School Journey
September 24, 2012
The transition back to school isn't always an easy one. My oldest son was not a big fan of school when he was young. There were many tear filled mornings. It was a difficult journey, but I'm happy that he's now excited over school. The new Clear Scraps Journey Expression was the perfect touch on this layout of his School Journey!
Did you know that you can sand Clear Scraps acrylic to give it a frosted appearance? Leaving the protective coating on the back of the acrylic, I sanded the Expressions and XL Dazed Shape. I used a power sander, but you can use a piece of sandpaper or sanding block.
After the front of the acrylic is sanded you can flip it over and give the back a bit of color. I used Copic refills and Ranger Alcohol Inks.
Here you can see a closeup of the Journey Expressions....
I added cardstock to the back of the XL Shape, and pattern paper to the front of the layout. This gave a bit of depth to the layout and also allows me to add some hidden writing on the back of the layout.

- Clear Scraps Journey Small Expressions
- Authentique Pattern Paper
- Stampendous Vintage Typewriter
- Quick Quotes Ink
