using my 6' Brickwall Mascil. After that I misted through it with some spray.

ClearPage
The same mask I used on acrylic page too

Page4_Acrylic

and I adore this transparency that acrylic gives to the pages

PAge3_Acrylic_Maja

and then I just started mixing the masks and the mediums

and again acrylic page for the photo

XL Project: Believe w/ Pinky

Good morning Clear Scraps fans!

Pinky here today-

So how have you been enjoying the month long reveal of BRAND NEW RELEASES?

I know I have LOVED seeing all the new designs and I have had even more fun creating with them. I have a fun project to share with you today, it is hard to share just how BIG this project really is.

This is one of the brand new Clearly Framed Deco Frame Sets and it is a whopping 11.5X18 INCHES! It is really beautiful. Now I created a wall hanging from it, but I think it would be simply amazing as a photo collage as well.

CHA-ClearScraps_PinkyHobbs11

I will definitely be ordering more and creating them. I also love that they come in a set!

1-
For this project I ended up using a BIG foam stamp and Jenni Bowlin paint dabber, I painted the stamps onto the acrylic and then sealed it with PYMII.

I also spray painted the back piece with regular old spray paint, I love the little bit of crackled effect the chipboard has.

CHA-ClearScraps_PinkyHobbs12For the BELIEVE I simply removed the film from the BACK of the acrylic Expression and lightly spray painted it in glossy black. Not coating entirely because I wanted it to show through just a bit.

Then I added my embellishments and lace. I really think the possibilities are endless here.

I hope you have enjoyed my project and I really hope you will share yours with us!

XL Deco Top Frame makes a great wedding gift!

Good morning Clear Scraps friends!
Leah here with you today to host the blog, and I am SO excited to share with you the gorgeous new Extra Large Frames Clear Scraps now offers.
Today we will be working with the XL Rectangle Deco Top Frame Set
CSAFRxrecdetop-2T
and a new Mascil (Mask/stencil) - the 6" Circles!
CSSMcircle6-2T

I created a wedding gift for my cousin Amy to give to her on her upcoming Anniversary this year.

To start this project, I took the chipboard backing (in the picture above it is on the right side) and painted it all white with gesso. I set that aside to dry.

For the Acrylic top, I mixed red acrylic paint with Liquitex coarse texture gel. The texture gel creates a sand like texture and makes the paint more thick... perfect for adding texture on top of the acrylic when used with the brand new stencils Clear Scraps offers!
LeahCrowe_ClearScraps_LargePlaquewm
Once the texture gel/paint mixture was dry, I turned over the Acrylic top and alcohol inked the backside in a lovely red shade.
LeahCrowe_ClearScraps_LargePlaque3wm
Add some lace and Silver Christmas pearl garland around the photo edges, add the date of their anniversary, a way to hang the plaque, and my project was complete.

*Winner* And Build It Your Way Binder - Collecting Creativity

Good morning Clear Scraps friends, before KC shares her incredible album we wanted to THANK YOU ALL for sharing Clear Scraps with your friends and entering the Blog Hop Contest! Also we wanted to post a winner from our NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP!!!
Deanna Green please email contest@clearscraps.com
with your information and we will mail you a wonderful prize package!
Now on to KC's post!

I'm sure I am not the only one who has made a resolution to be more organized.  Is it actually possible to organize your crafting supplies?  I guess I'll find out....

When I saw the new Clear Scraps Build it Your Way binder, I knew immediately what I wanted to do with it.  This binder will be a place for me to keep and organize creative ideas, samples and inspirations.

About the title -  I am a doodler...some of my best work is on post-it notes that I've sketched while on hold or listing to someone on the phone.  Others are in the margins of my notepad from long office meetings.  I've been known to keep a collection of post-it notes long after I've returned the phone call or dealt with the item on the paper, simply because I liked the doodle I had created on it.  So, one of the sections in this binder will be devoted to collecting these little sketches.

I chose to use the chipboard pages inside the binder.  Since I will be continuing to add to this binder, this will always be a work in progress.  I may at some point add more acrylic pages, but for now the chipboard pages camouflage some of the creative clutter that will be kept in this book.

The cover of the binder also features a couple of the other new items from Clear Scraps.  The "lattice" border was created using blue and purple alcohol inks and 6" Quarterfoil Mascil - Mask/Stencil.

The blue scroll is one of the new acrylic borders - Swirls.  I used a mix of blue tones of alcohol ink on the back and then painted the backside with white acrylic paint to make it stand out more.

Visit the Clear Scraps site to see all of the new products!!

And wish me luck on this organization project!!  It is SO much more fun to craft than to clean the craft zone!!

Happy 2013!!

KC

My Promise Layout

Hello once again fellow acrylic lovers & happy belated 2013!  Kay here presenting a layout made with a couple of new releases by Clear Scraps.  For this page I've used items from both new releases by Clear Scraps; Acrylic Borders & Clearly Framed.

From the Acrylic Border collection I've used the Square Acrylic Border.  From the Clearly Frame collection I've used the Small Rectangle Frame.

This would be my newborn son when he was about 2 days old.  The theme of my page is 'My Promise' to him as his mom.  My journaling consists of several items that I pledge to provide as his mom throughout his long journey in life & as one of the most influential persons in his life.

My Promise
For the Square Acrylic Border, I've added texture by first highlighting the edges for a couple of the squares with a black Sharpie.  I then colored the border with orange & yellow alcohol inks.  I then dressed the corners of the squares by applying a dot of Bisque Liquid Pearls.  Finally a couple of square mosaic pieces were adhered to a couple of the square boxes.

You simply can't go wrong with alcohol inks when it comes to acrylic!  The best part is that if you make a mistake or don't like how it's coming out--just add a few drops of the Blending Solution, wipe it clean & you can start all over again.

IMG_1442
For the Small Rectangle Frame--I've covered it with patterned paper, inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink & dressed up the corners with a couple of Black Diamond Stickles dots.

IMG_1445
You can find more details & close ups for this page on my blog.  Make sure to keep coming back to the Clear Scraps blog for more inspiration by the talented DT on how to utlize acrylic elements for your crafty projects!  Enjoy the rest of the week...

After removing the protective film from both sides, I applied a coat of Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam paint in Chandelier.

After the glitter paint dried, I made random drips of  Ranger alcohol inks, allowing them to mix.
