Earlier this month, Clear Scraps released brand new
Recipe Stand kits and we've all be having a great time creating new projects with them. For my project, I wanted to create a keepsake
recipe holder that I can give to my daughter with some of her favorite family recipes. She is in her first apartment and learning to cook, so this book will begin with a few of our family traditions, but also allow her to add her own new favorites. I decided to use the stand to lean the
recipe book against rather than attaching the pages to flip over the top.
For the front cover, I embossed the top of a cupcake from a
Mini Cupcake Album. I filled the recessed areas with glue and glitter, and then covered the back with a dimensional "Snow" paint to create the frosting.
Since the cupcake was on the front of an acrylic page, it had to look as good from the back as it did from the front, so when I covered the back with "frosting", I also sprinkled a little glitter on while the paint was wet.
The papers I used for the stand and throughout the book are from a
Paper Studio paper pack. The pearl embellishments are from Want 2 Scrap.
Most of the words, titles and tabs were printed from my computer using a Printshop program. If you're interested in a pdf of these, send me a note and I will share it with you. The tabs were punched with a 1" round punch and covered with 1" round resin
stickers.
I punched 1" circles of the coordinating papers and covered them with resin stickers for the back side of the tabs.
I also found one sheet of stickers that had appropriate colors, images & titles to add.
I did a little stamping on some of the acrylic pages. This cake stamp is from Red Rubber Designs.
I have a feeling the "Spirits" section will be my daughters favorite - she loves to entertain! This stamp is from Red Rubber Designs as well.
Check out all the projects that our design team has created for the new recipe stands. There are LOTS of ideas of projects to create with these fun new kits!
